They also had fans going which was a nice break from the heat!

07/06/2026: We ate dinner there twice during our holiday on the island of Giglio. It's a small, cozy restaurant with a well-rounded menu. The staff is very friendly. Having eaten at other restaurants before, we were pleasantly surprised to find a place on the island where you can eat relatively well. Unfortunately, we hadn't had good experiences at the restaurants we'd tried previously. The decor is simple, but you still feel comfortable, thanks to both the food and the staff.

18/06/2026: I'm giving one star because it's the best I can give. On a scorching day of almost 40 degrees, they sit you at a table without air conditioning, because the cool room is for those who have reservations. Not even a fan—shame on you, it's not allowed. The owner plays dumb, but you can tell he doesn't care about the customers. Never again.
07/06/2026: Even though we arrived almost at closing time, they served us kindly. The lunch was good quality, and the staff was willing to accommodate our requests...we'll gladly return!

15/07/2026: This pizzeria offers truly excellent Roman-style pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. If you come in the summer, I recommend the air-conditioned tables inside. It's a great place if you have children, as there's a play area inside. Fair prices.
20/06/2026: Truly excellent place for the food, the people, and the venue. We went there for the first time without knowing them, but we had no hesitation in booking for the next day as well. The recommendations we received from the staff were truly helpful because, you can tell right away, they care about the customer... I highly recommend it... the pizza and food are superb.

07/07/2026: It is a fast food kind of place for fish and seafood. We had fritto misto and tiramisu. The food was fresh and good, although we had to clean the shrimp (with head and vein), tiramisu a bit sweet - that they forgot about and had to ask for about many times... But the price was so good for the freshness of the seafood!
06/07/2026: It's a tourist town, so the prices are very touristy – a polpo fritto with octopus for €14.50. In my defense, it was the only sandwich in Puglia I've had that had a large octopus, not just a single tentacle like in most places. The sandwich was good, although they added cime di rape and had a specific flavor. The fritura was okay, but there was too much breading. On a weekday, the place was empty after 6 p.m., with no queue. Everything seemed fine, but it didn't feel perfect.

13/06/2026: We dined at Il Pirata at the recommendation of a dear cured meat supplier. We were looking for a quality restaurant to enjoy a well-made Cacciucco. At Il Pirata, we found excellence in every way. From the beautiful venue, both indoors and outdoors, to the very kind staff, the excellent food, the carefully sourced raw materials, all our dishes were consistently above our expectations. The Cacciucco is made exactly like our grandmothers used to make. If you pass through Follonica, definitely dine at this restaurant. You'll take home a memory you'll definitely want to share. Thanks to Stefano, his adorable son, and all the staff.

Welcoming staff, but the very surly managers favor tables.
The food was below expectations.
They don't know what hospitality is.
We asked to move our table because they sat us next to the pizza oven, but the managers didn't even show up to apologize, ignoring our request.
They told us the kitchen was closed, leaving us without a main course, but they served food to a table after us.
So I didn't know if the kitchen was closed for us and open for others.
Moral of the story: don't be fooled by appearances.
06/07/2026: Clean place, friendly staff. The anchovies are truly delicious, the cheese from the cured meats appetizer is a true specialty, and then, as promised, the review for the pizza wizard cannot be missed, a margherita that is a spectacle for the eyes and the palate, which pleasantly surprised me, I have to recommend it. I happened upon it by chance from Rome on June 28, 2026, and I already miss it, you know, I highly recommend it for its excellent quality, and the quality/price ratio that could not be missed. 03/07/2026: The fish sandwiches were really good! Unique recipes and perfect pairings. Craft beer and an excellent tiramisu to finish. The staff in the dining room were great! Everyone was friendly and smiling.
02/07/2026: My girlfriend and I had lunch outside, sitting right on the corner. Since it was a particularly hot day, the location proved perfect thanks to the pleasant breeze created by the intersection of the streets. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, and the dishes won us over with both the quality and the excellent quantity. A truly pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

24/05/2026: Worst food and service. The waitress was snooty, and we waited 20 minutes for microwaved food. Plus, it was expensive. Poor.
