15/08/2025: Dinner with the family. We didn't use the rooms. As for the food, you have to like their vegan approach. For me (a carnivore), the appetizer was excellent, the first course was perhaps a bit too heavy, and the dessert was delicious. We didn't order the second course because we were too full. What's striking, however, is the tranquility of the place, a true oasis of peace just steps from the road. Add to that a lovely welcome from Francesca, and you've got a truly relaxing evening.

05/05/2025: Eating at Piccapane is a unique experience: a family environment surrounded by greenery where you can enjoy excellent vegan dishes prepared with attention and love. This was the feeling we felt yesterday at lunch, from the welcome from the very kind staff to the tasting of the dishes, in the choice of which we were carefully guided. The food is incredible, a joy of simple flavors with refined combinations. There is also a small shop where you can purchase their products. Finding an entirely vegan restaurant in Salento was a dream until recently. Piccapane is truly a virtuous example, spokesperson for a change that we hope will spread more and more. (access is also allowed to animals ❤️)

04/09/2025: We visited this restaurant in Lecce with a group of six, with a reservation, and initially the experience was promising. The outdoor setting is charming, nestled in the streets of the historic center, and the food was served promptly (a 10-20 minute wait, absolutely adequate). Unfortunately, the evening took a turn for the worse due to a sudden downpour. I believe the staff didn't handle the situation promptly: several dishes were left out in the rain, and for some of my friends, virtually the entire dinner was wasted. We customers had to make do with "saving" what food we could, eating standing up like 15 other people around us. The staff only gave us a small corner of a table to finish what we had salvaged, a gesture I appreciate, but unfortunately it wasn't accompanied by any other thoughtfulness. When it came time to get the bill, no discount was given, other than the reduction of the cover charge (which, in reality, wasn't applied, given the situation). We pointed out that some people had eaten practically nothing but still found themselves having to pay for everything, and the discussion became tense, with sometimes rude responses. In short: the dishes we sampled were good, but the overall experience was ruined by poorly trained, unresponsive, and, at times, rude service. I believe that, given such a difficult evening for the customers, a little more attention would have been warranted.

13/10/2025: We ate well. The restaurant offers a set menu. I've been back and can confirm that the food is excellent. The tasting menu is truly exquisite!

12/10/2025: We visited Gustavo's and had a very positive overall experience. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly, and approachable, always ready to accommodate guests' needs. The location is magnificent, with a lovely little garden ideal for summer lunches and dinners, and a well-kept, clean, and elegant interior with a rustic touch that makes it welcoming. The menu is a fixed price and includes five appetizers, a first course, a second course, and a dessert (drinks and cover charge not included). The food is excellent, high-quality, and prepared with attention to detail. The only real flaw was the portion size. There were five of us, and the courses were served as a single dish to be shared, resulting in a taste rather than a portion, so much so that we had to ask for more of the second course. There was a bit of a wait between courses, which is understandable given the crowd and the number of seats, but otherwise it was a positive experience. Thank you.

10/06/2025: Il 25 maggio 2025 abbiamo scelto il ristorante *Malcandrino* per festeggiare un’occasione speciale: la Cresima di nostro figlio. Ci era stato consigliato, e possiamo dire di aver fatto una scelta davvero perfetta. Abbiamo trovato un ambiente accogliente, curato nei minimi dettagli, con un servizio professionale e attento. Il cibo è stato ottimo, ricco di sapori autentici e presentato con grande cura. Non possiamo non ringraziare in modo particolare il responsabile, Andrea, che si è dimostrato disponibile e comprensivo: a causa di un imprevisto di viaggio, alcuni ospiti hanno tardato ad arrivare, e nonostante gli impegni serali del locale, ha gestito il tutto con grande eleganza e senza farci sentire in alcun modo sotto pressione. Un posto speciale, che merita davvero di essere conosciuto e apprezzato. Grazie di cuore per aver contribuito a rendere questa giornata indimenticabile!

29/09/2025: The place has a lot of potential, both for its location and its food (which is still good quality). But the organization, the ownership, and (some) of the staff definitely ruin the experience. After my first visit, I gave it a second chance, because anyone can have a bad night. Instead, my first impression was confirmed: total disorganization, rudeness (even bordering on rudeness), unreasonable wait times, and a lack of customer service. Tension was also evident among the staff (with heated arguments in one of the main dining rooms). There won't be a third chance.

27/05/2025: Courteous and helpful staff. Quiet little place. Varied menu, with many first courses available, from meat to fish to pizzeria. I attach some photos of the dinner served in this restaurant. The pizza is cooked in a wood oven, and in winter there is the possibility of dining next to the lit fireplace, which makes this restaurant my absolute favourite. The pizza topped with onion, dried tomatoes and chips, tortelli with gratin cheeses baked, pappardelle with porcini mushrooms, seafood salad and frying. I forgot to photograph the pizza, thin and well seasoned. Stupendous.

31/08/2025: Excellent and plentiful appetizers Pizza by the meter is a great idea, but they should also offer a traditional round pizza (they only make it for those with food intolerances). Slow service, about an hour before taking the order.

05/09/2025: I'm giving one star because it's the minimum I can give, otherwise I'd give less. We waited 30 minutes for a bucket of ice that arrived melted, the wine was lukewarm, the liqueur was hot, and we also had long waits for the dishes. The quality of the food was mediocre and has even gotten worse since the last time we came. Never again.

29/07/2025: Siamo stati in questo ristorante a cena con tutta la famiglia. È stata una meravigliosa scoperta. I camerieri gentilissimi e simpatici ci hanno accolti con limonata fresca. Dopo un gustoso amuse bouche, abbiamo gustato diversi piatti a base di pesce tutti abbondanti e ricercati. Ci ha sorpreso la quantità di pesce fresco presente in tutte le portate. Dall' antipasto al dolce è stata un' esperienza culinaria memorabile.

25/07/2025: Ieri, io e mia moglie, siamo andati a cenare, in codesto rinomato ristorante. Abbiamo ordinato due fritture Senza spine, 19,00 euro cadauno due contorni, uno di patate e l'altro misto di broccoli carciofi carote ecc. Un'acqua minerale naturale e un calice di vino rosato. Le fritture 19,00 euro cadauno, nella norma, senza infamia e Senza lode, il vino non particolare 7,00 un calice, acqua panna 3,00. Coperto 6,00. I contorni, rifiutati in quanto non mangiabili, pertanto la signora alla cassa , ha avuto l'onestà di non conteggiarli. Costo finale 54,00. Delusione, in base alle recensioni, ci saremmo aspettati altro. Peccato,forse era una serata storta, oppure ognuno ha il proprio livello.

12/10/2025: I stayed at this property and it was a horrible experience. A room that should simply be closed forever. Damp, black walls, cockroaches, rusty bathroom fixtures—it's a disgrace to rent a room like that. When I complained to reception, they couldn't change my room because everything was full, and other properties either didn't have room or the prices were exorbitant. We didn't sleep the entire night, waiting for daylight to break and escape. The room was booked on Booking.com, which described it as completely different. If you've booked or are planning to book this hotel, don't get room 12, the room of horrors.

You can tell the ingredients are top-quality, and the price is truly excellent for what you get. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it!
