24/04/2024: We had dinner on a midweek day in a period of not particular tourist influx. Despite some of the ingredients running out and consequent variations in the dishes, the quality of the food compared to the price was more than satisfactory. In this specific area of ​​Pisa the prices are much higher and this place is an excellent compromise for savoring traditional Tuscan dishes at an affordable price. Note of thanks to the friendliness and kindness of the innkeeper (Ste, if I understood correctly when he was called from the kitchen :)

30/03/2024: Piatti tipici della cucina toscana, in particolare davvero ottimo il mucco pisano. Abbiamo preso un tagliere contadino, il crostone al tartufo, una tartara di mucco e i tordelli al ragù di mucco: tutto davvero buonissimo. Il proprietario accogliente e gentilissimo. Ci torneremo sicuramente.

06/04/2024: Splendid restaurant in the picturesque Piazza dei Priori in Volterra. Traditional menu, not touristy and with more than correct prices, corresponding to the quality of the food. We were here on a Saturday evening, without having booked we were welcomed and found a seat. As an appetizer we ordered a delicious bruschetta with guacamole and cherry tomatoes, followed by a Volterrana soup and spaghetti with pesto and pine nuts. Beautiful warm and enveloping atmosphere, the place has an ancient charm, with a splendid frescoed ceiling.

02/04/2024: Good choice. A very elegant restaurant with refined cuisine and friendly, welcoming staff. Fast service, average prices. Excellent location in the main square. We will return

02/06/2024: I came here to eat several months ago, I forgot to leave a review so I'll fix it immediately. Nothing exceptional, pizzas normal and a little burnt. It was better not to take the appetizers. Dinner declined when I tasted the house white wine, it was like drinking vinegar. The dessert was the only positive note, but it wasn't enough to balance the rest. Personally I don't recommend it.

20/05/2024: Very cozy family restaurant, with a very pleasant atmosphere and perfect service. The food is spectacular and at super affordable prices. Wood oven and homemade and natural pizzas. I will only say that the two days we were there we went to lunch and dinner there, we did not look for another place.

07/04/2024: Family atmosphere that provides a local experience, we ordered gorgonzola risotto with truffles and spaghetti with seafood, both came in great quantity and the cost was very good compared to other places.

11/05/2024: Quiet and green place in the center of Pisa. Very sober average dishes, tuna pizza with very few garnishes. 4 stars for tranquility.

02/05/2024: Very good place to eat in Pisa, cheap €10/person, you have to choose a starter, a second, water and bread, homemade food. It is a place with prepared food that you see and choose what you want. The truth is that we ate very well and €40 for the 4 of us. It has a terrace outside with tables where you can eat.

17/10/2023: While touring Volterra we stopped for probably the best gelato experience. Even with a line at the counter we waited and then enjoyed the best Pistacchio gelato. Hopefully we will be back to enjoy it again.

31/08/2023: Winner of gelato championships 2017/2018. Excellent quality and flavours. Delicious champion fresh mint. Beats Dondole in San Gimignano easily (previous favourite now sadly diminished). Didn’t try enough to know it’s the best in Volterra - but seems likely…

I want them to recommend the wine and they gave me a really good wine because I really don’t understand which one is the best and I don’t know how to describe it, but the atmosphere was really good. It’s a calm little place in a popular square.
