All the dishes we tried were merely average in taste; the tomato sauce tasted like it came straight from a jar.
The service was inattentive and bored. The restaurant's listing in the Osterie d'Italia (even this year) is incomprehensible.

INCREDIBLE! If you are fortunate to have Arnaldo the owner as your server, don’t even bother with the menu, just trust him to take care of everything. We didn’t just have good food and wine - we had a wonderful experience sharing this meal together. After dinner, as the staff were busy closing shop, we went inside to ask about wines and Arnaldo stopped what he was doing and spent 10-15 minutes explaining his wines and what makes a “naturale” wine so special. Do not miss this opportunity in Cortona! The fake “tonno” was a standout. Gracie Arnaldo!

We love this place for its authentic and historic ingredients. They take their time and offer classic and farm to table ingredients. Very polite, informative and professional staff. Like stepping back into Time...
The space seems historical, in a way...almost like a farm trattoria. 👍🙌

A place with excellent food, but also quite expensive. The waiters were slow to bring the dishes and distracted.
Wonderful atmosphere, but avoid the pastrami.

Nice and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is varied but always the same (except for a few daily specials). Excellent wine list.
The cheese platter we shared was decent but nothing special, with only one type of cheese and not a lot of cold cuts. The giardiniera tastes only of vinegar and is too expensive. The tartare is average quality, served with thinly sliced bread. The egg with truffle was quite good, as was the dessert (1 shared). The price is definitely a sore point (€75 for the dishes mentioned above plus a glass of wine and water is definitely too much). Perhaps it's because the place is very popular with tourists.

If the restaurants around you are occupied by loud Americans, check it out. It's a great place for locals, with delicious food and friendly service. We left satisfied.
