05/05/2026: This trabocco is the epitome of poetry.
If I were to paint a picture, I would try to reproduce that very sunset: unsurpassed, incomparable. We were a group of ten, and after climbing the steps to the top, we were all speechless. The orange light of the sun illuminated our faces, making that moment almost suspended in time.
It was one of the most beautiful experiences we've ever had, not only for the food but especially for the view. I'd never seen a sunset like this: to the west, the sun slowly disappearing between the mountains, while to the east, the sea drew a thin pink line between the water and the sky. Two contrasting landscapes coexisting at the same time, offering a rare spectacle. A play of light and color that only this stretch of the Adriatic can offer... something truly unique.
The aperitif was very pleasant, accompanied by an excellent Cerasuolo from the Colle Moro winery. The owner carefully presented it to us, almost as if it were a small ritual: the nose released delicate, fruity aromas, while the palate was balanced, with a pleasant dry finish that made it perfect even with fish dishes.
My menu was completely gluten-free, carefully prepared separately, and even though it was an aperitif, we still left satisfied.
But what truly remains in our memory is the overall experience: a breathtaking view and a warm welcome that makes us feel like guests, not customers. An experience that goes beyond the food and transforms into a vivid, emotional, and unforgettable memory.
29/04/2026: Aperitivo, or rather "Aperifish," on the trabocco along the pier in San Vito Chietino, on a beautiful sunny day. The aperitivo, including glasses of wine, water, and a cover charge, cost €25. It included an appetizer of octopus and walnut salad, bruschetta with marinated anchovies and cherry tomatoes, and a truly delicious fish meatball. To finish, a choice of a first course or a mixed fried fish dish (we opted for the latter), which was plentiful and delicious, as was the welcome from the owners who kindly run the establishment. It's always a unique experience to gaze and listen to the sea from above while enjoying the food and hearing the waves crash beneath your eyes. I recommend that ladies always bring a shawl or scarf when going on a trabocco due to the sea breeze.
