We've been here two evenings in a row now, and it's been wonderful! The restaurant has a lovely, atmospheric courtyard, but the seating inside and outside is also incredibly charming!
Both evenings, we asked for wine recommendations, and they were spot on every time.
Tonight, we had four different appetizers, all of which were delicious. We must especially highlight the Lava Pistachio cake—a definite 10/10.
The service is very attentive; we were immediately recognized and greeted warmly!
This is exactly how you want to spend your holiday in Sicily—a highly recommended experience!

We had a tuna and mango salad, and a salmon and avocado salad, both delicious. The salted caramel cheesecake we shared for dessert was exquisite.

It's a beautiful place, with an endless cellar and background music that invites you to linger. The service is appropriate, and the food... Lots of delicious dishes, revisited traditional dishes, fish and meat, cooked and raw (that's the advantage of large tables, you can try everything!). I really enjoyed it, I would go back, yes!

The receptionist at our hotel told us that IL SALE was her favourite fish / seafood restaurant. We couldn't get a reservation but showed up on the off-chance. They found us a table outside at one end. The food was excellent, the service was on the slow side, but given that we didn't have a reservation, I'm not going to quibble about that.

We had dinner at Il Sale 3 times during our stay in Catania because of the quality of the food and originality of flavors. Sicilian, creative, complex and tasty, specially if you favor ‘Slow food’ and heritage. That coupled with excellent service and beautiful atmosphere. Very friendly and accommodating too.

I was with a group of nine people last Saturday. They called me in the afternoon to ask me to be on time and we were. We were all seated at 8:10 pm. We ordered a fried appetizer and only the sweet potatoes were good. We waited over 40 minutes for the pizza and every time we asked for information they made us wait even for the answer. When it arrived it was toasted and got cold immediately. A pizza can't cost €15 and be inedible. It's a shame about the torment we gave the waiter but nowadays with such a large selection of places in such a famous area you can't afford the luxury of making a mistake. We certainly won't be going back.
