14/06/2026: From the outside, you wouldn't expect it, but inside you'll find a stylish, modern ambiance with a beautiful terrace. The service staff was exceptionally attentive and friendly. We were very impressed with the food – we especially appreciated how they flexibly accommodated our vegan requests without prior notice and adjusted the menu accordingly. The menu is small but excellent, and the value for money is absolutely right. We'll definitely be back! 😊

26/06/2026: The food was truly excellent and of a very high quality. Unfortunately, the service significantly marred our overall experience. We were served by a waitress who spoke exclusively Italian. Although I spoke German from the beginning, she simply continued speaking in Italian, even explaining the daily specials not on the menu only in Italian. I would have appreciated at least a brief "Excuse me, I don't speak German" or an attempt to get a German-speaking colleague. We also asked in Italian if a dish could be ordered without sauce. Even this simple question was met with a very hesitant response, as if any minor adjustment were a problem. Yet, such requests are perfectly normal in everyday restaurant service (in my experience). Especially in a high-end restaurant in South Tyrol, I think it's important to cater to both German- and Italian-speaking guests. Another employee later offered to speak English, and another waiter was very friendly and spoke German, so I know it would have been possible in principle. Furthermore, we asked in Italian if a dish could be ordered without sauce. The food definitely deserves 5 stars, but unfortunately the service in our case did not. It's a shame, because with a little more attention to the guests, the evening would have been perfect.

06/06/2026: I can only review the restaurant itself, and it's truly excellent. They have a small menu, but usually also offer several daily specials. The food is delicious and the presentation isn't overly elaborate. The meat dishes are also very good. While the prices are on the higher end, they still offer good value for money. The service is friendly and attentive. They have a wide selection of wines by the glass and an extensive bottle list. The only thing that could be improved is the children's menu; it's just the usual pasta with sauce. The shaded terrace in front of the restaurant is also lovely. Parking isn't a problem.

26/06/2026: We had lunch at Luna in Bolzano and had a very pleasant time overall. The location is truly excellent: stylish, comfortable, and with an inviting atmosphere – perfect for a lunch break in the city. We ordered the business lunch with vegetable sticks and octopus, and the steak tartare with fries. The octopus was well-prepared and delicious, and we also enjoyed the steak tartare with fries. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Our only minor criticism was the vegetable sticks in the lunch menu. While raw vegetables are perfectly fine in general, they seemed a bit plain and unimaginative in this context. Especially for a business lunch, we would have appreciated a more creative side dish or presentation. All in all, though, it was a good visit: a beautiful location, friendly service, and solid cuisine with some truly outstanding components. We give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

25/06/2026: Wonderful place, we went with the family on Sunday to try the brunch, truly exceptional! The waitresses are very polite and smiling, we'll definitely be back. The only flaw is seeing them under the sun in a long shirt makes me feel really tender...in these times and this heat, perhaps something should be changed.

11/07/2026: The legendary bar at Hotel Laurin in the heart of Bolzano. Exclusively and beautifully furnished, it offers everything a classic bar should, plus delicious food and a unique atmosphere. Even in winter, with its crackling fireplace, it's our absolute favorite!

05/07/2026: Wonderful garden, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Too bad the coffee was truly terrible and the waitress treated us as if we'd bothered her. Rude and surly right up to the end: she didn't even say goodbye when I paid for the two coffees before leaving.

19/05/2026: Most terrible experience ever! I booked in months advance, hidden costs and policies were communicated only after check-in. So we threw out double the price than any other nearby hotel for nothing. Now they don’t answer my emails for months and do t even bother to update their infos. Never again.

18/05/2026: We've been coming to the Hotel Citta for many years. Unfortunately, we have to say that it has declined significantly recently. In March, we reported a leaking water pipe in the bathroom, with puddles of water in front of the sink. Nothing was done about it. Now we were there with friends, and the hairdryer was broken—it was replaced with another broken one. Doesn't anyone check things before replacing them?! During the night, hotel guests were partying in their rooms and left their trash outside (pizza boxes with leftovers and other garbage). At 10:00 a.m., the mess was still there, even though cleaning staff had already been there. Are they all just fed up and incapable of doing their jobs? Even worse, and it's almost unbearable, are the pigeons outside the outdoor dining area. The bored staff just watches as the pigeons knock everything over on the uncleared tables, and six to eight pigeons even knock over glasses and dishes. The staff sees this and doesn't really react, and if you say anything, they just shrug. The other bars and cafes manage it. They clear away quickly and leave nothing behind. We always enjoyed coming here and are now unsure whether we'll book at the Citta again.

22/06/2026: We visited this bistro based on the many positive reviews – and we can only say: the enthusiasm is absolutely justified! The dumplings we ordered were a dream: wonderfully prepared, bursting with flavor, and simply delicious. We almost tried to coax the secret recipe out of them – but the friendly server remained steadfast and didn't reveal it completely 😉. We were particularly surprised that the bistro was significantly less crowded than the neighboring restaurant. Perhaps many people are dazzled by the large crowds and overlook where the true quality lies. Everything here is just right! The food was outstanding, the service warm, attentive, and second to none. You feel welcome from the very first moment. In short: 5 stars aren't enough. We'd love to give a few extra for the food, service, and atmosphere! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

23/05/2026: The most delicious strudel I have ever eaten — fresh, homemade, and absolutely unforgettable. The americano was amazing as well, both the taste and the presentation. The waiter was incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. We truly enjoyed every moment and honestly can’t wait to come back to this place again.

18/05/2026: Breakfast: was good, coffee very good. There was scrambled egg on the buffet, but no fresh egg dishes; very fresh fruit. The pastries weren't homemade. Otherwise, a solid standard buffet. Room: We specifically booked a room with a view of the vineyards and paid extra for it, but in the end, it mostly looked out onto the hotel entrance. We reserved an expensive garage space and then discovered on-site that there were plenty of free parking spaces outside. Beware: There's no shower available after check-out, and the pool is cold/the outdoor shower is also cold. The bus to Bolzano stops right outside.

21/04/2026: There are really many good hotels in this area - choose another place than this one. We arrived at 10:05 pm after a long drive and had deliberately chosen the hotel because of the air conditioning - which unfortunately did not work. The kitchen was just closed, but after some hesitation we were offered a "sandwich" and some greens. In practice it was dry breakfast bread with ham and cheese and a plate of greens, where the salad was brown and clearly not fresh. It was not something that should be served. The room was nice, but completely unbearable to stay in. The temperature was well over 25 degrees, and there was no working air conditioning - despite the fact that it is stated in the hotel description. After a shower the room felt like a sauna. When we pointed out the problem, it was dismissed by the receptionist (presumably the owner), who insisted that it was not hot and suggested that we could just open the windows. We explained that this was not an option for us, but were met with a somewhat dismissive tone. We asked if it was possible to get another room that had not been in the sun all day, but this was flatly refused. The result was that we – tired and overheated – left the hotel before midnight and ended up paying around 400 euros for having been there for only a short time. We cannot recommend a hotel that markets facilities that do not work, while simultaneously rejecting the guest experience. We felt misled, and our experience did not match what was promised when booking.
