Cafe Duomo In Assisi

Family owned. Atmosphere is family stile cozy. Very nice service, food is pretty good, house wine excellent and pretty affordable. Definitely recommended.

We went for dinner tonight. The atmosphere is charming and quaint, but the food and service left much to be desired. The stew was cold and the bread was stale. The young woman who served us didn't even bother to say hello; the other two ladies in the dining room were friendly.

I had dinner with 11 colleagues. I wanted to make a reservation for 8:30 PM, but they warned me there was a large group there first and they wouldn't be able to seat us until later. When I replied that I'd check with the others to confirm, they insisted I make a reservation for 8:45 PM, saying they'd definitely be able to accommodate us by then. Of course, we arrived promptly at 8:45 PM and had to wait outside until 9:00 PM. Oh well, it happens. We entered and found ourselves in a room with another large group, but to leave more tables free (they have another room that was free at the time), they forced us to squeeze into a corner... 12 of us. It would have been enough to push the other two tables together, which then remained empty, to make us a little more comfortable and not all crowded together against the other group. They finally come to take our orders, the waitress is extremely grumpy, visibly annoyed by everything and everyone, so much so that it even causes us to laugh. The other group also noticed and commented on this, let's say, unprofessional behavior during the evening. The desserts are poor. The price is average, perhaps a little less than other places in the center of Assisi, but the portions are a bit small. The pizza, too, as someone else wrote, is rather small and extremely thin (I should point out that I generally appreciate thin-crust pizzas, but only up to a point).

Enjoyed dinner here, and had an enjoyable meal here. The fried appetizers were great, the main courses were ok.

Very good. Cozy. Fast service. The food is delicious, the beer 🍺 and wine 🍷 are wonderful. From 15 euros per person 💶 The hosts are a family. Great job.
