14/03/2026: To conclude our 30-plus-day campervan trip through Tuscany, we were looking for a special restaurant – and we definitely found a little gem. What an experience! Even the view from the outside was impressive and raised our expectations. We received a very warm welcome at reception and were shown to a very inviting table. The entire restaurant is decorated with great attention to detail, style, and beautiful fabrics and decorations. This prevents everything from feeling kitschy; instead, it's exceptionally tasteful and stylish. The menu focuses heavily on fish and seafood – which is precisely why we came here. It's only in Italian, and some dishes are quite unusual, so we occasionally used the translator on our phones. The staff was very helpful in this regard. The evening began in a unique way: A pitcher of dry ice, infused with a fragrance of mandarin, lemon, orange, and bergamot, was placed on a rotating plate. When water was added, it created an impressive reaction – intended, according to the staff, to help us relax and set the mood for the evening. The menu is heavily influenced by fish and seafood – which is exactly why we came here. The food we ordered was a feast for the eyes and tasted absolutely divine. Everything looked incredibly fresh and was artfully presented. The service was consistently professional and exceptionally charming. A perfect evening to end our trip. Highly recommended – reservations are absolutely essential, as all the tables were occupied during our visit.

11/03/2026: Friendly from the first to the last second. The menu was extensive, which we, as non-Italians, found a bit difficult to read quickly. No problem at all. We were helped! We were given as much time as we needed to peruse the menu thoroughly and decide what we wanted to eat. As in many good Italian restaurants, there was a wide selection of excellent wines. But even for us, who enjoy pairing several wines with a meal, there were half bottles from very good winemakers and some absolute highlights by the glass. The seafood and fish-focused cuisine was always perfectly prepared. The olive oil was superb. Wonderful music. Even if you don't particularly like Viareggio, you'll always find yourself wondering if there's a reason to return and eat at this restaurant again! Thank you for a lovely and successful evening.

14/03/2026: The mussels were old, and the flavor was decidedly unpleasant—be careful. Food poisoning is easy to get like that. The rest was okay, but nothing special. Almost all the fish was frozen, but honestly, that's what was listed on the menu.

21/03/2026: As soon as you enter, the historic setting literally overwhelms you: there's quality in every picture that demonstrates it, appreciation in every framed compliment, everything is history and passion for what they do here. I love raw fish and I don't think I've ever eaten it as good and fresh as at this place: the amberjack fillets, the tuna marinated in mint and pink pepper, an attention to the raw materials I haven't found in a long time... and I paid far too little for how good it was! The gnocchi with sea bream is truly a treat! And then the service: finally in 2026, a waiter without a tablet, without a notebook, who watches you and advises you, who pampers you like a member of the family would, you can tell he's happy to make you feel good. And that's exactly what happened. My husband and I had a better time this evening than at home, we ate with the care of a "grandmother's lunch" and our hearts were warmed as only a historic restaurant could. We'll definitely be back!

15/03/2026: We went for lunch today. The place is very quaint, but it's a shame it's a bit shabby. It's outdone by the fresh, beautifully cooked fish. The cacciucco was truly excellent. The service was very attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back and recommend it.

12/03/2026: We sit down at 12:30. We order and they immediately bring us the appetizer to share, and then for the next 40 minutes, no one else is seen. We hear some rather silly comments from the waitress (should we bring all the first courses at once...???) and even the waiter, when we ask for our first courses, replies that it's best not to comment. Finally, the first courses arrive: spaghetti with clams, which I'd say are just adequate. First of all, they're not clams, and that should be stated and specified. Do you know how much lupini beans cost compared to clams? Lupini beans on one side and spaghetti on the other. Pasta with anchovies and capers: a bit mushy but acceptable, even if nothing more than what you can easily make at home. I'd say the fried food was good, not abundant but good. The only positive note is that when it came time to pay, the owner apologized for the delay. I'm sorry, but I didn't find what I was hoping for 🤷‍♂️

10/03/2026: The restaurant is also within walking distance as it is located in the center behind the covered market. This restaurant has always had excellent reviews. I remember back in the day that they already had takeout, and my parents would give me the pot to buy cacciucco! There has always been a family atmosphere and a relationship of mutual affection! The food is excellent and the price is right, especially for the fish-based dishes. The octopus is always tender and tasty, the fried food is not greasy and crunchy, and the pasta is tasty and cooked al dente! There are two dining rooms and outdoor seating, especially in nice weather! We always organize birthday parties for 15 people!

15/03/2026: We visited in mid-March, on a Sunday for lunch in the enchanting San Miniato. The restaurant is beautiful and bright, with large windows overlooking the splendid valley. The wait staff is fabulous, attentive to every need, always kind and professional. It's really hard to express anything about the dishes because they were all so good, with well-defined yet delicate flavors that combined to create a symphony that is hard to forget. High-quality, seasonal ingredients that showcase the local produce. We tried the land tasting, and our 13-year-old daughter was won over by the bottega with dried tomatoes and guinea fowl, duck, and rabbit ragù. Finally, the chef, a wonderful person with kindness in his eyes, was a pleasure to thank for the wonderful lunch. I recommend going, even more than once, to explore the various menus. It's a place that exudes simple, elegant cordiality.
