Osteria da Nicola In Chioggia

Excellent lunch in the center of Chioggia. In this tavern there is no paper menu, but it is listed verbally (with the prices of the dishes indicated) because it adapts to the catch provided. Despite this, the choice of dishes is varied and ranges from traditional Venetian seafood preparations. The dishes are made very well, with fresh ingredients, and the portions are generous. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. The restaurant is located in a secondary street, therefore free from traffic and confusion. I recommend booking.

Very nice restaurant on the Chioggia canal, very expert and polite staff, except perhaps only for the order boy. Looking a person in the face and just because he is a young person telling him "this is not tuna for sushi" and then, among other things, cooking the tuna wrong is unforgivable. First he almost laughs in my face if I ask him to have it rare and then you serve me a steak completely boiled and dry as a shoe, I have no idea how anyone can be so rude and pedantic. Luckily, the maitre d' and the waitress were very kind and were able to remedy the situation, first suggesting that we change the dish and then removing it from the final bill. We will return to try the other proposals only for their courtesy, which really saved the day.

I was there just this evening, 03/08/24. Typical place from times gone by but welcoming. Kind and attentive staff. Excellent food. There is no menu, because it is made day by day based on the catch. The prices are told to you verbally, as are the dishes. Furthermore, you are advised on what and how to eat, based on your tastes. I won't tell you the prices, because everyone has their own ideas but, for me, everything is fair and not at all expensive. Compliments. The only note is that the polenta is yellow and not white but the owner, or whoever on his behalf, knows I was joking.😀 Highly recommended.

Wandering around Chioggia I came across this unique Osteria but it was fully booked. Today, however, I called and booked and at the agreed time I was there punctually, I was welcomed by a smiling Miss Alice who immediately became concerned about my discomfort with the world of mosquitoes. Thank you very much dear girl for allowing me to eat peacefully. Then Luigi arrived who explained the dishes to me and confidently answered my questions. My choice fell on boiled and fried. The boiled meat was an adventure of pleasure and the fried meat was the perfect combination of freshness and crunchiness. Thanks Luigi. Congratulations to all the staff. How much did I spend? I don't know, it was offered to me by my friend, I tried to investigate and she told me it wasn't much compared to what we ate. I will definitely go back. Thank you.... and I came back... I found the sweet and kind face of Mrs. Cristina welcoming us... and she announced Igor's arrival, promptly serving us a drink. Here is Igor, a living menu that simply illustrates the dishes, their preparation and advises us based on how hungry we are. In addition to the boiled and fried dishes, we ordered the gnocchi with cuttlefish ink, pumpkin, chestnuts, scampi and prawns...it was worth it It's worth getting to Chioggia just to smell it... a delicate but at the same time strong flavour. Well done, really good....thanks for the precious advice, I will definitely be back to order the 6 fried samples...I will be back Igor to eat what you propose with my heart and with your simplicity. A lunch dedicated to simplicity and taste. The restaurant does not have a fixed menu because the products vary based on the catch of the day. Always available staff who illustrate prices and dishes with professionalism and kindness. Everything very fresh, simple and tasty. We will definitely be back

Ottima esperienza, pesce freschissimo, gentili con il nostro bimbo, abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo sia la frittura di mare che la grigliata, come antipasto eccezionale il bollito di pesce, unico neo i gamberi con polenta, un pò scarsini.... Consigliato. Prezzo adeguato all'offerta.
