Very nice and welcoming place, quality meat in all its types served, very good starters and desserts too, excellent staff, with the waitress who mostly looked after our table, friendly, kind and helpful, who was able to advise and reassure even one of us who was intolerant. 22/04/2025: Sono stato in questo locale a pranzo, in gruppo (eravamo 15 persone). Location carina, non molto grande ma comunque accogliente. Menu che offre prodotti locali, quasi tutto a base di carne e formaggi. Punto positivo: tutti i piani sono senza lattosio. Essendo in gruppo abbiamo fatto un mix di antipasti, nello specifico tagliere di salumi e formaggi, salsiccia di cavallo in umido, tartare di asino e polpette. Come piatto principale io ho mangiato lo stracotto di pecora che ha richiesto molto tempo, ma ne è valsa la pena. Assaggiato anche gli ziti, buoni! Abbiamo anche assaggiato le bombette, fritte e quindi non quelle classiche. Tra i dolci ho provato la pastiera, che meritava. Bevuto vari vini (8 bottiglie in tutto). Prezzi onesti.

05/05/2025: We ate a pizza for lunch during the kite festival on Sunday 4 May. The place is still being set up for the summer season but the atmosphere, despite the massive presence of people, was calm. The pizza has a very light dough with the right consistency. I recommend the Salinella with tuna, red onion and capers, very good. We will definitely be back.

01/06/2025: Matrimonio del 30.05.2025 È stato tutto meraviglioso, location stupenda, manu e qualità del cibo eccellenti, servizio impeccabile, merito anche del Direttore Martino che è stato perfetto e gentilissimo con noi sposi. Giornata indimenticabile in tutti sensi, e per grande merita di tenuta Menelao.

09/05/2025: - very pretty interior court and patio, lots of greenery, very nice in this town of Lecce, you can have breakfast outside, breakfast that I really appreciated, location 800m from the historic center, - this establishment has 9 rooms, it hosts a lot of events, weddings, etc.... we stayed 2 nights and there were 2 weddings, fortunately our room was on the side where it was quiet.... otherwise, impossible to sleep, pay attention to this detail - the sofas in common areas are old and not very clean... why not replace them? - the rooms are quite nice but damp, high ceilings, the bed was rather uncomfortable for this type of establishment, deformed on both sides where people sleep...

11/06/2025: L' antico forno, nel centro storico di Mesagne, prende il nome dal forno antico che viene ancora utilizzato sapientemente da Francesco (il titolare) per cuocere una succulenta carne alla brace. Non il solito ristorante per turisti, il livello delle materia prime con cui vengono preparati i piatti è altissimo, com' è di altissimo livello l' esecuzione degli stessi. Siamo stati coccolati per tutta la cena, che dire "semplicemente Divino" Consigliatissimo!!!
