15/12/2025: Delicious vegan food, perfect for those seeking tasty and balanced meals. The salads are hearty, and even a pork shoulder can be a meal in itself, or complemented with PPP (a delicious reinterpretation of pane e panelle!).
The outdoor seating area is charming, equipped with covers and protected from the winter breeze by plastic sheets.
Fast, clean, and efficient service, customers can enjoy a peaceful and serene experience, an ideal break from exploring the city, between the Verga House Museum and the Ancient Theater of Catania!

01/02/2026: The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming, perfect for a pleasant evening. The food was truly fresh and excellent, with authentic and carefully crafted flavors. The marinated dish is absolutely recommended, a true highlight of the restaurant. I'll definitely be back on my next visit to Catania!
26/01/2026: A very strange atmosphere. We felt completely unwelcome right from the entrance, accompanied by suspicious or slightly annoyed glances. I almost felt like I had to apologize for them having to work for me. As a guest, you shouldn't feel that way. Perhaps they were simply having an off day.
The food was okay, but below expectations considering the prices. You're mainly paying for the fantastic location. It's a large restaurant right on the beach.
The men's restroom is in poor condition. A toilet seat would make it much more practical.
But we loved the cats ❤️

14/12/2025: I was delighted to discover this seafood restaurant in Catania. The ingredients are excellent. It's a casual place to spend a pleasant evening. The wine list is extensive, but unfortunately I asked for six different ones (very common Sicilian wines) and they were out of stock. The waiter, however, went out of his way to find an alternative right away, letting me taste several bottles and paying me a lot of attention, even though it was a Saturday night and the place was packed. Another negative was the large table of men sitting behind us who, with every toast, broke out in a stadium-like chant (but that's not the owners' fault).

06/01/2026: Love this restaurant. The pizzas are spectacular, the service courteous and efficient and a wide variety of choices.
06/01/2026: A decidedly negative experience. The pumpkin pasta and the zucchini pesto pasta tasted exactly the same, a clear sign of poor quality or a lack of attention to detail.
We also opened about seven mayonnaises, and they all had an unappealing color, definitely not reassuring.
Overall, the food was very bad. I won't be returning, and I don't recommend it.

12/12/2025: I'm also reviewing on behalf of other diners. Dinner with colleagues, a long table, and a pizza round for everyone. I'll leave aside the quality of the food and the location: that's a personal preference, I liked it. The only sore point we all agreed on was the quantity! The pizza round should include sampling various types of pizza, but since I'm giving you almost €30 per person, can you at least give me one pizza each? If we're a table of over 30 diners, you can't just leave with one appetizer each and barely 20 pizzas in total. Too bad.

Delicious.
The freshest fish is chosen on the spot with the owner and then prepared simply yet exceptionally, bringing out the flavors of the sea.
What can I say... it's worth the trip.
The seafood salad with "occhi di bue" (ox-eye) is definitely worth ordering.
Delicious raw, first and second courses.
Quality local wines.
To finish the meal, the sorbet is a must.
For those who love bitters, try a local herb amaro 😋
20/12/2025: The best seafood salad you can eat in the world is here at La Grotta. That's not a joke, it's the truth!!! Try it and you'll see. If there were 10 stars, I'd give them!

We ate with friends, sautéed and fried mushrooms to accompany a delicious grilled meat. The food was as good as the house wine!
