27/12/2025: A real discovery! Every time I need pizza, I know I have to travel to the suburbs, but for this one, I'm happy to do so. Excellent pizza by the slice with a very light and digestible dough (you can taste the long leavening). The toppings are sophisticated and top-quality: special mention for the Carbonara, and the mozzarella is delicious. The staff is quick and friendly. Fair prices for the quality. I'll definitely be back.
24/11/2025: I ordered two round pizzas to take away. I went to pick them up at the agreed time, but the pizzas weren't ready. I waited 30 minutes and they were delivered cold and not even cooked enough. The dough was rubbery, and one of the two pizzas was even missing some ingredients. Terrible experience. I don't think I'll be a customer anymore.

24/12/2025: A restaurant pub with a good selection of craft beers, but not overly sophisticated ones. It's a shame the bartender doesn't know that the correct way to pour a can of beer (6.50 33-gallon cans) is to let the foam form to eliminate excess carbon dioxide (CO₂), known as proper pouring.
When I pointed out that beer shouldn't be poured that way, he replied, "You're not a regular."

31/12/2025: Eight of us went for dinner, and we didn't expect much and left pleasantly surprised and satisfied. The place is simple, a bar-pizzeria, but well-kept and clean. The service is managed by two very young people, kind, helpful, and professional. They're present but never intrusive. The cuisine offers a nice variety of dishes, especially first courses, all very good and "homemade," meaning carefully prepared. The appetizers are also delicious, and the desserts exquisite. The house-made fried fish and focaccia were very popular. The pizzas (which we didn't order, but looked at) also looked excellent. The price is absolutely fair and reasonable. Highly recommended.

28/01/2026: Excellent quality, truly tender. The fried porcini mushrooms are also delicious.
31/12/2025: The seafood appetizer and calamarata with octopus ragù were very generous. The tuna steak with the off-menu porcini mushroom option cost us €4 more (a bit excessive considering the meager amount of porcini mushrooms). It's a shame, because even though everything was delicious, the dinner was ruined by mosquitoes.

I wouldn't recommend it for families, especially young kids.

25/12/2025: A nice pizzeria/gelateria in the center of Monsummano. The pizzas are good and varied. I'm giving it four stars, however, because they're really small. You can choose between "small" and "large" pizzas, but the "large" ones are still much smaller than a regular pizza. In fact, every time I go with friends, we have to order at least two each. Otherwise, everything is excellent, and the artisanal gelato is very good.

08/12/2025: I asked my neighbors in San Concordio where they like to get a pizza and it's easy to see why they told me to go to here.
This is a classic, proper place to get pizza in Lucca. It's not Napoletano-style pizza, but a more proper local/Tuscan style. It's delicious and priced extremely well.
I recommend only getting the larger pizza if you're going to split it with someone. Otherwise, the smaller size is great for an individual. They also have slices if that's all you need or if you want to try a couple different types!
Expect a 10 to 15 minute wait for the pizza to be cooked.
31/10/2025: I went today after touring the Comics Fair, and I have to say the pizza I ate was truly excellent and reasonably priced.
Highly recommended.

05/02/2026: Despite the quality of the pizza and the good service, I was truly shocked to see stray cats in the restaurant. Cats roaming freely on the tables, perches, or chairs, and being fed by customers. Truly shameful.

26/09/2025: We went there with some friends to eat a pizza, which I would describe as really good: not thick, well-topped, crispy, excellent, whether Kamut, wholemeal or wheat flour. The place is often full, I would recommend booking, large parking and quality service, I can only recommend it, obviously there are not only pizzas but you can eat everything and with satisfaction.
11/09/2025: A recommendation from a friend. I wasn’t disappointed. Excellent pizza, I like these thin and crispy pizza bases. The usual classics and a few novelty toppings. Booking advisable at the weekend.

15/02/2026: Il Pizzaiuolo pizzeria is without a doubt one of the best restaurants we tried during our stay. They simply had the best pizzas we ate in Florence: perfect dough, fresh and generous ingredients, impeccably cooked… a delight from start to finish!
We also tried the seafood risotto, which was absolutely succulent, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. A true delight.
For dessert, the tiramisu was fantastic, light and indulgent just the way we like it, and the Nutella panna cotta… pure bliss!
The service was also top-notch: a very friendly, smiling, and attentive waitress.
An address we wholeheartedly recommend! 🍕🇮🇹
