05/04/2024: Order the Pici al ragu bianco di cinta senese is an unmissable dish: the pici is a type of fat spaghetti, made handmade and typical of Tuscany, served in this if applicable, with ragu bianco (without tomato) from local pig, the so-called cinta senese, known for its intense flavor and succulent meat

01/04/2024: We stopped here for lunch whilst exploring Siena and had a great meal in the alley outside of the restaurant. We tried the cheese tarte as an appetizer and the ossobucco and pork pan as a main dish and everything was excellent.

17/04/2024: Finally, after many years, it happened again. After the tasting menu, I looked at my digestif and was: simply happy. But first things first. On a fairly rainy Easter Monday we arrived half an hour earlier than reserved, which was no problem at all. Service was quick in the rustic, pleasant atmosphere. We both opted for the tasting menu including wine accompaniment, but asked for another course; we didn't want to miss the fried artichoke with orange hollandaise (rightly, as it turned out). Our request to start the wine tasting with a Prosecco was immediately granted and the first course started quite quickly. Already after the second course it was clear that each course was deliberately tailored to 2-3 flavors that harmonized wonderfully, which the boss confirmed to us in a later conversation. This makes reducing things to the essentials fun. The order and conception of the menu were perfect for us. The wine pairing was precise, the selection was noble and demonstrated expertise. As a digestif I wanted a grappa that was soft but not too sweet or a rhum that was not too sweet. I was surprised with a grappa aged in a rhum cask called "Hija ilegitima", which at 57% vol. had a wonderful balance between softness and character, another wow moment. One thing is certain, even if it takes us over an hour to get there: we'll be back.

05/04/2024: A typical Tuscan culinary experience, very tasty and well prepared food, young and very polite staff, probably students at this school.

03/04/2024: Scam with menus displayed on their site which do not exist. The waiter refused, indicating that the menus must be reserved because they require more preparation time. The price is therefore higher to eat the same thing. However, the dishes were good and well served but nothing exceptional.

06/04/2024: Very welcoming place, a few steps from Piazza del Campo. Attentive and courteous staff! The owner was very polite and hospitable. Delicious food, I highly recommend the pork fillet with braised spring onions and potatoes. Normal prices. We will definitely see each other again when we return to Siena.

30/03/2024: Had lunch here two weeks ago, the two guys who run the place manage to immediately put you at ease, the place is very large, but at the same time well-kept and welcoming. The cuisine is of quality, the explanations are clear and illustrated with professionalism. Fair prices, they also have no problem offering coffee and bitters at the end of the meal, if we were to return to Siena we will already have a point of reference!

12/05/2024: They don't take reservations for lunch, so I recommend getting a little ahead of other customers. We arrived around 12.40 on a Saturday during a holiday period, but we were the ones who went out to find a seat. Typical local products of truly high quality; welcoming, informal and relaxing atmosphere. We shared a long table with another group of vacationers. Highly recommended!

29/04/2024: First of all when we arrived the staff were very grumpy, and then they tried to cheat us because it says takeaway sandwiches but when you order they only offer you two slices of bread. All for 8 euros. Mass tourism is fine but more honest would be better! We ran away.

11/05/2024: Little jewellery - both restaurant and the Monticchiello village. Good food with a selection of 600 wine labels available. Best ricotta flan ever had. Great staff, the sommelier has a solid knowledge not only on Tuscan wines but as well he knows to compare with world wines. Stunning location as well.

29/04/2024: Finalmente dopo diversi tentativi siamo riusciti a cenare in questo bellissimo ristorante proprio all'ingresso di Montichiello, borgo meraviglioso!. Accoglienza perfetta e cibo oltre ogni aspettativa in quanto si ha la possibilità di mangiare cibo della tradizione con qualche nota di modernità. Servizio eccellente e ambiente confortevole. Complimenti!

31/03/2024: Luckily this restaurant is off the beaten track! beautiful room with modern furniture. Awkward service but definitely improvable with some care. Good Sicilian cuisine, modern plating. It doesn't match the reviews read but it has potential!

28/03/2024: The quality is unquestionable, but the price is too high

01/04/2024: I went for dinner last week with my husband, we had two fettuccine with porcini mushrooms, a platter with ham and cheese for one person, a portion of cantucci with vin santo, two glasses of red wine, a coffee. We spent around €85.00 which was definitely very expensive. Good fettuccine but with few porcini mushrooms... only at the Pantheon in Rome do you spend these amounts, but you are in the center of Rome and in a decidedly more refined and elegant environment. I recommend reducing prices as also suggested by the fellow citizens of Chianciano themselves.

06/04/2024: I recently ate at Angelo’s with my family of 10 during our visit to Siena. We had an incredible lunch over a few bottles of wine while visiting with Angelo. Great food and excellent wine selection with an even better atmosphere. 10/10 for us.

05/04/2024: I thought I have had a great sandwich before. I had not. Now I have. Complete with world class Italian red wines at retail pricing. If you’re in town and like food and great experiences, come here.
