26/08/2025: We ordered a tartare, spaghetti Palermo-style, and grilled octopus with chickpea hummus. The first two were good, but the octopus arrived clearly burned and bitter. We reported this to the manager and sent the dish back. The manager came back and told us that the preparation was correct and that they could just vary the cooking and bake it. To cut to the chase, we decided to switch dishes and order another spaghetti dish. Unfortunately, I'm forced to give one star for the terrible treatment at the checkout: we were charged half the price of the octopus because "it was prepared correctly!" Half of the octopus burned at the till and a customer who will definitely not return.

26/07/2025: Strange and unexpectedly unpleasant experience. Definitely not to be repeated. Such a nice location but such a poor quality. Have to wait the dish and attention for ages despite there are not so many tables. This is the attitude to clients. Menu was not given , only four options of available dishes were just written on the table on the wall. My dish was impossible to eat, too spicy. Had to wait again for their second try. I cant say I was happy about that, it was already too late and we had a long way back home. They also included in the bill "additional service" 3.5 euro per person (!)although we didn't have any idea about and we weren't warned about it too. Me and my friends find it very unfair to have hidden costs and not to be given a menu to know what to expect. In this place a client never knows how much he will pay at the end. Ride and unfriendly attitude. Money but not client oriented . (I also noticed they reply very rude to negative comments and reviews of people that means there are no changes expected as they are always right). OK , go on

10/09/2025: A lovely restaurant in the heart of Messina, well-run by Mr. Giamboi. I've been here for dinner three times and the food has always been excellent. Open kitchen, attractive tables, and a good wine list.

04/09/2025: Very disappointing and unjustifiably overpriced. The quality of the food is decent, with one downside regarding the starter: the mini eggplants, a discovery for me, have a very thick, unpleasant skin. But the quantities are ridiculous considering the price (see photos), and the fish (a simple piece of sea bream) comes with no accompaniment. The white wine is decent but served sparingly. No lighting on the terrace except for the tiny lamp on my table. The atmosphere is gloomy with no one else around. In short, I won't bother.

14/09/2025: Yes, okay, a nice place with attentive staff. A good effort isn't really a good job. The pizza was okay (but not really more than that). My fish arrived when my husband had finished his pizza (which wasn't prepared in a flash, since most of the guests here seem to only eat pizza): a "local" fish (forgot the name), grilled, for a whopping €31.50 (!!!) for 450g – about 150 meters from the sea or the harbor. But it was prepared with absolutely insignificant flavor and without any refinement (spices, herb/garlic butter, etc.), not a separate plate for the bones! Along with a few thin slices of run-of-the-mill white bread, and for another €7, a small plate with a handful of thin slices of eggplant and zucchini (I'd completely skipped the tomatoes). Salt, pepper, and oil were only available upon request, and toward the end, the staff (several times!) took your plates from the table while you were still holding your cutlery and chewing, regardless of whether you might have wanted to eat the remaining bread with olive oil, for example. Friends of Italian cuisine: I can get a meal like this in the middle of Germany, in Munich, hundreds of kilometers from the nearest sea, much tastier, more lovingly prepared, and even cheaper – that's simply unheard of! Completely overpriced and overrated.

19/09/2025: You can eat anything, and it's all good. The owner's elegance overshadows some of the waiters, who are good but less charismatic.

15/09/2025: Very nice and welcoming place, kind and knowledgeable staff. All the food was good except the rice with porcini mushrooms, which was dry and undercooked, otherwise everything was ok.

18/10/2025: Excellent restaurant, a guarantee. The pizza is also really good.

13/10/2025: Good food, especially the appetizers. The fettuccine with porcini mushrooms and sausage wasn't at all what I imagined, lacking flavor and lacking any cream. The service was prompt and friendly.

27/10/2025: Watch the campanile till the noon hour with its animatronic show of lions roaring, roosters crowing, and priests bowing. Then step over to one of the top places for pizza in all of Italy. Best and most Sicilian is the Pizza Disgraziata, which our server Marco highly recommended to us, and which New Orleans knows from Sicilian immigrant Salvatore Lupo as the Muffaletta sandwich of Central Grocery. But the pagnotta bread in Messina is the best we’ve ever had, superior I must confess to that used by its New Orleans cousin. A glass of house red and you’ll be ready for the climb to Christo Re!

26/10/2025: Everything is very well organized, from the service to the presentation of the dishes. The pizza I ordered was really good, with a thin, crispy crust, and the ingredients were fresh. I found the prices fair for the quality offered. The restaurant is also very well located and has a modern yet welcoming style. Ideal for a quiet, stress-free meal in the city center. Without a doubt, a place I would return to without hesitation.

15/10/2025: The waitstaff was significantly better than in other restaurants we've visited in Italy. They really try, which unfortunately isn't always the case elsewhere. The prices are also very good. The food is tastefully presented and delicious. The restaurant is beautiful, with plenty of space. The background music is not too loud, conducive to relaxation.

09/06/2025: It was a fabulous experience... we come from Turin, my wife and I were in Catania for work... and we came to them recommended on Thursday and Friday evening. The passion of the girl at the tables makes you feel the enthusiasm and love they put into it. And we found all this love in the dishes: they are one word FABULOUS. On the first day we had a fish soup, then paccheri with fish and almonds and then a fried food. The sauces were mixed together like on few occasions we have found. The desserts were also superlative. On the second day we varied with 3 other appetizers and a new first course of scialatelli always with fish, pine nuts etc. and then with a fish and eggplant skewer. Everything fabulous. Our compliments because we almost never write reviews but you made me think of Montalbano and how much he loved good Catania food. Congratulations, keep it up because we found all the love you put into your dishes. Andrea and Viktoria

06/09/2025: We could have had a great evening! The setting is pleasant with a sea view, and the tables are well-arranged on a comfortable terrace. The service? We felt like we were intruding from the aperitif to dessert. So, the language barrier, fine. But not a word during the entire meal. Not a smile; we felt uncomfortable. It's a shame. We won't be going back, despite the meal being quite good.

11/10/2025: Avoid seafood appetizers, especially raw fish. I spent the night on the toilet! Avoid, especially the waiter who smells of cigarette smoke. Never again.

27/06/2025: Even though it's surrounded by several buildings, this place really surprised me with its tranquility and intimacy. It's a very quiet place with excellent service. The food is delicious and of good quality. I highly recommend stopping by; everything is truly excellent.

12/10/2025: I ordered Italian pasta, which was truly delicious, with a homemade sauce and perfectly cooked. You can tell they use quality ingredients and that everything is prepared with care. The service was excellent; the staff was very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. The atmosphere is pleasant, with a warm, family feel that makes you feel at ease from the moment you arrive. I found the prices reasonable for the quality. Overall, a highly recommended place and I will definitely return.

09/10/2025: This place is in the catagory of southern Italy food. We looked at the menu on Google, the dishes look nice. But when we went into the place, the menu is totally different. The food is not typical Italian, very fusion. The dishes taste like the food served in Big Daddy's in US. We came to Italy over 10 times. These are the worst food we ever had in Italy.
