21/08/2025: Very good, fresh food. 👌The chef is very friendly and attentive, and will even explain the menu in detail if you wish. We had tuna steak and ravioli with pesto. Excellent. Great value for money.

13/08/2025: We found this very authentic local restaurant. One page menu, specialized in sea food. It’s one of those small places that puts their heart and soul into the restaurant. They had a special local mussel (mussoli) on the menu, which was slightly more chewy than black mussels but it was such a fun experience to taste something new. I hate touristy places and I am always looking for the unique & authentic gastronomic experiences. This definitely hit the spot! I had the sea bass for main course which was delicious and perfectly cooked. The gnocchi was incredible, I would say one of the best home made gnocchi I ever tasted. The dessert was quite small but beautiful balance of flavors. To top it off, they sold house wine. We tried the sparkling white wine which was delicious and only added to the great experience. Would 100% recommend it if you like seafood!

01/08/2025: A vegetarian writes a review of a fish restaurant: When booking the previous evening, when I asked for a vegetarian dish (my companion was keen to eat there because they had brodetto on the menu), they told me there were none (not even fries), but promised to have them the following evening. Their promise was more than kept: They had bought a tub of porcini mushrooms and made a wonderful salad of raw porcini mushrooms, Sedano, and Parmesan cheese, served with fried potato slices. My companion was equally delighted with his grilled scallops and the Zuppa di Pesce, which was a real fish soup. Such good food and perfect service (even though there were only two of them) made for a very enjoyable evening.

06/07/2025: Really nice staff, they speak a little English. The food was authentic, home-feell and delicious. We recommend the pasta with crab sauce. The place is quite quiet. Definitely recommend visiting.

22/08/2025: As soon as you enter, you immediately sense the atmosphere the owners have created. You may like it or not, but I like it. Excellent quality food, well-cooked, with generous portions. The host and staff are very informal but friendly. By informal, I mean they say something silly when you're ordering and maybe even sit down at your table. Nothing special... Very fair price!

22/08/2025: We arrived without a reservation and they very kindly found us a table. We ordered a few courses and everything was delicious. I'd like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff once again.

14/08/2025: Great food. We ordered the seafood platter for an appetizer, which was very good. The fish for the main course was excellent. I recommend it.

12/08/2025: The appetizers and wine by the glass were good. The first courses, however, were terrible (tagliolini with squid ink and tagliolini with tuna and almonds), both overcooked (or with too much cooking water on the plating) and either tasteless or so peppery that every other flavor was completely covered. It was basically a plate of overcooked egg pasta with pepper. It's a shame because other reviews suggest we were the ones who were unlucky, but given the prices, we definitely won't be returning.

31/07/2025: Small restaurant just outside the city center, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The garden is adjacent to two busy thoroughfares but is adequately protected by fences and hedges. There's no parking, but finding a spot in the area isn't difficult. The staff is helpful, courteous, and homely, but the highlight is definitely the seafood. We had a truly wonderful meal: cold appetizers, gratin dishes, pasta with peeled lobster, and a delicious Sanpiero with potatoes for three, all delicious! The price is obviously commensurate with the ingredients, but in my opinion, it's lighter than many other restaurants.

You can enjoy excellent, fresh fish dishes—always original and delicious, in my opinion—of superior quality in a small, historic restaurant in the heart of Trieste. Furthermore, not to be overlooked is the friendliness and professionalism of the owners, who embrace you with special attention and pamper you so you can truly feel at home, and this was greatly appreciated. What more can I say? I recommend it not only for the food but also for everything it represents.

15/08/2025: Quality dishes at a more than fair price. Very friendly and fast. If you're looking for an unpretentious lunch with excellent food, this is the place to be.

11/08/2025: A small but well-organized place. Even if there's a line, they move it quickly. They take your order while you're waiting, so your food is brought to you quickly once you're seated. The small place does lead to high noise levels, especially during peak hours. However, the service is friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent.

26/08/2025: The pasta carbonara was the best I've ever had. The Margherita pizza was made with real, fresh tomatoes and delicious cheese drizzled with olive oil. At times, there was a long line to get in. This is what I call real Italian food.

05/08/2025: It was my parents' wedding anniversary, and we found ourselves in Trieste to visit the city. Not being very experienced, we showed up without a reservation at lunchtime, but the owner was kind enough to give us a table anyway. The place is small but truly a gem, very well-kept, and you can tell their motto is few customers but select, high-quality ingredients. In fact, we had a divine lunch, choosing four delicious seafood starters, all made with the freshest fish. The very friendly wait staff also gave us tips on what to see in the city. If I'm ever in Trieste again, I'll stop by and will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends. Thank you again for saving our lunch ☺️

13/08/2025: Overall a good location on the Muggia marina

13/08/2025: Last night we went to the "Sal de Mar" restaurant, and it was a bit of a rollercoaster experience. After a 40-minute wait, during which we practically watched the tables that arrived after us become Olympic champions in speeding up their plates, our dishes finally arrived. My friend's mussels were good, and my scallops au gratin were too, although a bit small compared to the ones you find around. But then the absurd began: the bread was so old it looked like a historical relic, and when my friend's pasta arrived, it was so salty it looked like it had been swimming in the ocean. We sent it back, and then they asked us three times if we wanted another, as if repeating the question would make it more appetizing. To top it off, I had specifically asked for the fish to be cleaned, but instead it was full of bones, like an unsolicited treasure hunt. The side potatoes were bland, almost like tasteless boiled clouds. Frankly, €40 for a sea bream for one person, served in these conditions, seems decidedly excessive. I admit I felt embarrassed listing all these mistakes, and in the end, driven by hunger, I ate out of desperation, more out of necessity than pleasure. The only positive note was that the fish was fresh, and you could taste it. In short, between vintage bread, ocean-quality pasta, tables arriving late and served early, and a comedy-like service, it was an evening more worth talking about for a laugh than for a return visit.
