Relais La Corte dei Papi In Cortona

We had a wonderful stay at Corte Dei Papi. The staff upgraded our room free of charge when we arrived and were always available and helpful whenever we needed anything. The owner served us during dinner and informed us about their top notch wines that they produce themselves. The food and wine were delicious and fairly priced in their cozy and atmospheric restaurant. I cannot recommend this place enough if you’re planning a trip to Tuscany!

Absolutely lovely place to stay. Quiet, beautiful rooms, easy to get to Cortona by car. Delicious food and incredibly helpful staff. Thank you for looking after us!

What a fantastic vacation my husband and I had at this beautiful property. They had everything and more that we could have hoped for. From their spacious beautiful suites to their gourmet dinners. David and his team went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They even arranged for us a winery tour with a driver that took us all over Tuscany. I’m looking forward to coming back to this upscale Tuscany experience.

It's difficult not to go on, I'll try with a list of pros and cons. Against: - in the room (paid around €3,000 for 4 nights) we had a non-working telephone, a non-working kettle, a bathroom door that did not open/close correctly and a broken jacuzzi drain. - we immediately asked for the room to be refilled with a lot of water (we drink a lot), but every time we only found the two bottles in the minibar and that was it. At our repeated request, a couple of jugs were brought to us first. The last two days we bought water at the conad. And luckily, since €45 of water was charged to our checkout account. - light lunch: on the second day we had a cold lunch in the structure, consisting of a slice of cold cuts and cheeses (not required), two capresi, a water. €88 on your checkout account. We really struggle to justify this blunder, especially in the absence of a menu with prices. - various precautions, for example at breakfast we reported on the first day that the biscuits were all expired, on the second day there was no yoghurt, the bar area seemed a bit desolate to us. Pros: - the structure is beautiful and externally super well-kept - the jacuzzi and Turkish bath inside the room (despite the above-mentioned defect) are real jewels, unique in the area, on which you can certainly focus more, for example with a herbal tea corner. We asked for some herbal tea, they brought us 4 tea bags which we couldn't consume anyway due to the kettle not working. - the staff is extremely kind and helpful and they even gave us a free bottle of wine at checkout. In summary, we absolutely do not want to say that we had a bad stay but from a 5-star structure the expectation is different. The €88 light lunch certainly leaves a bad taste in our mouth not because of a question of money but because of the sense of non-transparency.

Difficile non dilungarsi, ci provo con un elenco di pro e contro. Contro: - in camera (pagata circa 3mila € per 4 notti) avevamo telefono non funzionante, bollitore non funzionante, porta del bagno che non si apriva/chiudeva correttamente e scarico jacuzzi rotto. - abbiamo da subito chiesto ci venisse rifornita la camera con parecchia acqua (beviamo molto), ma ogni volta trovavamo solo le due bottigliette nel frigobar e basta. Su nostra ripetuta richiesta, il primo ci sono state portate un paio di caraffe. Gli ultimi due giorni abbiamo comprato l'acqua alla conad. E per fortuna, visto che sul conto di checkout ci sono stati addebitati 45€ di acqua. - light lunch: il secondo giorno abbiamo consumato un pranzo freddo in struttura, costituito da un taglierino di salumi e formaggi (non richiesto), due capresi, un'acqua. 88€ sul conto di checkout. Facciamo davvero troppa fatica a giustificare questo sproposito, soprattutto in assenza di un menù con prezzi. - accortezze varie, per esempio a colazione abbiamo segnalato il primo giorno che le fette biscottate erano tutte scadute, il secondo giorno mancava lo yogurt, l'area bar ci è sembrata un po' desolata.. Pro: - la struttura è bellissima ed esternamente super curata - la jacuzzi e bagno turco interni alla camera (nonostante il difetto di cui sopra) sono dei veri gioielli, un unicum nella zona, su cui si può sicuramente puntare di più ad esempio con un angolino tisane. Noi abbiamo richiesto qualche tisana, ci hanno portato 4 bustine di tè che non abbiamo comunque potuto consumare per via del bollitore non funzionante. - il personale è estremamente gentile e disponibile e ci hanno anche omaggiato di una bottiglia di vino al momento del checkout. In sintesi, non vogliamo assolutamente affermare di aver trascorso un brutto soggiorno ma da una struttura a 5 stelle l'aspettativa è un'altra. Gli 88€euro di light lunch ci lasciano di sicuro l'amaro in bocca non per una questione di soldi ma per il senso di non trasparenza.

Ótimo hotel! Recepção excelente com frutas e espumante no quarto. Suite aconchegante, banheiro espaçoso e banho maravilhoso. Jantar e café da manhã gostosos. O único porém que fiica um pouco distante do centro de Cotorna (para ir a pé). Não dá para deixar o carro no hotel e caminhar.

My wife and I stayed at Relais La Corte Dei Papi while vacationing in Italy for a few nights. I could not speak highly enough for how incredible of a stay this was. Would highly recommend anyone staying near Cortona - and will go as far as to say we will go out of our way next time in Italy to ensure we come back for at least 2-3 nights. You are greeted upon arrival with beautiful, lush grounds that sets the luxurious tone for the rest of your stay. The staff was very nice, gave us a personal touch, and skilled in ensuring a no-friction stay for deep relaxation. Our room was perfect, I would recommend upgrading to one of the rooms that include a jacuzzi as a must-have! Our dinner exceeded expectations in every regard. We are still talking about the food (especially Ossobuco), our wine pairing was perfect, and the service was executed better than places my wife and I have been at significantly above this price point. Great job, we will be ordering your wine and I cannot wait to return!

Relais La Corte Dei Papi was the final leg of our 3-stop Italian honeymoon, and we truly could not have ended on a more superb note. Our first impression was complete awe, as the grounds were lush and stunning, even in late October. The service was impeccable, David the owner is so kind and welcoming, and the front desk staff is incredibly helpful, especially Greta. They made restaurant and car reservations for us, and everything was exceptional. The story of this property is lovely, and the rooms were incredibly clean. I can't recommend this hotel enough, you won't be disappointed.
