I absolutely don't want to take anything away from other lovely pastry shops in the city, but in my opinion, Caffè Valiani is a cut above the rest, especially for the atmosphere in this magnificent location. I've had breakfast at this beautiful and historic Pistoia café several times. The cream-filled croissant is very good, and the prices are average—in fact, slightly lower than some of the more well-known cafés in my city. The rice pudding is fantastic.

15/09/2025: I'm sorry to have to write this review because in my opinion, the place deserves it. It's completely surrounded by greenery, but the service was definitely terrible. I made a reservation, and it was very, very foggy that day (it wasn't raining). I still got there after a half-hour walk to get there, and they were closed. I don't question their decision to close, it's a personal choice, but isn't it customary to let customers who have reservations know??? I saved myself an hour's walk (there and back) in the thick fog, and also the whole drive since I was coming from Florence. I'm disappointed because it was my boyfriend's birthday and we basically didn't have lunch. If they'd let me know, I would have planned differently. It looks nice from the photos, but we won't be back.

16/08/2025: The people were incredibly kind and helpful. My girlfriend and I were welcomed like real guests. The refuge only accepts cash payments, and we only had a debit card. Nevertheless, they offered us two slices of tart (which was delicious, by the way!), a large bottle of water, and coffee. All without asking! We were almost embarrassed and didn't know how to thank them. The perfect way to end a beautiful day in the woods! Thanks again.

21/08/2025: A Coffee Break with Areas for Improvement I stopped for a quick break at the coffee area of ​​the Coop supermarket in the Montecatini shopping center, hoping for quick, quality service. The location is undoubtedly convenient for those shopping or visiting the center, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by some negative aspects that I hope can serve as constructive input. My first impression was that the staff was very rushed and poorly organized. There seemed to be no clearly defined roles: the same person who took my order for a sandwich to heat then moved to the coffee counter, started making other preparations, and completely forgot about my request. After waiting a bit, I took the liberty of asking another colleague about my sandwich, who reacted with a clearly annoyed expression, almost making me feel like I was in the way. The overall impression was one of poor customer service, almost as if the presence of customers was more of a nuisance than an opportunity. The aspect that left me most perplexed and disappointed, however, was the hygiene. There were slices of pizza displayed in the window, and, to my great dismay, I noticed a large green fly sitting on them, intent on feasting. I tried to report it to the staff as discreetly and politely as possible, but my observation was completely ignored, as if I hadn't spoken. In conclusion, while the convenient location is a plus, such sloppy service and a gross disregard for basic hygiene standards made my visit anything but pleasant. I sincerely hope this review will be taken as a suggestion for improvement, because there's plenty of potential for a positive experience.

13/12/2025: Nothing to complain about the food, which is excellent, but the experience was made unpleasant by the waitresses, who are definitely not capable of handling the public. After an hour and a half of waiting for a pizza, they even had the nerve to treat us rudely and respond unprofessionally. I recommend this place only if you're nearby and not in a hurry, because the pizza is worth it.

20/04/2026: It's a historic building, and its age is evident, but the atmosphere is cheerful, the staff are friendly, and the quality of the food is good. It needs a complete renovation; I think it's been more or less the same since it was built in the 1950s.

14/04/2026: I had the misfortune of having to set foot there on March 28, 2026, and I bitterly regret it. The place is dark, dirty, and extremely noisy. The staff are rude locals who talk to you as if you were their friend with zero professionalism and zero manners. The price of everything is truly exorbitant and unjustified. When there's an event, there's a €5 cover charge, which is absolutely shameful and immoral. I strongly advise against it.
