We ate well, and I really enjoyed the raw sausage—that's the Tuscan favorite! Nice location, good food, but one flaw: it was at our table. The meat wasn't cold, but it arrived late.
26/01/2026: Nice, well-maintained restaurant. The meat is freshly cut at the adjoining butcher's shop. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I stumbled upon it by accident, but I'll definitely be back and highly recommend it.

An abundance of food and it wasn’t very pricy!
29/06/2026: This is an equestrian farm with more than 45 well-groomed horses in various enclosures, access to which is restricted by permits. The manager, a friendly man in his sixties wearing white clowns, offers reasonably priced fixed-menu lunches, from appetizers to desserts (28 euros for adults and 15 euros for children under 15). The environment is clean, equipped with children's playground equipment and ample parking. It is located at 650 meters above sea level between San Marcello Pistoiese and Gavinana.

06/07/2026: The place is quaint and centrally located. The rooms are classic but extremely clean. The owner takes great care of his guests. The cuisine is traditional and very good. I think I'll be back.

02/11/2025: I stayed at the Porta Franca refuge for lunch and dinner, staying in a shared room! What can I say? A wonderful experience, made even more so by the generous and kind welcome we received from the CAI volunteers! They were attentive and thoughtful, and I must say, very friendly! Honorable mention goes to Mrs. Cinzia and the other chef (forgive me, I don't remember her name) who delighted us with delicious dishes! Thanks also to our contact Alessandro, especially for the strudel he gave me for the return trip! Thank you so much!
07/10/2025: A lovely place to stop for a bite to eat or grab something to eat directly at the refuge. The food is spectacular and delicious.

18/06/2026: Waiters absent for two hours, almost two and a half for 4 starters, two mixed grills and two slices of thinly sliced steak like a chop, let's leave the grill alone, it's a shame, the place is wonderful, but it's not worth travelling all that way to eat so badly.
17/01/2026: Beautiful and welcoming atmosphere; they lit a fireplace in the dining room for us, and it truly created a wonderful atmosphere.
The staff is made up of young people, with an average age of 22, who are truly capable, courteous, and efficient. My compliments, truly.
The food is delicious, made with their own ingredients... in fact, by touring the farm, you can see Cinta Senese pigs and other animals grazing.
In the tranquility of the mountains above San Marcello Pistoiese, a wonderful discovery.
It's also great for picnics; they even have barbecues available for you to cook your own meat!
