20/05/2026: Very disappointing experience. The staff was rude from the moment we arrived and made us feel completely unwelcome. We found hair in the food, and the clams were clearly not fresh and badly overcooked. When we tried to politely explain that we were unhappy with the meal and service, the staff refused to listen and dismissed our concerns entirely. Despite the poor treatment, we were still forced to pay a service fee, which felt unreasonable considering the way we were treated. The overall attitude of the staff made us feel like a burden, even to the point of dropping the menus in front of us without basic courtesy. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had.

17/05/2026: Good food, but very slow and evasive service that does not follow up with customers during dinner. One of the main courses did not come with the others. The waiter noticed it and said - "wait a minute". We waited thirty minutes for it to arrive😔 The service showed no understanding that it was poor service.

13/05/2026: We've been traveling in Italy for a while now, and I have to say this restaurant is the best we've visited during our time there. The quality and price are excellent. We were the only guests that evening, and everything was freshly cooked and delicious. Drive to the nearby (free) campervan site and give it a try.

04/04/2026: Not a positive review 👎 Switched to the fish-based menu, we found ourselves in a frozen, tasteless apotheosis. It was all devoid of any substance and not even appetizing. Absolutely not to be repeated.

12/06/2026: Good quality fish, you can't reserve, but you have to sign up for a seemingly endless list... the delicious dishes are worth the wait, but overall, I think there's much more to the dining experience than just the dish on the table. Very good value, but in my memory, this restaurant was much more unique.

09/06/2026: After searching online for a seafood restaurant with good reviews, we asked a local for advice, who suggested Ristorante Mimì in Torre Lapillo. We tried calling to make a reservation, but the number was unavailable for several hours. So we sent an email, but received no response. After several attempts, we finally managed to speak to someone: we were told that the restaurant was fully booked and that, if we wanted to dine there, we would have to wait in line for the second sitting. After about five minutes, we called back to ask if they could be available the following day. This time, they told us that there was even room for the same evening at 7:30 PM. When we arrived, we found a large crowd outside, including those entering and those waiting. Despite this, we confidently entered. We were welcomed and seated. Shortly after, they brought us a laminated A3 menu, with the order to be filled out personally, in true village festival style. We filled out the order and handed it to the staff in the dining room, who were kind and helpful. The plates began to arrive. The dishes were disposable: honestly, not even at the festivals in my town do they use plastic plates anymore, but ceramic ones instead. We ordered: * Raw seafood – €16.00 * Stewed octopus – €10.00 * Seafood risotto – €12.00 * Grilled mixed seafood – €16.00 * Water 1 L – €2.50 * Vecchia Torre Rosé 1/2 L – €4.00 The raw seafood included 2 oysters, 6 mussels, cuttlefish tagliatelle, 4 slices of tuna, and 2 scampi. It looked fresh. The octopus was rather dry, but still decent. The risotto was very generous, but decidedly overcooked. The mixed grill included two octopus tentacles, a small cuttlefish, a swordfish steak, and a scampi. Everything was very dry. Unfortunately, about 30 minutes after eating the raw fish, we both developed stomach problems. I'd rather not say anything else, but I really struggle to understand how a place like this can be so popular. P.S. The bathroom light wasn't working, and we had to use our phone flashlight to see anything. A word of advice: instead of focusing on large portions, it would be better to invest more in quality.

07/06/2026: Unfortunately, you're only paying for the great view and the beautiful location. We've known this restaurant for a long time, but the food is sadly not what it used to be. The prices are very high, especially considering the small portions (small pizzas, small calamari portions, but quite greasy 🤔) and the rather limited selection. A real shame!

03/06/2026: Unfortunately, it's no longer the excellent fish restaurant with the daily specials on display. It's just a regular restaurant with pizza and pasta. The view is still unique, and the staff is quick and friendly, but we would have been disappointed by the menu.

04/05/2026: A well-maintained, well-organized establishment with courteous and helpful staff. I've been a customer for five years and have never had a problem. Congratulations.

19/04/2026: We arrive at 1:00 PM sharp. We're among the first to be seated, we order, and the appetizers arrive immediately. So far, so good. Once the appetizers are finished, we wait for the first courses. An hour passes and nothing, we ask the waiter, and he tells us they're preparing the dishes, another hour passes and they tell us the dishes are arriving. In the meantime, we order a fried fish dish for the second course, considering how long it takes for the first course. It's 4:00 PM when the first courses finally arrive. Spaghetti with seafood. With raw mussels and closed clams. Disappointed with the first course, we wait for the fried fish to satisfy our taste buds, but only the waiter comes to tell us that the fried fish is finished. Meanwhile, it's 4:30 PM. We get up to pay the bill, and not a single euro is discounted. It's a shame because the place is very nice.

09/06/2026: My husband and I spent a lovely evening in this wonderful location... recommended by the talented maître Giovanni, we enjoyed dishes prepared by chef Elvis... truly unique... well prepared... with good raw materials and creativity... I will return very soon... the spaghetti with sea urchins are truly worth trying... congratulations... absolutely recommended

14/12/2025: I'm reluctant to review restaurants, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Among a plethora of similar restaurants in the area, you'll find yourself in paradise. Wonderful location, wonderful food, wonderful staff. How many "wonderful" words! A young and capable owner who has taken the family legacy and brought it to the heights of restaurant culture. Try it and believe it.

12/10/2025: One of the few establishments open at this time (others closed or limited menu) pleasant welcome and smiling staff. We ate very well, good fresh products. We hadn't booked, few people. It was perfect.

16/05/2026: Just finished dinner. What can I say... So many things. Service was okay and friendly, but really lacking in presence and punctuality. Lots of young people ready to and ready to be trained, which is appreciable, but the dining room was left to its own devices. The wine arrived late, and the order was interrupted because they were talking among themselves. As for the food, the real sore point. The only redeeming feature was the peeled mussels. The risotto with pumpkin, shrimp, and bottarga was a tiny portion, poorly plated, and tasted only of bottarga. The price was incredibly steep, exceeding €100 for just two risottos, a few appetizers, and half a glass of wine, all topped off with a quality far from that of the true MareChiaro.

20/05/2026: Servers are indifferent and inattentive. Food was just ok. We got a glass of wine which might have been 3 ounces, at best . Clearly they know it's mainly tourists coming in and they're one and done so they don't really give a damn. I wouldn't recommend this place. My bad for not reading all the lousy recent reviews before going in.

05/02/2026: I visited this restaurant for work, and I must say the experience exceeded my expectations. The food was truly divine. A special mention goes to the octopus in a pignata: simply exceptional. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked: one of those dishes that alone is worth the visit. The seafood risotto was also spectacular, rich and beautifully balanced in flavor, without overpowering the freshness of the fish. As a lover of Mediterranean cuisine and seafood, I left this restaurant completely satisfied. You can sense the quality of the ingredients, the care taken in preparation, and the respect for local tradition. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it.
