04/07/2026: The value for money here is truly excellent! Not the best pizza I've ever eaten, but still a good one. The service was also very attentive and friendly. Furthermore, the pizzeria's location is very good (quiet). We'll definitely be back.

31/05/2026: Good morning, I slept on it, but I couldn't help but write these feelings of mine. Last night, the two of me went to dinner at the local borghetto, a place I've been to before where I've had a great time. However, last night we opted for fish, and it was a disappointment. We had the "seafood fantasy" appetizer. I must say it was very imaginative, because the fish had run away!!! I wanted to burn and reheat a frozen meatball, a slofud, scallops made with lots of flour mixed together, and an anchovy in vinegar that I shouldn't eat. Finally, I found a hair that I reported, but they very casually ignored it. House wine, a first course, two desserts, and a coffee. A beautiful and dishonest sum of 95 euros without even mentioning the hair or how they had enjoyed the dinner. I must say, very disappointing.

27/05/2026: Good fish dishes and good pizzas at reasonable prices. The fish salad is delicious, as are the house wine and the tiramisu. The service is friendly and attentive. We've eaten there several times. Highly recommended.

22/03/2026: We tried Pizzeria Origano in Calenzano, ordering two takeout pizzas—a Margherita with artichokes and a Quattro Formaggi—and were truly impressed! The dough is simply among the best we've ever tasted: light, well-leavened, and highly digestible. You can immediately taste the quality, and every bite confirms the attention to detail. The ingredients are also top-notch, perfectly enhancing the final result. Both pizzas were exceptional, tasty, and perfectly balanced in flavor. Plus, the staff was very helpful and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Definitely a pizzeria we'll return to often—highly recommended.

21/03/2026: Thank goodness this delightful little place exists in Calenzano! The round pizza is delicious, from the dough to the quality ingredients and the many flavors to choose from, along with many beautiful and delicious desserts. Plus, the girl at the cashier is incredibly kind, really nice and helpful—well done!!! I'll be back to try many more flavors of pizza, both round and sliced, and various desserts!

23/06/2026: La Quercia was without a doubt one of the best restaurants I've ever tried. I'll start by saying that the owner was incredibly kind and helpful. The location is wonderful, completely immersed in greenery, an oasis of peace, and it's also extremely clean. And now comes the highlight! The menu offered so many interesting and original options, a quality that's hard to find these days. The flavors and aromas were intoxicating. Each dish was prepared and served with the utmost care. The desserts were not only beautiful to look at but also delicious. I recommend everyone to visit La Quercia and if I could, I'd give it 10 stars! My husband and I will definitely be back; we love traveling and reviewing such special and unique places!

09/07/2026: Somewhat off the beaten track and not signposted, you'll find a charming little restaurant with delicious food at reasonable prices. The service is very friendly and they offer tips about the surrounding area. The pizza is crispy and tasty. The smoked tuna carpaccio is fantastic. I'd gladly come back!

As my compatriot Pellegrino would have stated in his famous 1891 manual, cooking is a mischievous activity, but when it is based on the wisdom of yeast, it can dispense a happiness that restores the spirit. The decor of the establishment is graceful and orderly, an environment where the good taste and meticulous hygiene of the baking trays immediately catch the eye of the most attentive diner. The young staff manage the service with commendable courtesy and promptness, welcoming each customer with a courtesy that recalls times gone by. The schiacciate, pizzas, and savory delicacies are superbly light, the result of masterful craftsmanship that does not in any way offend the delicate functions of the stomach. The pastry is fragrant and the toppings are impeccably fresh: even my trusty Marietta would have asked for the secret of such craftsmanship, capable of satisfying with substance without causing the nagging of late-night thirst. The price tag also faithfully adheres to the sound principles of household economy, proving to be a more than fair price and proportionate to the sublime quality lavished upon them. 08/02/2026: Magnificent! It's a 1861 villa, very tastefully refurbished in c. 2023 into a chic hotel. We were 2 adults and 2 small children. Loved our stay there, and the cons noted below are very minor. Beautiful place! PROS + Location. It's only 20min away from Alagna, and there are circa 15 parking spaces at the entrance to the Villa. + Standard of finishes and the interior decor. This place just looks amazing. It's superbly renovated and very tastefully decorated. + Well equipped. Couldn't really ask for more. (Maybe bigger mugs would be nice to have some tea) + Warm inside. We were here in the winter, it was -5 outside, and 22 inside. + The children playroom - great feature. Most of toys are for children aged 1 to 5, which suited us perfectly. + The library / reading room. Two standing shelves full of books, an eclectic selection of everything. 90% of books in Italian, with some 5 volumes in English and the rest in German. + Quiet. Even though our room was facing the main road, there wasn't any traffic during the night that might bring any noise. + Gigantic super-king size bed, double-sized sleeping sofa, and a sitting sofa in the kitchen. + Lift providing access to all floors. + Amazing panoramic view from our apartment, overlooking the road below, and the mountains all around. CONS - We couldn't give our kids a bath, as the shower didn't have a hand-held shower head, only the high level one. We were there only for 3 nights so it wasn't the end of the world though. - Just barely enough supplies, with no kitchen paper towels, just one washing machine tablet. - Not entirely child-proof. Historical chest of drawers beneath the windows are surely gorgeous, but our kids kept on crawling onto them and tried to open the windows. - Difficult and steep entrance road from the main road.

17/09/2025: I stayed in this villa in the early 1960s, during the summer when it was a summer camp for children from the Biella area. I only have a few very pleasant memories, both of the structure and of the walks in the surrounding area. And also of the delicious baked stuffed onions they sometimes served with meals.

30/04/2026: I love this place—the simple, welcoming setting, the incredibly kind staff, and the excellent pizza. I went on Sunday with my boyfriend, and the gentleman who served us was incredibly nice. I had the chance to try both the pizza and the pizzone, and of the two, I recommend the pizzone to share. You can choose up to three flavors, and it's perfect for two people. Thanks so much, guys!

08/12/2025: I asked my neighbors in San Concordio where they like to get a pizza and it's easy to see why they told me to go to here. This is a classic, proper place to get pizza in Lucca. It's not Napoletano-style pizza, but a more proper local/Tuscan style. It's delicious and priced extremely well. I recommend only getting the larger pizza if you're going to split it with someone. Otherwise, the smaller size is great for an individual. They also have slices if that's all you need or if you want to try a couple different types! Expect a 10 to 15 minute wait for the pizza to be cooked.

13/04/2026: €30 for a first course and a small plate of caponata. But the worst part was the service charge. €3 each for eating on a paper placemat. Dishonest in my opinion!
