He was able to recommend the seafood appetizer at Il Gabbiano, which turned out to be an exceptional choice: incredibly fresh fish, exquisite flavors, and generous portions. The homemade desserts also deserve a special mention. We chose the pistachio cheesecake, and it was simply delicious: creamy, balanced, and full of flavor, one of the best we've ever tasted. 31/10/2025: This is a nice place with good food, hidden away from the main street, but conveniently near the train station. We had steak, tagliatelle bolognese and sea bass (which came with delicious vegetables), all freshly cooked. The staff was nice and attentive.

16/03/2026: I have nothing but praise for this place. Such kindness and professionalism are not something you see every day. The waiter was extremely attentive and friendly, and the food was excellent. I would also like to highlight their homemade wine, which was fantastic. The restaurant is located away from the main tourist area, so we had the feeling of being among locals, which made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for a lovely restaurant with delicious food and, above all, a peaceful place to enjoy a coffee, I highly recommend it. We will gladly come back again! A perfect 10/10!

31/03/2026: Disappointing. The spaghetti was too hard, the accompanying clams small and still in their shells. A huge hassle to pick at them. The seafood platter was poor. Small portion, presented without care. The asparagus was overcooked and looked like it had been run over by a truck multiple times.

19/05/2026: We just happened to walk past here at the right time when there was a table available. The cicchetti were so delicious and so many options to choose from. The house wine fantastic and a bargain at 2.50 Euro per glass! The service was so warm and friendly. We can't wait to come back!

I sat inside looking out through an open window at the canal and it was a perfect, low-key last night in a city I have come to adore.

The view of the canal in Venice is splendid and creates a unique atmosphere. The location is beautiful and welcoming, with reasonable prices for the quality offered. 16/07/2025: Excelente restaurante ligeramente fuera de los caminos trillados. Buena comida y precios razonables dada la ubicación. Las porciones sólidas de pasta y el estaban contentos con hacer sustituciones porque mi compañero de comedor no quería mariscos. El servicio fue genial.

07/06/2026: Luckily, we had booked ahead of time; the place was packed on a Sunday lunch! We had three appetizers: polenta and schie, frittoin appetizer, which is a mixed seafood dish including scallops, cod, and a sautéed mussel, whose sauce I really enjoyed. A fish pie for the first course, and to finish, the legendary fritto de frittoin. Very good, I'd say, with no surprises! Oh... the house prosecco was good, but Franciacorta is better if you can!
