18/11/2025: Accidentally, but very well. A bit by accident, while looking for an open place in the "dying" historic center of Taranto, we came across this restaurant. The service was professional, though perhaps a bit surprised by us tourists, as there were only Italians around, probably locals. Great, if a bit brusque. But I still recommend it!

31/10/2025: A guaranteed find in Taranto! Every time I return to Taranto from Dubai, I come here with my family. This restaurant has become one of my go-to places for excellent seafood. The quality is always top-notch: dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients, authentic flavors, and meticulously crafted pairings. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always available, making the experience even more enjoyable, especially Mr. Angelo, whose hospitality makes you feel at home. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, perfect for both a family dinner and a quiet evening. It's rare to find a place that consistently maintains this level of quality and courtesy. Highly recommended for those who love good seafood and want a complete experience combining flavor, professionalism, and Taranto hospitality!

02/11/2025: A lovely restaurant offering an antipasti menu with several small appetizers. Ideal for two people to start with. The Pezzetti di cavallo was excellent, as was the fresh pasta with tomato sauce and ricotta. Simple service and good wine recommendations. We would have liked to see more smiles from our servers. Eating outside is a good option if the weather permits, as the street is quiet.

06/11/2025: I dined at this restaurant two nights in a row. A wonderful discovery! The restaurant is beautiful and very welcoming. There's also a small covered and heated terrace. The staff is very professional and friendly. The food is superb! The fish and seafood are incredibly fresh. I tried the ceviche, the trio of tartare, the tuna steak, and the beef fillet (for meat lovers)—everything was perfect. They also have a good wine selection. If you're looking for a "real restaurant," this is an excellent choice. The prices are a bit higher than other restaurants in Bari, but it's entirely justified. They really go the extra mile! 😉 Thank you to the whole team; I had two wonderful evenings in your company.

04/11/2025: The soup for two for €60 looked like this (see photo). There was very little fish, and the tail in the photo was raw. To be fair, they replaced it, but the bruschetta was burnt.

18/11/2025: Simple, authentic seafood restaurant near the old town. Try the raw seafood, sea urchins, and mixed fried seafood.

15/11/2025: Delicious and very fresh raw fish. Attentive and friendly staff.

08/11/2025: We landed late and needed a place to stay. It worked out well. Clean rooms a little older but well taken care of. Good location from the airport and reasonably priced , 99. Breakfast was included and had a great selection.

07/07/2025: A beautiful place to have dinner right by the ocean 💗 celebrated our birthday there. Food was great and there was a really great dessert menu as well with lactose free options! Would definitely recommend and go back.

30/10/2025: The food was unfortunately oversalted; I think the cook was having a bad day. However, considering the prices, it's outrageous – €18 for pasta! 😀 And be sure to check the prices on the menu; they simply added €10 to the bill.

19/10/2025: A wonderful location surrounded by greenery, just a stone's throw from Gallipoli, a rustic establishment offering simple yet refined dishes. The quality of the food is excellent, from the appetizers to the first and second courses. The antipasto was rich and delicious, and the first courses were excellent. We opted for the meat course, which was delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. We were very satisfied.

13/09/2025: We were thrilled with the cuisine, service, and location at Calamate. We stayed in Gallipoli for 12 days, and we ate there four times. It was undoubtedly the best dinners of the entire trip. The appetizer selection—the burratina, the homemade orecchiette, and the bombette (which we tried breaded and baked here)—were all exceptional, as were the grilled red tuna and the pasta with scampi. The ingredients are excellent, and the price, in my opinion, perfectly in line with what's on offer. If you're in Gallipoli, it's worth a visit!

03/09/2025: The atmosphere is very comfortable for those like me with small children. There's a huge, very safe play area supervised by a young woman. The food is good. The only drawback: the service is incredibly slow.

09/11/2025: One of the best experiences I've ever had in Salento. Highly recommended, it never disappoints in every way: captivating menu, top-quality ingredients, attentive and smiling service, pleasant and warm atmosphere, and well-spaced tables. The appetizers are excellent, and everything else is consistent... right down to the desserts!

24/11/2025: I was there yesterday with my wife. We found a dirty room. At first, they gave us a small table that was completely wobbly. I lifted the tablecloth and found cardboard boxes to hold it down, and a hundred feet on the tablecloth. The seafood appetizer was poor quality, with dirty au gratin mussels still with the lifting rope attached. I mentioned it to the waiter, who explained that they're expensive, so perhaps the manpower to clean them was reduced to keep costs down. The fried calamari was of terrible quality, which you can find much better at a street food shop. The service was approximate. Finally, the bill was disproportionate for what we ate and the quality served. They even charged us for a beer we didn't consume. A final point: we weren't given a menu to choose from. In short, it's not an à la carte restaurant, but a self-service restaurant in an industrial area.

22/10/2025: What is this restaurant? I wrote on their website to make a reservation: no response. I go: door open, lights on: they tell me it's closed. How absurd!

10/06/2025: Locale perfetto per gli amanti del crudo di qualità; per gli altri poca scelta. Le indicazioni della gestione sono chiare: solo crudo e qualcosa di scottato, quindi si sa cosa aspettarsi.... Ottime ostriche e crostacei come del resto i vari carpacci. Molto buono il salmone scottato ed il salmone affumicato da gustare con "foglie" di pane abbrustolito e burro.. Prezzi alti ma rapportati al prodotto.

05/06/2025: We hebben heerlijk geluncht op een prachtige plek! Het eten was top. Fine Dining voor een vriendelijke prijs. De service was goed, het eten heerlijk en de lokatie prachtig. Ze gebruiken kruiden uit eigen tuin.
