17/10/2025: We stopped by this winery without a reservation, just hoping to do a quick tasting. Instead, we ended up spending over two hours with the owner Cristina, and her husband, and their son — and it turned into one of the most genuine experiences of our trip. They treated us like family, even serving us homemade Italian beans alongside the wines. The tasting was relaxed and unhurried, full of great conversation and laughter. You can really feel the pride and love they put into their wine and hospitality. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic, down-to-earth experience where you’re made to feel right at home.

14/10/2025: Absolutely a must-visit! The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the surrounding nature was simply stunning. It was a real pleasure to experience a small family-run winery and to learn more about the history of wine and the beautiful Tuscan region. A perfect gift and a wonderful getaway!

02/08/2025: Entirely forgettable pumpkin soup, instead of "cream of mushrooms and truffles" we got some tartufata from a supermarket, cold roast beef (as a main dish), tiny side dishes, no plates for couverts (i.e. dry bread). Truly disappointing, particularly given the reviews.

The progression is coherent and well-paced, with portions that whet the appetite without tiring. The Florentine steak is the highlight of the dinner. The cut is generous, the grilling exemplary, the crust dry and caramelized, the center pink and juicy, the fibers relaxed after resting, the salt intelligently measured. It's a cooking method that respects tradition without stiffening it, resulting in a fragrant, long-lasting meat with a clean finish and a hint of grilled meat that remains polite and precise. The service is an added value. Punctual timing, discreet attention, genuine courtesy. The dining room operates at a pace, without overloading or leaving empty spaces, and maintains the same quality from welcome to farewell. It's a professionalism that doesn't raise its voice and, precisely for this reason, stands out. Wines: Antinori's Il Bruciato was a perfect choice. The modern profile of the Bolgheri blend—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah from Tenuta Guado al Tasso—brings forth well-defined dark fruit, gentle spice, and supple tannins, with a texture that supports the meat without overpowering its flavor. It's a pairing that finds a natural meeting point between the sweetness of the Maillard reaction on the crust and the balsamic component of the wine, concluding the sip on a balanced texture. The location beneath the loggias of Piazza Mercatale, in addition to its charm, offers a convenience not often found in the city; here, the atmosphere remains composed and pleasant, and the urban context, rich in mercantile history, provides a backdrop without stealing the show from the table. It's the kind of setting that fosters a successful meal from start to finish. This trattoria is therefore a place with character, grounded in tradition and capable of meticulous execution. 14/10/2025: In the historic center of Prato, a restaurant with ancient flavors. Refined cuisine combining balance and tradition. If you come, don't miss the meatballs, the paccheri with Prato mortadella, and if you're lucky, you'll taste a dessert that won us over: fig cheesecake, a true delight! A perfect team, from the chefs to the staff. We'll definitely be back!

05/11/2025: Great place for aperitifs, dinner, and maybe even a quick after-dinner stop! A modern, well-kept venue with excellent cocktails. It's a shame the appetizers are so meager for a €20 aperitif.

22/07/2025: A Mystical Experience I've rarely had the opportunity to experience such a beautiful dining experience. Dining at Pepe Nero Restaurant is like this: it's engaging with new, unusual flavors, it's seeing and tasting modern and traditional cuisine at the same time, the refined, expert, and sophisticated touch of those who, it's clear, have always been part of Great Cuisine. Each course is a surprise, to be appreciated first with the eyes and then with the palate. I always choose the tasting menu, so I can try a variety of flavors on the ever-changing menus: the cauliflower, red shrimp, and licorice risotto was a true delight, the Milanese-style red mullet with cabbage and grilled risotto was a delicacy, the stuffed squid was delicious and incredibly tender, accompanied by artichokes, black garlic, and Prato vermouth. And I won't even mention the culinary journey offered before lunch, with delicious small portions that literally ignite the senses. The staff is young, friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. The experience at Pepe Nero in Prato is a treat I always enjoy whenever I can. Thank you!

25/06/2025: It was a pleasant surprise! I went to lunch with my wife and son. We chose this restaurant because we had heard good things about it but we were a little afraid that it was the classic restaurant with expensive but extremely poor dishes… We wanted to try the experience anyway and we came away enthusiastic! The prices are absolutely fair and not too high but above all the quality is very high! Both in the choice of raw materials and in the skill in preparing the dishes we fell in love with it! We shared an appetizer among 3 of us (just to nibble something while waiting for the first courses) and incredibly the dish was sufficiently abundant to allow everyone to eat enough to appreciate it. Afterwards each of us had a first course and as an accompaniment we chose a bottle of white wine (it cost 18 euros and the wine list is fantastic! There are bottles of all types and from all over the world). Even for the first courses the quantity of the courses was generous and both my wife and my son struggled to finish… I was “forced” to help them a little… eheh! Having tasted all three first courses, I can say that the skill of those who work in the kitchen is truly exceptional! Congratulations! To finish, my wife and I shared a second course. We were very pleased to receive the dish already divided into two plates. The extremely professional and kind service is another strong point of this restaurant. In total, we spent 97 euros (so about 32 euros per person). We did not have dessert or coffee because we were full and satisfied. In the end, the expense was more than acceptable and I have rarely been so happy after paying the bill. We will definitely return every now and then to be lulled and spoiled with such quality.

17/10/2025: We can only give a review about the ice cream. We've never had stracciatella ice cream that was so good. The cookie and lemon flavors were also very popular.

06/09/2025: What can I say about a mix of flavors, but you have to start from the beginning. Since it's fig and porcini season, we trusted the owner's advice and ordered a Carmignano fig tartare with caramelized onions and goat cheese cream; then we had an excellent porcini mushroom carpaccio... And to finish, a tagliolini with porcini mushrooms that was simply amazing. If you haven't been, I recommend you try it and then tell us what you think!

28/09/2025: ATTENTION: THEY'VE STARTED CHARGING €5 FOR A MEMBERSHIP BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THEY'RE A CLUB—THAT'S NOT PUBLISHED ANYWHERE (the sign outside the establishment says "Associazione S. Stefano ma non circolo")—AND I DON'T KNOW IF SUCH A THING CAN BE LEGAL! NON-MEMBERS ARE DENIED ENTRY! As for the food, it's very good, but they don't have the traditional menu where you can see what's on offer and the prices... I don't know if it's mandatory for establishments to have a menu, but I'd still like to be able to see how much I'm spending, otherwise I might feel like I'm being ripped off!

04/10/2025: Fantastic experience. What more can I say? Everything was perfect. The atmosphere, the service, the presentation of the dishes, and their flavor. Kudos to the entire staff, made up of very welcoming and professional young people who thoroughly explained the dishes and the matching wines. It truly deserves its Michelin star. We'll be back to try the cheeses, which look delicious.

08/05/2025: typical meeting place for an aperitif or aperitif located along the Viareggio promenade in an excellent position just a few steps from the sea where you can enjoy the sunset while sipping a good cocktail with a platter of mixed appetizers, prices consistent with the environment and quality

20/10/2025: Large place, lots of people. I noticed, despite the crowd, I was able to talk to my friends (very well soundproofed). The food is excellent, from their tortelli to the pizzas... Everything is good. I recommend it. Book in advance.
