04/01/2026: Ten of us had dinner at this restaurant as the conclusion of our "La rotta dei due mari" (The Route of the Two Seas) trek. As soon as we entered, a waiter began showing us the fresh fish available on a trolley. Unfortunately, this approach gave many of us the impression of a classic "tourist trap," which is why we preferred to ask for the à la carte menu, despite the waiter's rather disapproving attitude. We didn't like feeling almost forced to choose what he offered, instead of being able to decide freely. In the end, we managed to order from the menu, but the prices seemed very high for the quality and quantity served. The cod, for example, costs 14 euros, but the portion is truly tiny. The fried foods were also very poor. The pasta with clams contained seven clams in total. In conclusion, I wouldn't return to this restaurant. A word of advice: instead of pushing customers towards your preferred choices, give them freedom to order from the menu and focus on more generous portions that are in line with the prices charged.

19/02/2026: At the gates of Bari Vecchia, this splendid restaurant is located a few hundred meters from the port. Before entering, we pass a truck unloading fresh fish, which is displayed at the entrance so as to welcome diners who can already get an idea of ​​what awaits them once they are seated. We are pampered by the very friendly and professional waiting staff, punctual and precise in their advice and descriptions of the dishes. The entree is based on burrata and artichoke fritters, as well as a selection of very popular and delicious cheeses. Focaccia is a must in the basket along with the bread. We decide on the white sea bream tartare; I don't remember ever having eaten one so good. Then there are the cod meatballs and a seafood salad that is an explosion of flavors: cuttlefish, octopus, mussels, and clams. Finally, a salt-baked fish, wild sea bream, that melts in the mouth due to the sweetness of its flesh.

The seafood was raw and the appetizer was lousy... the main course wasn't even worth mentioning, unfortunately I can't seem to find anything to save... I don't understand what happened. I'm so sorry...!!!!

30/11/2025: Grandma Rosa moves me every time, because I feel like a child again when I accompanied Dad Nicola to the fishmonger's. I remember a kind of childlike happiness. Her joke was always the same: 'Only what you see'? This phrase was a sort of sesame seed! The fishmonger would go to the back and immediately display a crate with the best catch of the night. I smiled every time, happy and incredulous at the same time. I still wonder today what this statement could have evoked in the eyes of the owner?! I'm sitting here today at the Nonna Rosa restaurant in Muro Leccese. And I always ask myself the same thing. Why does this place bring back memories? Why?
