21/09/2025: Everything was great, from the communication during the reservation, the service during dinner and the kindness of the staff. The food is for every recommendation, and the menu changes depending on the season. The menu is made up of typical dishes for that region. Parking is public in the nearby streets or in a public garage a few minutes walk away. Reservations are recommended. If you are in Trieste, definitely visit :)

15/09/2025: Very good and generous dishes. I tried the delicious pasta dishes: with mussels in white sauce and with anchovy pesto; excellent. Then the fried sardines...a very generous portion and excellent. The house white wine in a carafe...excellent. Overall, I recommend it.

20/09/2025: Highly recommended place if you pass by Trieste, really unique atmosphere, excellent food, informal friendly service! All waiters and owner came to the table for a nice chat and there was a live music on Saturday. You would probably feel like home ✨

27/09/2025: The service is a 5/5, the food however is unfortunately not. I had Spaghetti with scampi (20 Euro). The sauce was not better than strained tomatoes from the super market. The scampis did not have much meat and the fritto misto (24 Euro) was below average for Trieste. It's way too pricey for the quality you get. They also still have a squat toilet.

06/09/2025: Found it by chance and it was a surprise. The owner, a waiter and dishwasher from Desio, is not only a good businessman but also an excellent cook. Recommended dishes?? ALL OF THEM!! The place needs a little more attention as it's starting to show its age, but otherwise highly recommended!!

17/10/2025: We ate very well. The Emperor's Platter was enough for two. The staff was friendly and fast.

10/10/2025: We had lunch at Buffet Gildo today and were thrilled! The place, packed and lively, immediately won us over with its authentic atmosphere. Delicious food, a wide selection, friendly service, and excellent prices: a perfect mix that makes it one of our favorite places in Trieste. We can't wait to return with our family, who are coming from the South, to share a true and delicious slice of Trieste tradition with them. An unmissable stop, both for those visiting the city and for those looking for a delicious lunch break that feels like home and tradition. Wonderful!

04/10/2025: Interesting decor and atmosphere. You're immersed in a bygone era. We were seated at a table and were assigned because we hadn't made a reservation. The owner was apparently sitting at a desk right next to us in the dining room, taking calls, processing bills, eating sandwiches, and looking at his Instagram. It's funny, aside from that, the menu is relatively small and manageable, with daily specials or fresh catch, but prices aren't communicated. The food overall was delicious. We had crab. We had fish marinated in onion and vinegar. However, I've had better versions. Overall, the food was okay, the accompanying wines were also very good, but overall, you could call the evening a success, not outstanding.

03/09/2025: I had tagliolini with prawns, thyme and courgettes: the prawns were of excellent quality, the courgettes were fine and the pasta was very good, the price was fair and the service was courteous, the atmosphere wasn't anything special but still nice.

03/10/2025: If you like Italian pizza, like Napolitana or Sicilian, this is the place for you. The atmosphere isn't ideal. It's like a large hall, and most of the people who come, including the locals, spend a good quarter to twenty minutes there. We eat pizza and leave. The pizza is as described. It's not as crispy as you might expect from other pizzas. Of course, that also depends on the toppings.

01/10/2025: This was my first pizza in Italy, and I can say I wasn't disappointed—it was amazing! However, there must have been a mistake with my neighbor's pizza, which ruined the already rather unexciting atmosphere... The servers were unpleasant and didn't seem to appreciate tourists... That said, I repeat, the pizzas were excellent!
