18/10/2025: The fish-based first courses are devastated by the tomato (gnocchi, paccheri, etc.) a unique tomato flavor, you can't even taste the fish and it's not even there... you're only paying for the location (and it's expensive too). The second courses are better... but guys, since you charge for the scent... put the fish, not the scent...

23/10/2025: The host, Fabio, offers our tour guests an amazing menu of fresh seafood or lamb, or vegetarian options if desired. Outside the window is a beautiful view of the Adriatic Sea. This is our go-to group lunch spot for our visits to Ortona on our WWII battlefield tours.

29/08/2025: A dinner that was nothing short of spectacular! An incredible seafood dinner. We found this place among the gluten-free options in the area, and we never expected such attention and organization, even down to the smallest details. The staff was attentive and friendly from the start. We had two medium-large dogs with us, and they were welcomed into the establishment. The waiter explained the gluten-free options, including homemade pasta, fried fish, and artisanal desserts. A dream for a celiac on vacation. The taste experience exceeded our expectations. A place we absolutely recommend and will return to soon.

04/10/2025: We travel frequently for business and/or pleasure. We rarely give a restaurant 5 stars because perfection is difficult to achieve. Taverna del Marinaio in Lanciano fully deserves 5 stars! Unsurpassed value for money. Excellently prepared food, everything is refined and fresh. The service, evening meal pairings, and wine selection are extraordinary. The location is breathtaking. This restaurant demonstrates the entire staff's passion for food and wine. The restaurant is spotless, as are the restrooms. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The dining room staff is very knowledgeable about gastronomy and the entire world of wine. We will definitely be back!

02/11/2025: Lorenzo and his staff welcome you with the smile and friendliness typical of Abruzzo. From the moment you make your reservation over the phone, you feel like a welcome guest, an old friend. Then you arrive at the restaurant, sit down, and there, determined to taste the typical San Vitese dish, a mystical experience begins: the king of fish soup literally left us speechless. A bowl full of simple but perfect fish for this dish—cod, weever, red mullet, skate, mantis shrimp, cuttlefish—all immersed in a tomato sauce, flavored with a few pieces of bell pepper, into which you can dip the perfectly toasted bread. You can savor it all at your leisure; for half an hour, it's just you and the dish before you, a true culinary experience. The best part, however, comes as soon as you've finished enjoying the fish and bread, which you know how to manage wisely, mindful of what's next. The pasta of your choice is cooked in the remaining sauce...we opted for squares (like maltagliati) made with water and flour, which are special. For the more indulgent, Lorenzo brings his own chili pepper oil to the table, spicy and fragrant. A cold pecorino from the San Giacomo winery to accompany it all, and the magic is complete. 08/09/2025: I attended an event called Mare=Campo a few nights ago, and I can say that despite it being a combined evening with food and drink stands and a DJ set, I was overall more than satisfied with the quality of the food, the atmosphere, the wine selection for the occasion, and, of course, the entire setting, including the music. I congratulate them because you can never take anything for granted when you attend an organized event, and I must also compliment them on the treatment they gave us, given that we were a large group. Betty is an excellent host, and the entire team was friendly and super efficient. My compliments, and I'm sure I'll be returning to events or to try the à la carte menu soon.

14/10/2025: A fantastic takeout: the fish and dishes are incredibly fresh, just like a restaurant, if not better. Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly. Highly recommended, but unfortunately, I don't live in the area, otherwise I'd be a super loyal customer. Congratulations!

29/10/2025: Nothing special. The beach promenade is pretty run-down, with holes, rust, and broken railings, temporarily repaired with a construction fence. The beach and the woods are littered with trash. Disgustingly lazy people!

20/09/2025: What more could you want... exceptional service.... we ate a starter, first course and second course that deserve a 5 star..... the owner suggests the menu of the day..... I went there by chance and I can say as a person who has traveled that it is worth a visit.

25/10/2025: Luckily, there are still trattorias like this: informal, affordable, and serving quality meat and fish. Ideal for a business lunch, as I did, but also for a dinner with friends. The baked fish is excellent, and the service is quick, with very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely worth a try.
