17/11/2025: Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't keep its website up to date. When we wanted to go, there was a note on the door saying they were on vacation. It's already difficult enough to find a restaurant that's still open in October. A few days later, we finally managed to get in. We enjoyed the pizza we ordered, especially because it didn't have salicia on it, like so many others. I don't like the taste of that sausage.

07/01/2026: Good value for money, worth it for a gem like this. Not to mention the view. Lots of appetizers, 2 first courses, and the grilled meat. The pasta with sauce was excellent. As for the rest, I have to say everything was good. The staff was courteous and attentive, with a special mention for Flavia. We'll definitely be back.

28/01/2026: Welcoming, with many beautiful lamps that pleasantly illuminate the space, good wines, and classic Bolognese dishes, including tortellini and passatelli in broth, ricotta tortelloni, and a generously sized cutlet Bolognese (I recommend ordering one for two), crescentine with cured meats and squacquerone cheese. The baked pumpkin vegetables are delicious, as are the delicious roast potatoes, and the exquisite cardoons with butter and parmesan. And to finish off your meal, a delicious cream ice cream with Fabbri black cherries or a Minerbio pudding.

02/03/2026: Yesterday we went to Cerami for dinner. We're from Syracuse, and having fallen in love with Catania and the spirit of the people of Catania, we decided, despite our significant disabilities, to venture out... and evidently things don't happen by chance, because, amidst our uncertain steps, we found this lovely little place. I must say that, initially, I thought it would be very difficult due to the brightness inside, which, at first glance, seemed impossible for two eyes like mine to handle without causing me some trouble. As soon as we entered, we were immediately greeted by a staff member, a kind voice that led us to our brightly lit table. I don't know if they've ever worked with people with visual impairments, but I can assure you that he knew exactly how to handle the situation, making us feel welcome, accepted, and above all treated with respect, which is not a given. We often find the opposite extremes, either total indifference or over-attention, almost suffocating. However, this kind young man, along with his colleagues of course, were kind. What struck me was how he guided us through everything: he briefly described the table, where the glasses were, and the menu with the QR code; the same goes for the courses, although it's obvious, they told us where the plates were placed. Despite our visual impairment, we are very independent, but we're pleased when a restaurant welcomes us this way, not making us feel out of place, but above all welcoming, just as the people of Catania often do. We ate very well. The service was quick and orderly, allowing us to enjoy dinner without plates overlapping. The pizza dough is important, yet delicate, and the toppings were quite generous. We also ordered baked potatoes, which we didn't photograph: they were large, melt-in-the-mouth... Once dinner was finished, we were helped to the cashier to pay. A very kind gentleman with a little white cloud (the dog) also helped us. This place has remained in my heart. It's one of those places that makes you fall in love right away... I recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable evening with someone or even alone. Congratulations again to all the staff, we'll definitely be back ♥️

19/02/2026: My wife had a very delicious lunch of pasta and involtini. The owner was very gracious. The restaurant is in the center of the town. Castroreale is a beautiful place located high on a mountain with views to the sea and the Aeolian Islands. So a good place for good food and a walk around town to take in the views.

07/12/2025: PortoMatto in Avola was a delightful discovery. I ordered a first course, a truly delicious risotto: well-creamed, flavorful, but never heavy. The restaurant is elegant, with attention to detail, and the background music is not too loud and very pleasant, allowing for a peaceful conversation. Special praise goes to the table service: professional, attentive, but never intrusive. I'd especially like to highlight the kindness and empathy of the waiter, Giovanni, who really worked hard to find a solution for my wife's particularly restricted diet, trying to accommodate her in every way possible. In the end, she didn't order anything, but his face showed genuine disappointment, a sign of genuine care for the customer. Overall, a very positive experience: highly recommended.
