06/10/2025: This restaurant is nestled in one of the most photographed alleys in Cortona and represents everything you think about Italy, character, beauty, and uniqueness. The food and drinks are all prepared to the highest quality and originality. Vegetarian entrees elevated on both flavor profile and plating. The creativity of each entree are truly noteworthy. There were six in our party which allowed for each of us to try a different option and share with each other. My favorite is the tartare, both visually and taste profile, it's fireworks on a plate, it just makes you happy looking at it and eating it continues that happiness. I highly recommend this restaurant for your consideration.

19/09/2025: It can’t get any better than this! Located in the heart of Cortona but still off the beaten track, this restaurant convinced us with delicious and authentic Tuscan cuisine. The staff members were welcoming and very attentive. Although they were fully booked, we still got a table outside close to the entrance where we could have a view of the alley.

17/09/2025: This is one of many locations for eating lunch or dinner in Cortona, Italy. Yet, this restaurant is one you should not miss. The location is away from but not far from tourists centers and attractions making it quiet and easy. The atmosphere is stylish, bright and well appointed with decorations inside. And, outside there are several small tables on an entrance patio. The wine list is exhaustingly long so ask for recommendations. The food is superb and I would recommend: Patate al Rosemary and Cipolla for sides then a Bistecca Fiorent (T-bone 2 lb) to split between 2 people for the main. Save room for splitting the Charlot Mascarpone. The service is attentive, polite, and knowledgeable.

21/09/2025: On the recommendation of friends, we went to this osteria. The dish we had to try was the Chianti risotto. Our expectations were very high, and we can say they were fully met. It's an unexpected dish (in the realm of pici and lasagna), and we'd definitely recommend it. Be warned, cinnamon is one of the ingredients. We'll be back on our next visit to Cortona.

28/09/2025: The Neapolitan pizza was very good and easy to digest. They were willing to make some adjustments to my wife's pizza, as she has an intolerance. The frittatina was also good, although I think it needed just a minute more cooking since it was a bit cold in the center, but this didn't affect the quality of the product. The service was very friendly and fast despite the restaurant being busy. The wine selection was also good (with a recommended pairing directly on the menu) and beer selection. The space was a bit cramped and noisy, but that's normal for a pizzeria, so it's fine. I recommend it to anyone in the Cortona/Camucia area who wants a good pizza at a reasonable price.

28/09/2025: All in all, their pizza is worth trying... we had a few service hiccups with long waits, but the owner immediately apologized and offered a discount on our next dinner! It seemed like a great compromise for the inconvenience, considering that unexpected things can happen!

09/09/2025: Dinner on August 15th. There were lots of people around and the Steak Festival, but since it was crazy, we opted for this trattoria. They welcomed us, letting us come back half an hour later (which was late for them) and finding us a table, even though we hadn't booked. They were very kind and welcoming. We opted for the meat, which was delicious. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

12/09/2025: We booked four nights here based on a recommendation and, of course, went to the restaurant to enjoy the local cuisine. The tagliolini with truffles, pappardelle with ragu, the "elephant's ear," and the baccala: brilliant! If we hadn't already booked other restaurants, I would definitely eat there again! The accommodation is also fantastic, with breakfast, a pool, etc. They also have their own winery, and I'll definitely do a bit of shopping!

02/09/2025: A perfect stay. The property is meticulously maintained, the prices are fair, the restaurant food is exceptional, and the service is impeccable. Stefano is a host who pays attention to detail and definitely knows his stuff.

18/08/2025: Beautiful villa nestled in the countryside just minutes from Cortona. Peace and relaxation reign supreme here! The staff were extremely kind and attentive. We were also kindly upgraded to a junior suite, which was very elegant and spacious!

01/10/2025: I have eaten here several times at lunch for pasta, this was a first dinner and for meat. After reading the menu, none of us could decide, so we asked the staff for recommendation. The choices were amazing, she brought both types out for us to review and approve. We selected a 30 day and 60 day and chiana, each was delivered and we had time to enjoy it before the second came out. Excellent wine recommendation and side dishes really complemented the meat. Highly recommend this restaurant.

28/09/2025: This is a gem of a find and has become our "local" when we are in Cortona. A truly Italian experience. Not touristy but tourists are welcomed. The bruschetta is outstanding as are some of the other very local dishes. Seriously try the potatoes and tomatoes. A very tasty surprise. Don't miss this spot!

17/09/2025: We were invited to celebrate a baptism in late summer 2025, outdoors. The secluded location is ideal, offering parking and tranquility. Excellent food.

07/09/2025: Beautiful location, sparse and sometimes aloof service but fine (and in our case very good the first night)! Very children forward…great if that is what you are looking for. We traveled without kids and wanted some quiet and for our stay…pool was a zoo and very loud. Dinner was good, not great—but super nice to have it right onsite and in a nice setting.

12/09/2025: My husband and I attended a wedding in Cortona and stayed at La Corte dei Papi in late August for a week. It was SPLENDID. The setting, our room and the view, lovely pool and grounds, delicious breakfast and absolutely the most polite and accommodating staff. Room service was so efficient and nice. I needed a hairdresser and they recommended a superb local person who came to my room and was an artist. David was particularly attentive. If I could live there, I'd move in tomorrow. It will be our only choice to stay when we visit Tuscany again.

17/08/2025: I cannot recommend a trip to Relais La Corte Dei Papi enough! The property is beautiful, serene, and idyllic for a Tuscan getaway. We had dinner on site all three nights of our stay, which was always incredible and it was so nice to not have to leave the property. Also during our stay my husband and I took a cooking class with one of their chefs which was so fun and one of the highlights of our trips. David and his entire staff are wonderful and were extremely helpful throughout our stay.

05/09/2025: I was definitely unlucky. Really, because I can't explain how it could have happened. I dine alone; they seat me in the little square before entering the restaurant. The waiter is very kind and brings me water and bread. First complaint: the pepper mill was visibly dirty. They change it immediately. I order a knife-cut tartare, a fillet steak, and baked potatoes. The tartare isn't knife-cut tartare, but minced. The meat is delicious, but the texture is a shame. Then the drama. The first fillet that arrives is so small that I asked if it was the right portion. The waiter agrees and takes it back, along with the potatoes. I wait less than 10 minutes, and the second fillet arrives, along with the potatoes. Unfortunately, the meat was cold. Tender, flavorful, but cold. The only positive note is the potatoes: flavorful and piping hot. I'm attaching a photo of the second fillet.

28/08/2025: The filet of beef was chewy and rare and I ordered medium rare. One male staff was rude and it was not a good experience. Save your money and go somewhere else!
