08/05/2026: We just returned from a 3 week honeymoon in Italy which required a LOT of planning. I normally am not one to leave a review, but we relied so heavily on them to plan our trip so I wanted to share my experience to hopefully help someone else out. :) This was the third stop of our trip. And if I had to describe this hotel, I'd say it's like a luxury bed and breakfast in the rolling hills of Tuscany. The property is gorgeous and the staff was very accommodating. However, be aware, this hotel is not walking distance to really anything so you will either need a car or will need to hire a taxi or a driver to get anywhere. We ended up paying over $75 in 1 day just to get to and from the town of Cortona which is about a 10 min car ride away. Also, when we were there in April, I think we were 2 of maybe 6 guests on property. It felt almost eerily quiet. This is definitely not a hotel that you would come to for the fun atmosphere. Its more of a relaxing, luxury, and romantic get away. The staff does a nice job to help coordinate any plans / logistics that are needed. And I would highly recommend making plans for each day that you are there. We really enjoyed the wine tour that they coordinated for us. I do want to give a special shoutout to the food because the breakfast and dinner that we had were always fantastic! However, be mindful that that their kitchen is closed on Monday nights and so are many of the local restaurants. We found ourselves in a bit of a predicament after our wine tour, so we had to have our driver bring us to a grocery store to get some food. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Just do your homework before hand so that your stay can be as enjoyable as possible!

13/01/2026: This place was so serene and quiet this time of year (late December). The staff was attentive and accommodating and the food... so good! Worth staying here for couples. I would say it's romantic. But, we also saw a couple of young families. You will be spoiled if you stay here. We will never get a better breakfast spread anywhere. They set the bar high!

02/06/2026: We were walking around the neighborhood when we stumbled upon this amazing concept store. The t-shirt designs displayed in the window immediately caught our attention and made us curious to learn more, so we decided to step inside—and we're so glad we did. Not only did we discover a great selection of unique t-shirts, but also a fantastic spot for food and drinks. We spent some time chatting with the owner, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. In the end, we ordered a few shirts and even made a reservation for dinner. Finding this place was a highlight of our trip, and we would have hated to miss out on such a wonderful experience. If you're visiting Florence, make sure to stop by—you won't be disappointed!

From the moment you arrive, you sense efficient organization: virtually no wait times and prompt yet consistently accurate service. The dining room staff is knowledgeable and attentive, capable of guiding guests through wine selections with thoughtful suggestions and thoughtful recommendations. A detail that inspires great confidence is the fish displayed at the entrance, synonymous with freshness and transparency in the selection of raw materials. The cuisine lives up to expectations, with well-executed and carefully prepared dishes. A special mention goes to the shrimp chips served as an entrée: truly 10/10. A restaurant that successfully combines quality, efficiency, and attention to detail, offering an overall high-quality experience.

13/04/2026: The best restaurant on the Livorno coast—and probably beyond. Trattoria Il Calesse is a true historic landmark for those who love good food without spending a fortune. The quality-price ratio here is rare: just consider that a tagliolini with lobster costs around €20, and it's packed with lobster. Federico, Leonardo, Sara, and Simonetta are the soul of the place: authentic hospitality and passion are evident in every detail. The dining room staff deserves a special mention: the girls are extremely kind, friendly, and always professional—they truly make you feel at home. The menu is comprehensive and carefully curated: both meat and fish are excellent, but it's the fish that stands out for its freshness and quality. One detail that makes the difference? The fish is always displayed at the entrance—a sign of transparency and excellent raw materials. Be wary of anyone who doesn't. It's one of those places that stays with you. If you're in the area and have never been, it's an experience you absolutely must try.

08/05/2026: Excellent food! Price is average. Service can take a bit long depending on what you choose, but they'll kindly let you know. It's also crowded, so that's understandable. Definitely worth trying again; the dishes are very generous.

08/04/2026: Wow! I wasn't expecting a place with this quality. Visited on Easter Sunday 2026. The quality of the ingredients was incredible, and the recipes were truly delicious. We ate a lot, trying various dishes to please our palate. Fantastic location, very intimate. Thank you, chef!

25/05/2026: We've eaten at this restaurant several times now, and it's always been excellent. Today, the waiter even prepared a special appetizer platter for us, featuring regional specialties. And all of this is very reasonably priced. All the staff and owners are incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is lovely, too. You can sit on the terrace right by the canal if you like. We'll definitely be eating there a few more times during this vacation.
