23/09/2025: There's not much to say... I ordered pasta with sea urchins twice!
My partner had never had it before and loved it.
We arrived late (10 PM on Monday) because we were on a hike, so we called beforehand to make sure we could have dinner. Despite the hour, they welcomed us warmly and had us eating right away. I read in the reviews that the portions aren't generous: to be clear, compared to other more touristy places, that's true, but those are excessive and I can't finish them... so I think it's a question of expectations. But it's not a flaw! Precisely because the dishes are loaded with sauce (the pasta with sea urchins had so much fish - and it was real sea urchins!! Everything... which they often mix up) the prices? They're not high... it depends on the dish you order: it's perfectly normal for some ingredients to cost more.
The staff was friendly and kind the whole time. I'm sorry I didn't take photos because I was too hungry 😆

12/11/2025: "Where's the Calamari?" My friend asked me when we ordered the Calamari pasta. This is the best way I can sum up our visit to Ingrid. For €18 it was terrible value and student quality food with barely any Calamari. The waiter told us there was no menu, which I found quite strange, felt like a way to invent a price on the spot and see if people will pay it. Left with with bad vibes from this place. Should have trusted my initial instinct, don't really get the good reviews.
06/11/2025: During our visit to Stromboli in early November, this was the only place to get a pizza after our volcano hike around 10 pm.
The pizzas were delicious and the service was good. The homemade tartufo with cocoa powder was also very tasty.
The next day we came for breakfast; the pistachio croissants were delicious and freshly filled upon request.
We also ate lunch here before our ferry ride, as all the other restaurants had closed by 2 or 3 pm.
Overall, highly recommended for a visit to Stromboli, no matter what time of day.

13/09/2025: The pasta is good, we weren't as lucky with the grilled fish (the smell and taste indicated it wasn't fresh) and after a few hours it made us feel really bad.

12/07/2025: Sono stato per cena e l’esperienza è stata eccellente. Il cibo era molto buono, con pesce fresco e ben cucinato. Il personale è stato estremamente gentile, e in particolare il proprietario si è dimostrato davvero cordiale: ci ha consigliato con attenzione, aiutandoci a ordinare le giuste quantità senza esagerare. Un gesto raro e molto apprezzato. Anche i prezzi sono stati sorprendentemente bassi rispetto alla qualità offerta. Un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. Tornerò sicuramente.
07/07/2025: Erano anni che avevamo deciso di non andare più a cenare in questo ristorante per la progressiva decadenza della qualità dei prodotti e della capacità di cucinare, purtroppo sperando che magari fosse migliorato abbiamo commesso l'errore di ritornarci. In pratica non hanno pesce fresco, solo surgelato che accompagnano con una salsa acidula che si ritrova quasi in tutti i piatti dagli spaghetti alla caponata di pesce e tutti gli antipasti come le cozze ripiene, sono dominate da questo sapore di pomodoro acido. gli involtini di pesce spada,senza pomodoro. erano secchi e poco saporiti ! Insomma una esperienza che potevamo benissimo evitare e che ha rovinato la serata. A fronte di un conto di 115 euro per 4 persone in pratica un antipasto e un piatto di portata a persona con un calice di vino e due bottigliette d'acqua!

Special, excellent dishes are further enhanced by the explanation and passion of the owner, Mr. Basilio, and the wonderful cuisine of his brother, chef, Mr. Tindaro.
I loved the couscous, while my husband loved their special fried fish!!
What can I say... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
We'll definitely see you next year, and in the meantime... keep up the good work!!

16/09/2025: Very nice little restaurant, the raw fish was really good. I recommend it.
The owner, who works in the dining room with his mother, is super kind, so much so that they gave us some figs from their farm to take home, which were delicious.
If I'm ever in the area, I'll definitely stop by. They're really good people who are willing to work hard to make the customer happy.

13/06/2025: We had booked for outside at 20:30. When we arrived the restaurant was heaving and our table was unavailable.
We were offered a glass of prosecco and waited. We were offered a table inside which we grabbed.
This place is really busy.
Gianne Luca is a true performer. He entertained and informed us about the specials and the menu.
The food was prompt and delicious.
An excellent meal and we would go again in a heartbeat.

10/11/2025: After driving all day, we needed a place to stay for the night and found this on google maps, and picked it at random!
The food was incredible, the best meal I’ve eaten on my trip so far. I wish I’d taken a photo - it was a blue fish with onion vinegar and mint. Delicious! Nothing like I’ve tasted before.
The owners are incredibly friendly - everything is reasonably priced - and the rooms were clean and had everything you might need - an A.C., a little fridge, comfortable beds, and a little balcony to enjoy the view from.
We’ve marked it on the map so that we can come back in the future!

25/10/2025: A decent mussel soup and a sadly overcooked seafood risotto can happen, but poor service can't be ignored.
• Point one: the waitress's obnoxious insistence on telling us what she was saying, pretending not to understand our requests.
• Point two: the wine-by-the-glass scam, with a terrible, sour white wine that we had changed and which she then immediately passed on to the table behind us. The response was, quote: "If you ask me for wine by the glass, this is quality!" An unspeakable response, especially since any restaurant offers a choice of at least two whites and two reds.
• Point three: the mockery about the mussels, quote: "They're small these days, but frankly, they're the ones I like best," and a few minutes later, at the same table behind us, quote: "Mussels are small these days, but I don't eat them anyway, neither large nor small."
Frankly, we've never encountered such a bizarre place.
And then when the owner, perhaps unaware, said goodbye to us by saying "See you next time," and we replied, "Frankly, next time won't be here," she remained speechless, not even trying to understand what had happened, not just to try to improve herself, but not even out of politeness.
Speechless.
24/10/2025: Food was amazing staff helpful and patient with us as we don't speak Italian (we are English). One of the more expensive restaurants in the area but a must if you love seafood.

07/12/2025: I saw Francesco Panella's TV show featuring this restaurant...
I must say that when I visited them in person, I was greeted with hospitality, professionalism, and kindness from all the staff.
Today, my wedding anniversary, we were pampered and served with excellent service.
We had lunch on a very romantic and charming terrace overlooking the sea of Giardini Naxos, facing Isola Bella!
Thank you for the wonderful day we spent with you.

07/12/2025: My husband learned about this restaurant thanks to @f_panella's BEST WEEKEND show, filmed in Taormina. He fell in love with table 26, where Francesco Panella had lunch with the three contestants, so he surprised me by booking a table for our 39th wedding anniversary.
Il Gabbiano Restaurant has a fabulous location with a terrace overlooking Isola Bella... simply enchanting.
But beyond the postcard-perfect location, the food at Il Gabbiano Restaurant is excellent.
The octopus, arancini, caponata, and tuna are all must-tries. I was also lucky enough to order an extraordinary off-menu dish: spaghetti with crab, which I'll never forget.

30/11/2025: I ordered two pizzas, one gluten-free and one regular, but unfortunately I have to express my total dissatisfaction.
The toppings were almost nonexistent, and one of the pizzas was delivered completely raw, therefore inedible.
Considering the wait, I expected much better service and quality. Unfortunately, I consider my experience a negative one and will not order again.
I hope you can take what happened into consideration.
