25/08/2026: Bar and bistro located in the charming village of Monte Sant'Angelo in the province of Foggia. Simple and elegant location on three levels. The first courses are good, especially the orecchiette with turnip tops and the mixed roast. The service is good, and the quality/price ratio is average.

24/08/2026: Highly recommended! Generous portions, good food, reasonable prices. Great for a lunch stop!

16/08/2026: Easter Monday menu. €45 per person. The kitchen is very slow to prepare, and the waiters are inexperienced. The food was very good, even though the portions were small.

14/08/2026: The pizza was good, the orecchiette was good, but the small portion of mussels tasted only of water, and there wasn't even a piece of bread included. How are we supposed to get full? Dessert? No thanks. The best thing was the Lambrusco, which is store-bought, so you can't really go wrong with it. Now, let's talk about the service, if you can even call it that. A young guy, looking about 15, took about 15-20 minutes to slam the memory cards down on the table, then another 15 minutes to take our drink order. Eventually, the drinks were served and the food order was taken—so far, so good. At least we could sip the good wine in the meantime. It felt like an eternity later, and I was able to fill up on the few mussels I had 😂. The extra bread I ordered never turned up; it probably got lost on its way to me. What a shame 😢. Then you think, okay, I'm still hungry after that feast, so I'll order a nice dessert. Far from it. Profiteroles? We're out. Tiramisu? We don't have any today. What do you have? Semifreddo? Okay, we'll have that then. Then a piece of self-purchased semifreddo arrives. No thanks, I don't need that. I've never experienced anything like this in Italy: unfriendly, slow, and then this portion of mussels without bread, mind you. No thanks. It was pure disappointment, and I had to leave hungry again.

26/04/2026: Stomach ache since yesterday, burnt pizza, but apparently that's a feature of the place. I don't recommend it.

14/09/2025: We wanted to enjoy a pizza from this place and asked if it was possible to take it away, since our child was asleep in the camper. Unfortunately, we were told that takeaway pizza was not available. Just a few minutes later, however, we saw some locals picking up pizzas to go. This was disappointing and made us feel treated differently as visitors. Later, we also asked if it was possible to change some money for parking, but were told that they had no cash at all.

22/08/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A pleasant stop during our motorcycle tour During a motorcycle tour of the Gargano Peninsula, we stopped at the Bar Pasticceria Villa di San Giovanni for a break and refreshments, and we were truly satisfied. We tried their gelato, which is definitely worth a mention: a gelato with distinct and recognizable flavors, where each flavor maintains its own personality, without that unfortunately common feeling that all flavors taste the same. The coffee cream was also excellent, truly tasty and enjoyable, accompanied, of course, by a good coffee. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating, making the stop even more enjoyable. The outdoor patio was also much appreciated, ideal for sitting and enjoying some fresh air: the light, refreshing breeze is just what we need to take a break from the Gargano heat on these summer days. A stop that came about almost by chance during our motorcycle tour, but it left a great impression on us. Definitely a place to return to.

21/08/2026: I had to endure a lecture because I could only pay by card, along with a reminder of the numerous ATMs I could withdraw money from. So, I'll be polite and go elsewhere.

05/11/2025: We stopped in Foggia for a couple of days and had breakfast at this café. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff is friendly. The guy at the coffee machine was very good. I had a really good latte macchiato. It's a shame, though, that the brioches (Venetian and a similar chocolate one) didn't live up to my high expectations. I didn't like them at all. Next time I'll try the croissants.

18/04/2026: Bad experience. We arrived at 9:00 PM and ordered two pizzas. While waiting, we ate a portion of fries. After about two hours, we asked for the pizza times. When we received no response, we decided to leave. At the cashier, we were told that our pizza order hadn't been placed, so we decided to pay for the order and leave. Bad experience.

08/04/2026: I had lunch at the Buongustaio restaurant and pizzeria in Ortanova (Foggia). What can I say? I had my doubts, but I had a great time. The atmosphere was nice and bright, and the food was delicious. I will definitely be back.

27/12/2025: You order a cappuccino and a croissant, and the croissant arrives hot. Then, after a long, long time, when the croissant is cold, the cappuccino arrives only because you've urged the (rude) staff countless times. Rather, bring everything very slowly but together. I won't add anything else.
