03/05/2026: Everything was superb, from the bread basket to the service. I contacted the restaurant via Google for a few details to celebrate my husband's birthday. I didn't need to explain anything; they watched us from afar and knew how to enter the scene at the perfect moment. Fantastic! The Gambero Rosso restaurant has a unique feature: you can smell the sea more inside than outside, and I'm not kidding. The menu is basic but full of character; we ordered everything off the menu, except for dessert. The fried purple shrimp was heavenly; sweet, flavorful, and super lightly fried. The first course was tagliolini with shrimp and bottarga: a unique explosion of flavors and aromas, truly unique in very few places. The second course was baked snapper with cherry tomatoes, olives, and capers: it was like coming home to my grandparents. The dessert: a lemon ice cream with a Nuorese basil sauce and a contrasting sweet/savory base. A delicate and decisive balance, totally unexpected. The service was outstanding; we felt pampered every minute, and the staff was attentive, helping us make the best choices for us—something we didn't take for granted. The service was exceptional; we ate from appetizer to dessert in two hours, unhurriedly. We'll definitely be back, because Gambero Rosso isn't a place you'll easily forget.

Location (8/10) Despite overlooking the main road, it offers a pleasant view of the marina. The rooms are refined, well-kept, and very clean, immediately conveying a sense of quality. Menu (8/10) Very fresh ingredients. The tagliolini with sea urchin was truly excellent, flavorful, and well-balanced. The fried food was also excellent: dry, light, and crispy, executed with great care. Service (9/10) The restaurant's strong point. The staff is highly professional, kind, and attentive: you are welcomed and looked after carefully from start to finish. Bill (6/10) The location, the quality of the service, and the freshness of the products justify the price. However, some choices are a bit unbalanced: charging a local pink shrimp the same as a lobster is a bit puzzling. Conclusion This restaurant is recommended for a quality experience, although not one for frequent visitors. With a more balanced pricing policy, it could become a true reference point for many.

The pizza I ordered was brought wrong, and after they realized the error, instead of completely remaking it, they came back a few minutes later with what appeared to be the same pizza, with the missing ingredients added on top. I believe that in a place that respects its customers, such a situation should be resolved by remaking the product, not by a hastily made improvisation. Even though I appreciate the fact that they did not charge us for the pizza in question, which was a correct gesture, the way they resolved it left the impression of a lack of attention and professionalism. Overall, the taste of all the pizzas was good and the food was actually ok. The pizza that I avevo ordinato è arrivata sbagliata e, dopo essersi accorti dell'errore, invece di rifarla completamente, sono tornati dopo pochi minuti con quella che semira essere la stessa pizza, aggiungendo semplicemento sopra gli ingredienti cancanti. It was quite evident that non fosse stata rifatta, ma solo "systemata" velocementa. I believe that in a locale that respects its own customers, a situation of the kind should be solved correctly by correcting the product, not with an improvised solution. 04/05/2026: It was a truly excellent dinner. A platter of quality cured meats and cheeses. The stuffed pasta with Tuscan sauce was superb. The wait staff was attentive. We were the last guests to leave, while outside we could hear the carousels celebrating Inter's Scudetto victory. See you next time.

21/09/2025: Terrible food, we paid for a set menu that included dry, tasteless, and tough baked pasta that I was afraid would break a tooth. Then they served two slices of roast beef, also dry, which I honestly don't know if they turned out that way from reheating them. A small piece of chicken and a small piece of pork chop, both raw inside. Oh, and yes, the menu listed non-existent potatoes. The waiters were kind, but I think the chef is also the owner, who was very rude. We paid a fixed price and forgot about the potatoes. He wanted to offer me coffee, but so I don't have coffee. I asked for a small piece of dessert and was told that I'll give you a €7 dessert? And he threw €10 at me on the table, which I threw back at him. Then, to top it all off, when we left, I assume the cashier had a questionable attitude, even calling us rude. I won't set foot in there again and I don't recommend it.

12/04/2026: A small pizzeria located for many years in the Cassarello neighborhood of Follonica. Excellent pizza, cooked in a wood-fired oven, good other dishes as well, fast and attentive service.

01/06/2026: The staff is rude; a waiter should be welcoming and friendly, not put off by the desire to sit in their restaurant. The food is average to poor quality, regardless of price. I don't recommend it. There are much better places in Castiglione.

04/10/2025: We stumbled upon this restaurant yesterday by chance. The wait staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, even promptly responding to our request to move and light the fire pit to keep our two-month-old baby warm. The food was excellent, the wait time was normal for freshly prepared dishes, and the wine was also worth it. They accept dogs and were kind enough to provide a bowl of water if needed. I really liked that the chef (and I assume the owner) walked around the tables to make sure everything was okay, but without being intrusive. I highly recommend it and thank them for the wonderful evening we spent there.

We went there last year, twice for dinner and lunch, because we loved it so much... but this year, we were in for a surprise... a mini platter with poor-quality cold cuts and a bit of giardiniera, and a first or second course that cost almost 40 euros... and a non-existent service left in the hands of a very kind young woman and a cook who constantly left the kitchen to chat with other diners and forgot two out of seven courses to serve. Rating 1 DO NOT GO THERE
