Respektlos: Es wird der Eindruck vermittelt als ob der Inhaber der Pizzeria dem Kunden einen Gefallen tut indem er die Pizza kocht obwohl für das Abendessen einen Preis bezahlt wird. Nie mehr!!! Dafür gibt es viele andere viel bessere Orte in der nähe.

18/07/2024: Amazing spot! The pizzas were delicious. We had the Capricciosa and the proscuitto crudo with extra buffola mozzarella. After the pizzas we were completely full. The staff is very friendly, especially to our child. In the toilet there is even a changing table for babies which is a good sign, it means that they think about how they can take care of all their guests. We will definitely try to come by once again.

14/07/2024: I have known Nonno Marcello since he was called Marcello, the name of his grandfather who founded this extraordinary diner which in the evening also becomes a rotisserie and pizzeria. I have practically had lunch and dinner at Nonno Marcello's for 40 years, ever since I came with my parents. The first courses, as well as the second courses and side dishes, are all freshly made, always hot and very tasty. The flavors are the same as always, that is, traditional Bari cuisine. I, who love tomato sauce very much, always find a huge variety of extraordinary dishes: lasagna, baked pasta, macaroni with sauce. And what about the best meatballs with meat sauce in the world, stuffed mussels, meatloaves, sausages, fish, fried fish etc. It is impossible to list all the very high quality recipes that can be enjoyed at Nonno Marcello. Furthermore, Nonno Marcello is a favorite destination for illustrious people from the world of art: the well-known Italian guitarist Franco Cerri, every time he came to Puglia and Bari, before going to the hotel asked me to take him to Marcello. Here he took no less than two portions of Broad Beans and Chicories seasoned with only an extraordinary extra virgin olive oil. And then in the evening: classic panzerotti (with tomato and mozzarella, meat, or with strong ricotta), classic or salmon arancini, potato croquettes, pizzas etc. etc. And then the pizzas. In short, if you want to enjoy typical cuisine in a traditional, simple, practical and genuine environment, sitting at a long counter at the display windows of ready-made dishes, or sitting in the room with table service, Grandpa Marcello is almost always my favorite choice and the most sincere advice. The costs are extremely honest. Extreme courtesy, kindness, speed of service, all in a family style and always with a smile. Grandfather Marcello is all this and much more. Also highly recommended for tourists who want to live a typically city experience for the first time. All my foreign friends, in Bari for work, always ask me to return to Nonno Marcello.

29/08/2024: We had dinner at this place on Monday 26 August. Good food. Improbable prices, to name one, 33cl beer €3.50. When at that price in other places you are served a 66cl beer. It should be considered that our saving, if we want to call it that, and that only in three of the diners they drank beer and coffee as can be clearly seen from the receipt (two 33 cl each) the first during a 45 minute wait and the other during consumption. If all the guests had consumed beer and a coffee at the end of dinner, we would have had to add around €60 to the bill. So, doing some calculations, for 2 croquettes each, 1 meatball and 10 chips (which by the way we ordered more fried because the portions were super small) 1 pizza, to drink + coffee, they are around €25 each. Therefore I will not return and do not recommend this place at all. You spend much less elsewhere!

10/08/2024: Good local meat quality. Service is chaotic but always emphatic. Be patient and flexible and everything will be served. Delicious sweets of the house. Good value for money to spend an evening in the internal area of Vieste. Original and accurate ambience to have dinner in the large garden. Booking higly recommended.
