09/05/2026: We booked well in advance in the afternoon. We arrived at the restaurant after a 40-minute drive, but we didn't have a table. We stood for about 15 minutes before they found a free table, despite our reservation. Once we were seated, after half an hour, we didn't even have glasses, and despite repeatedly asking, they served the next table first, which arrived after us. Rude staff. The place is so crowded that they can't manage it, causing such inconvenience. A disgrace. Never again.

16/04/2026: A truly beautiful B&B with a view of Porto Empedocle... the owner is very kind and helpful, a wonderful person!!! Top-notch cuisine, very high flavors and quality, very good!

17/04/2026: Garum, five stars!!! The seven seafood appetizers are a dream! I recommend skipping the à la carte menu and trustingly following the food and wine suggestions of Tonino and his staff... Utmost professionalism and courtesy. The bill? 🤗🤗🤗

01/04/2026: Brought to us by friends from Sicily and elsewhere, we visited this lovely, clean, and well-kept restaurant, with Tonino, the owner, as our host. He personally goes fishing, and the freshest catch is served on the table. The raw fish is truly from another planet. Red prawns and scampi, swordfish, tuna, and spaghettini with squid. Typical local first courses. Roasted and unroasted fish. Prices are very reasonable compared to the north. Worth a try if you're in Scicli.

09/06/2026: The food is good, but unfortunately the location suffers from its labyrinthine layout. To eat the pizza (which is excellent, by the way) you need to be incredibly patient, as it takes a long time, given the amount of work they have to do. The fact that the place was packed (and they also do a lot of takeout) confirmed to us that it was worth the wait. They also accommodated us by delivering the pasta dish with the pizzas (I assure you, this isn't always a given in very crowded places on a Saturday night). Overall, the feedback was positive. I recommend it.

25/05/2026: Food was great. Had the mussels, pasta with sardines and fennel, seared tuna. Each was perfectly cooked and well plated. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Spoke perfect English. Prices were very reasonable. Would recommend

11/06/2026: A paradise of freshness, excellent food, and great prices! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A fantastic experience! Marai is located in a beautiful, relaxing, and pleasantly cool location, perfect for unwinding. The food is excellent and the prices are incredibly affordable, an absolute rarity these days. Special mention goes to the staff, who were incredibly kind and super quick to serve us. But the best thing is that you can see their main goal is to make their guests feel good: here, you can stay as long as you want to enjoy the atmosphere, without the worry of being kicked out to free up a table and make more numbers. They don't exploit people in the slightest. If you're looking for a place where you can eat great, spend a fair amount, and experience total peace on the shores of Lake Specchio di Venere, this is the perfect place. Highly recommended!

15/04/2026: Ate here 3 nights ago. I had the fresh tagliatelle with ragu which was very tasty and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. I paired it with a glass of red wine that was recommended by the server and it didn’t disappoint. The decor is very tasteful and the bar stocks a wide variety of drinks for cocktails etc. Antonio who looked after me, was friendly, chatty and very personable. Overall a very pleasant experience.

28/01/2026: If it weren't for the €5 they stole... the prices on the menu probably don't match those on the bill. I'll keep my eyes peeled when I return to Syracuse. You can't trust them!
