08/11/2025: The staff is rude and arrogant, even towards pregnant women. Not to mention the food is PITYFUL, cold, and sticky. Move away, but don't stay there.

15/08/2025: My favorite bakery. Delicious products. Superb scacciata!

06/09/2025: Clean and well-stocked. Friendly staff. I recommend trying the bakery's products, such as pizza bases or focaccia.

04/09/2025: The place was dirty and messy, it felt like a landfill. I was served by a child who looked like he was 12 without following any hygiene rules. The sandwich was poor quality and the meat was of questionable origin. It was very expensive compared to other competitors. I would not recommend anyone to eat here. It's truly dirty and poorly managed. Dirty tables, broken chairs... anything but welcoming.

04/09/2025: The food isn't gourmet, but it's good. Most importantly, it's warm. The service is friendly. As other reviews have said, it's perfect for a late-night meal after arriving in Sicily.

17/12/2025: I returned after years for an aperitivo (reinforced to the point 😱) Everything was very good, rich and even refined: good cured meats, phenomenal meatballs, caponata that reminded me of my grandmother, slices of bread with primo sale cheese and horse meat strips, pumpkin gnocchi, and those wings🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤. etc etc.... The attention of the two (I think the owners) to ensure we didn't miss anything, the attentive, friendly service.

23/10/2025: Shameful... I was urgently denied access to the bathroom while pregnant. I entered this establishment and politely asked if it was possible to use the restroom. I was told that access was only for customers, and therefore, a drink was required. I explained that I was in an advanced stage of pregnancy (ninth month, clearly visible), but I was still rudely denied access, arguing that "I'm misinformed" in believing pregnant women have the right to use the restroom. I would like to clarify that access to the restroom should not be denied to children, people with disabilities, and pregnant women, precisely because of their particular conditions, which entail urgent physiological needs. This is not a personal favor, but a basic form of respect and civility. While there is no national law explicitly requiring establishments to provide restroom access to non-consumers, refusing access in situations of objective necessity can be considered discriminatory and contrary to minimum standards of hospitality. This is the first place I've encountered such a refusal. Other establishments, even highly frequented ones, have always been understanding and accommodating in similar cases. An attitude like the one encountered today does not do credit to those who manage a public establishment. I hope this report leads to a broader reflection on the sense of social responsibility towards people in special circumstances.

24/02/2026: Indeed, the only quality product here was my bottled Coke... Potato oil, rubbery horse steak, beef riddled with fatty bits, carbonara pasta crudely Frenchified (with crème fraîche and two lardons that looked like they were fighting each other...) AND, the absolute worst: a hair in the Bolognese pasta!!! You'd think it was their signature, judging by the reviews. As a certain wise man with a long beard would say: "Run, you poor fools!"

22/02/2026: ❗️❗️❗️Dear travelers, we strongly advise avoiding this restaurant ❗️❗️❗️ The service was extremely rude! We were practically asked to leave simply because we wanted to order cocktails only. The staff were rude and unprofessional, and based on our experience, I cannot recommend this place. Avoid this restaurant 🙏

18/10/2025: I do not recommend the food is terrible, it stinks, there was no alcohol in the Aperol, the fish soup was disgusting, I vomited after it, I was sick and so were my friends

15/10/2025: Came in for a drink, the front man with the braids (sorry didn’t get his name!) is fantastic, really welcoming, nice beer and decent price. Cares about the presentation and told someone off for littering outside his bar. Gave us a free snack to apologise the kitchen was closed for technical reasons. 10/10

08/01/2026: The food is good, but the real problem is the lazy staff who seem to be doing you a favor by stuffing your sandwich. Sandwich with 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of cheese: €2.50

03/09/2025: A coffee costs €2.50, as if we were at Punta Penia 🤭 100 meters away it costs less than half. A perfectly normal bar in the city, to be honest, is a bit shabby, served by an old lady who, with all the good will in my opinion, physically couldn't manage a bar like this, which is also quite large. If it were run by young and brilliant staff, it would be a completely different story. I spent about €14 for breakfast: a bombardino, two coffees, and two croissants.

15/08/2025: Rude staff with excessive prices (two bottles of water at the counter cost €2.40) and they refused to give us a receipt. Only after several requests and paying by credit card did they finally do so, calling us rude names. Don't go to this bar.

14/12/2025: In summary: a terrible place. The Aperol Spritz was practically just syrup, served in a very small portion, and on top of that it was twice as expensive as in a place just 20 meters away on the same street. The restroom was in a terrible condition, with a wet floor and a general lack of cleanliness. You also need to be very careful with the bill, as we could have been overcharged if we hadn’t paid close attention. We chose this place because of the nice view, which turned out to be completely overpriced. Despite the venue supposedly being closed, people kept coming in to ask for money or try to sell some cheap junk, and the waitresses didn’t seem to care at all.

21/12/2025: A cozy, quiet place. I stood there for two days waiting to be loaded. I liked everything. There's a shower (key-to-key), and the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

28/10/2025: This is the fourth time I've stopped at this service station and each time it's been a terrible experience, slow and inefficient staff, long waits not just for food but even for a simple coffee... exorbitant prices... (a sandwich almost 8 euros and a coke 3 euros 9), dirty and unsanitary bathrooms and I could go on. Even though we travel often, we've never had similar experiences... if I could I would avoid it but unfortunately it's the last service station for our destination.

17/12/2025: Today I went to the Calatabiano store where I had also shopped last week and had updated my MD app, which was properly recognized by the cashier. Today, my code disappeared from my app, preventing me from using the discounted products. I asked the cashier, the same one from last week, and she said there was nothing she could do. In other supermarkets like Conad, Lidly, Paghi Poco, etc., even if I don't have a barcode, all I have to do is enter my mobile number and the customer is recognized. Why not at MD?

26/11/2025: I went shopping at the MD in CALATABIANO. I put some yogurt pots in the basket and unfortunately one broke. When I got to the checkout, I mentioned this to the cashier (a blonde foreigner) because I'm a polite person and instead of leaving it down like so many other people do, I took it to the checkout to avoid making a mess. The cashier in question made me pay for it, saying that if I wanted to take it home, she would give me a little bag to put it in. I looked at her and told her she could throw it in the basket; 50 cents wouldn't change my life. But the question arises spontaneously... How come when this happens, supermarkets in northern Italy take the product back and replace it with a healthy one, but not here in Sicily!!! I'm talking about the MD in Milan, of which I've been a loyal customer for years... Don't the same rules apply??? Give these people a crash course!!!

18/12/2025: Nice place, friendly staff, threw up immediately because of the poorly cooked food.

03/12/2025: I don't think I'll ever order again. The food isn't bad, so if I have the chance, I might go there. But unfortunately, ordering means waiting who knows how long it takes for your order to arrive, only to be disappointed because they made a mistake. I've avoided leaving a review several times because I understand mistakes can happen, but after yet another disappointment, I think it's fair.
