04/04/2026: My plate arrived with the egg already set, the guanciale (which clearly wasn't guanciale) raw, and no cheese. The result was a sliced ​​mess full of pork fat. Before coming here, I was a huge fan of carbonara; now I don't know if I'll ever be able to eat it again.

04/10/2025: Let's be honest, the staff was friendly but we got to have our worst dinner in Sicily there. There was, amongst others, this weird octopus marinated in half butter half soja sauce (I guess a lost attempt at making it "umami") served with super cold side and a traditional couscous which was rougly about pourring the whole package of couscous in the plate and not much more else (other than a pour-it-yourself fish soup, I'm sure my teen would do this meal when they're alone at home). Usually there's some music, maybe it's best to drink and avoid food?

02/03/2026: Great place, very clean and comfortable. The waiters were super kind and willing to accommodate my crazy diet requests. They work wonders in the kitchen! Bottom line: I couldn't stick to my diet; everything was so good. A must-try place, and I'll definitely be back.

13/04/2026: I stayed at this property for two days with my wife, also enjoying the attached restaurant-pizzeria. We had a wonderful time. The property is beautiful, with attention to detail, the staff is welcoming, and the quality of the food is excellent. Petralia Sottana is a gem and has a prime location for visiting the other towns in the Madonie Mountains. If we return to this area, Il Castello will be our go-to destination again.

22/02/2026: The people, the service and atmosphere were nice. Antipasti and pasta too. However the meat was terrible and they don't seem to understand how different types of meat and cuts should be grilled/cooked. That's the capocollo I was served.

01/02/2026: Salvatore, the restaurant's owner, welcomed us warmly and with a smile. He helped us choose our dishes, offering fresh, top-quality local produce. The portions are generous, the staff is friendly, and the setting is elegant and quaint, with stone interiors and a stove that warms the room (it was snowing outside that day). Every single dish reflects the passion and care the entire staff has for both the ingredients and the customers. We'll definitely be back!

23/03/2026: I had researched where to have my first lunch in Catania. Lovely swordfish and shrimp pasta washed down with half bottle of white wine. They gave me a free chocolate brownie pud after. Such hospitality. Busy and fresh seafood. Off the beaten track. Highly recommend

02/04/2026: We had such a beautiful lunchtime experience at Ristorante Badia. The restaurant itself is incredibly aesthetically pleasing, colourful, vibrant, and full of authentic Sicilian charm. We ordered the Risotto alla Marinara and every bite was absolutely delicious. The seafood was fresh, and the sauce on the risotto was good. We also tried the Tagliatelle rosso di Mazara e tartufo. Although it had to be substituted with local smaller prawns instead of the red shrimp, the price was adjusted accordingly, which we really appreciated. The dish was still delicious, full of flavour, with fresh, fragrant truffle that elevated it beautifully. After our meal, we were offered a delicious almond aperitif, which was the perfect touch to end a lovely lunch. The servers were warm, welcoming, and made us feel so at ease throughout. We would certainly recommend visiting!
