05/01/2026: Bar Sgroi was very close to our apartment, so we went there for breakfast twice in a row. There was a vast selection of sweet pastries (and traditional savory delicacies like arancini), including cream-filled trecce, croissants, and Nutella-filled saccottini. We sat at the tables inside (there's also an outdoor seating area) and drank excellent coffees and cappuccinos, served by attentive and always very friendly staff. Highly recommended!!!!!!

13/12/2025: The girl at the counter was very kind and professional. The gentleman who served us, I think the owner, is a jack of all trades, serving food (nothing special) and cashing in. Many places in Catania do this, where hygiene standards aren't respected. You can't serve food, even if you don't touch it, and then immediately touch money. Aside from the regulations, just the thought makes me a little sick.

11/01/2026: It was magnificent, the arancini were truly delicious. The best thing is that they serve them fresh, so they fry them on the spot. 10 out of 10.

30/12/2025: I'm vegan, and the arancini are excellent, although I think the eggplant should be removed from the pistachio one. Unfortunately, I didn't like the desserts; the fillings seem to be made almost entirely of cornstarch/potato starch. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful.

01/03/2026: I visited this pizzeria last night and was impressed. The pizza dough is truly incredible: light, well-leavened, and made with top-quality ingredients. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the wait was minimal even though it was packed. We'll definitely be back.

01/03/2026: We had lunch here after visiting Mount Etna, and we were immediately greeted by a warm and genuine welcome from the owner and Luca, the restaurant manager. Decorated in Sicilian style, with meticulous attention to detail, the cuisine is traditional yet sophisticated. You can tell the dishes are prepared with top-quality ingredients, from the appetizers to the first and second courses. Even the dessert was delicious...perfectly balanced flavors. An excellent selection of wines, especially Sicilian ones. The atmosphere is designed to make you feel at home. I recommend it to those with discerning palates who appreciate those who put their heart and soul into their restaurant work, with professionalism and passion. I will be returning with others very soon. Congratulations and good luck!

26/12/2025: 20251217 The staff were very friendly; even with a slight language barrier, they patiently explained the food. The café had a great atmosphere, with Wi-Fi and power outlets available. The sea salt caramel chocolate tart was delicious, perfectly balanced between sweet and savory, the chocolate was very smooth, and the crust wasn't too hard. Very satisfied. The tapas were recommended by the staff (because I said I wasn't very hungry and just wanted a small snack). Each flavor was well-balanced. My favorite was the yogurt blueberry flavor—very refreshing. They also had ham with balsamic vinegar, smoked salmon, and pickled tomato flavors, all of which were delicious.

09/03/2026: I had dinner here with my family, and it goes without saying how charming the atmosphere on Via Santa Filomena is. The food was good, but unfortunately, I was disappointed by the service, given the passive, bored, and listless attitude of one of the waitresses. I understand the tiredness, but at the beginning of a Monday evening...unfortunately, working with people means knowing how to be engaging and helpful; that's not for everyone!

02/11/2025: It was a lovely surprise; on a trip to Scordia, we were truly blessed to find this place. The atmosphere is welcoming and very nice, the staff are kind and professional, and the price is reasonable for the quality.

20/10/2025: Visit to Scordia on Sunday, October 19. A restaurant with a menu that caters to all tastes. The portions are generous, and the schiacciata version with sausage is a must-try. It's stellar, thin pasta with well-matched ingredients. Second course: Tuna with onion, soft and delicious. And finally, the caponata, made really well. And congratulations, a wide selection of wines by the glass and an extensive wine list with top labels. Well done, keep it up. See you soon, Salvatore.

22/02/2026: I hadn't been there in years, but it's still a firm favourite for the food, the friendliness, and the reasonable prices. I took friends there and they were very satisfied. The dishes are generous and delicious. The pork shank is highly recommended and one of the best dishes in my opinion.
