We only had the caciucco because we arrived almost at closing time.
To say it was good is an understatement.
The staff were friendly, fast, and helpful.
We'll definitely return, but we'll take a bit more time.

If you go to Livorno, you have to stop at Sottomarino!!! The welcome is family-like, Livorno residents for generations. The Cacciucco is the way it should be made, the recipe has been passed down through generations. The fish is fresh, the squid ink risotto is a delight, made to order with real squid ink. The portions are generous. The prices are fair and the service is friendly. They also have an outdoor garden. I will definitely return to enjoy other dishes.

A typical trattoria, absolutely worth a try. The cacciucco is amazing, accompanied by exquisite fried polenta. Service is fast, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Top!

The cacciucco is amazing, and the scagliozzi dipped in the sauce are superb. The service is cheerful and friendly. It's a must-try for us when we go to Livorno.

House wine is €14 expensive, a cacciucco without a whole fish is no good, two black rice dishes and a cacciucco, a coffee and a punch without dessert are €97. It seems a bit too much to me, however, thanks to the staff and the kitchen.

A classic Livorno restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious cacciucco. The fried fish is also good, but the portions are truly too small considering the price...
I'm not crazy about the service: I recommend it, but only up to a certain point. Maybe I'm not a fan of Tuscan irony, but it's not for me.

I went to Livorno to try the famous caciucco and chose this place. I was blown away by the deliciousness of this dish. We ordered the 1.5kg portion for two, and when we were about to order our first course, the waiter immediately warned us that it was a large dish and that we probably wouldn't be able to eat anything else. And so it was. I appreciated the waiter's honesty and the beauty of this place, which continues to carry on the tradition of this Livorno dish.

A very informal and therefore very enjoyable place. We had the cacciucco, and I must say it was amazing. The staff were all courteous and friendly. A must-try if you're in Livorno.
