Starting from the food, the organization, the staff and the availability, everything was perfect! The care with which Mrs. Vittoria managed the tables and location far exceeded our expectations. A summer evening, barefoot on the lawn with a unique atmosphere, music and an exceptional dinner, meant that after 25 years we found ourselves fulfilling a dream again. 04/05/2025: After a very unpleasant experience near the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, I was ready to leave the town immediately. But one of my taxi companions suggested we stop by the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, and there, I had a deeply spiritual experience that completely restored my peace of mind. After receiving so much grace, as we waited for our train back to Rome, someone suggested grabbing a gelato and a coffee — and so we stopped at this place, without expecting much. But as soon as we stepped inside, I felt something shift — this, I thought, is the true spirit of Assisi. The owner, working alone behind the bar, was incredibly kind. The gelato was smooth and delicious, the coffee absolutely perfect, and the owner was cheerful and quietly warm. There were many locals around, probably regulars, chatting and enjoying their coffee and gelato. Watching them gave me such a comforting, homey feeling. This bar has been open since 1860 — and it’s clear why. It reminded me how a scoop of gelato and a cup of coffee can bring comfort to a weary traveler, body and soul. I sincerely hope many other travelers will stop by and experience what we did. It’s not just a café — it’s a place that warms your heart. Highly recommended. Ma uno dei miei compagni di taxi ha proposto di fermarci alla Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli, e lì ho vissuto un momento profondamente spirituale che mi ha restituito la pace del cuore. Dopo aver ricevuto tanta grazia, mentre aspettavamo il treno per tornare a Roma, uno del gruppo ha proposto di prendere un gelato e un caffè — e così siamo entrati in questo bar, senza grandi aspettative. Ma è stato proprio lì che ho pensato: "Ecco, questo è davvero lo spirito di Assisi." Il proprietario, che lavorava da solo dietro il bancone, è stato di una gentilezza rara. Il gelato era morbido e squisito, il caffè semplicemente perfetto, e il proprietario era una persona allegra e sincera. Il locale era pieno di clienti del posto, persone del quartiere, che chiacchieravano serenamente tra un caffè e un gelato. Guardarli mi ha fatto sentire un calore familiare. 28/07/2025: Non credendo alle recensioni che dicevano che il gestore era particolarmente maleducato e non faceva sedere famiglie con bambini, abbiamo provato ad andare comunque. Confermiamo che, nonostante ci fossero più tavoli liberi non ci ha fatti sedere accampando la scusa indicando i 3 tavoli vuoti "ci sono 3 persone che stanno parcheggiando". Fuori dal locale pieno di parcheggi liberi e nessuno è entrato nel locale nei 10 minuti successivi. Oltre che maleducato è anche mentoniera e non ha nemmeno il coraggio delle sue azioni, potrebbe scrivere "i bambini non sono ammessi".

05/06/2025: Siamo stati in questo locale e siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti. Il ristorante è piccolino e non prende prenotazioni ma la domenica ci ha detto il proprietario che è abbastanza tranquillo ed apre alle 19 quindi se si arriva presto il posto c'è. Abbiamo preso solo la carbonara e devo dire che non l'ho mai mangiata così buona. Non abbiamo provato altro ma devo dire che ci tornerei volentieri anche per assaggiare altri piatti. Consigliato.

27/07/2025: Dopo aver aspettato 20 minuti e chiedo prima in cassa prima di ordinare le salse mi viene detto.che l avrebbe portato dopo arriva il pranzo e mi viene detto che la maionese è terminata senza parole insalata non condita solo olio portano a tavola..chiedendo del aceto mi viene riportata indietro e messo in cucina e riportato dopo 5 minuti sconsiglio questo posto.

27/07/2025: Siamo stati qui per cena, siamo arrivati nell’orario giusto prima del pienone..abbiamo preso 2 torte al testo, 1 vuota, 1 grigliata e patatine. Forse sarebbe meglio spiegare bene cosa si trova nei piatti, perché nella grigliata c’era già uno spicchio di torta. Un altro suggerimento: più pulizia!

Sometimes, when reservations exceed expectations, service can be a bit chaotic, considering the restaurant is run by just two people: a chef and a waitress. However, despite the chaos, the waitress does her best to ensure a pleasant experience, always remaining kind and helpful. The food is good and the dishes are carefully prepared, demonstrating the chef's attention to detail and passion. It's a shame that yesterday the bread ran out at 8:40 PM, a frustrating detail, especially considering that the truffle-poached egg is one of the menu's signature dishes. Despite this inconvenience, the quality-price ratio is excellent, thanks in part to a discount that made the meal even more affordable. Overall, a restaurant worth visiting, especially if you're willing to forgive a few small mistakes.

15/06/2025: È la seconda volta che mangio in questo posto, hanno un ottimo menu della tradizione umbra. La coratella era buonissima veramente,la straconsiglio. La pizza è la classica bassa e scrocchiarella come usa da noi ma forse poteva essere più cotta. Comunque una buona pizza a prezzi molto accessibili e così tutto il resto del menù. Locale con molti coperti ma il servizio è abituato a fare i numeri avendo uno staff molto numeroso. Bravi. Prezzi molto onesti
