It was recommended to me by acquaintances...there's no menu, just the catch of the day...reasonable prices based on the quality of the fish.
I wasn't looking for elegance, but for quality, traditional dishes.

We had a great time at Nicola's. The friendly owner explained the menu to us by heart. Everything was freshly caught. We had a seafood salad for two, but that would have fed three. Two generous mixed fried dishes were delicious. Oh, and I forgot to mention the very friendly staff.

What can I say...
Everything was excellent, from the welcome to the bill, right down to the food.

Unfortunately, I'm disappointed after the good reviews. There's no menu, and good Italian skills are expected; you can't get by with gestures. There were three of us, the fish was okay, and the seafood pasta, which could only be ordered for two people, was tasty but the portion was an outrage.
In hindsight, we should have done what those nice Swiss people did when they saw a bottle of Mussolini in the window and immediately canceled their reservation, saying, "We don't have anything to do with fascists!"

From Bergamo, for a few days of rest, this place is recommended by locals as well. It doesn't disappoint, in fact, it's completely satisfying, with an excellent tasting menu and abundant food. I highly recommend it.
