25/07/2025: Every time we return to Il Gambero, it's like coming home. This restaurant is a true gem: the dishes are simply exceptional, meticulously prepared and bursting with flavor. The fish is incredibly fresh, you can taste the quality in every bite, and the menu items always surprise us with their elegant simplicity. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive without ever being intrusive, and they know how to make every guest feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, conveying a sense of familiarity that makes every visit special. Highly recommended for those who love authentic seafood and are looking for a place to eat well, relax, and feel truly welcomed.

05/08/2025: Recommended by our hotel (which was amazing) But sadly food service and atmosphere were a let down. We had the 5 sapori starter - which was 7/10. Local flavours nicely prepared. Mains had Ciceri e tria and the millefoglie of Seabass. The sea bass was overcooked and ciceri was ok but overcooked. The worst bit was the wine. We ordered a reasonably expensive bottle, they arrived with a different bottle (retails at 50% of what we ordered) and they charged us the same. It felt a bit like a tourist trap and somewhat dishonest. Came away feeling like we had overpaid for a pretty mediocre meal.

29/07/2025: A disastrous experience from start to finish. Soulless cuisine, contemptuous service, and zero attention to the customer. You have to wonder if they’ve ever actually tasted the food they serve. The risotto was dumped onto the plate like in a cheap cafeteria. The fish? Boiled, flavorless, most likely reheated, and I seriously doubt it was fresh. And to top it all off: unpleasant, borderline rude staff who make no effort to understand the order. This restaurant is a disgrace — a perfect example of what hospitality should never be.

22/07/2025: Cena tipica immersi nella pace. Sono in gravidanza ed il personale è stato estremamente gentile e attento. Servizio eccellente e molto veloce. Consiglio l’antipasto misto, il purè di fave e ottima anche la carne. Bellissima esperienza

13/07/2025: I went here with my family and we had two rooms and the room me and my sister got was not really what I was expecting from what I saw in the pictures or on instagram. It smelled really bad and the bathroom could only be locked from the outside. The toilet also had a big gap at the front. We also had mold in a chest under the Tv. Otherwise was the room we had ok, but nothing special. Our mom had a much better room that didn't smell bad and had a normal bathroom. - We were the only people there which was ok, exept for the fact that there was also no staff around. Only one guy was here, who gave us the rooms. - The place where it's located is relaxing and they have a nice pool

09/07/2025: A great experience for my son's 18th birthday party. The location was perfect, well-maintained, and very clean, with attention to detail. The area where the dinner was held was very functional, with the feel of a true Salento farmhouse. It was right next to the manicured lawn and pool area where the cake was cut and where we set up the DJ set. Congratulations, you're very professional. Massimiliano

01/08/2025: Location molto suggestiva, servizio professionale di molto buon livello, mise en place del tavolo e della sala ben progettata e ben reaiizzata, accesso ai tavoli via scalinata in discesa che, per alcuni, potrebbe rissultare difficoltosa, cibo e cucina di elevato livello, tempo di attesa dei piatti molto accettabile. Qualche bambino rumoroso di troppo. Prezzo, per il sud Salento, elevato. Atmosfera e cucina più internazionale che salentina. Un locale così potreste trovarlo in altre note località di mare del mediterraneo: Amalfi, Capri, Cannes. Mikonos, Barcellona .., Se sei un turista (e te lo puoi permettere), almeno una cena dovresti gustarla, se invece sei un ricco, un abbiente, potresti andarci anche tre volte alla settimanai, senza mai stancarti.

31/07/2025: Hearing about it and trying it are not the same thing. This restaurant has earned my taste buds with its cooking and excellent selection of ingredients. Perched on the rocks of Novaglie (Lecce), set for a festive dinner from sunset (the most romantic time to enjoy it), arranged in keeping with the colors and style of Salento, it's a place that will remain in your heart. The fish has the sea inside it, and the chef arranges it artfully. Freshness and creativity, however, come at a price. The quality-price ratio is decidedly high, but if you decide to try it, you have to enjoy it and that's it. Kudos to the owners who have chosen everything to distinguish themselves and win over the customers. You're definitely worth trying again and again 🤩

02/08/2025: We went for dinner and had a hard time getting there because the GPS was pointing the wrong way, but all that was quickly forgotten by the excellent dishes we ate. The combination of flavors was superb. Very satisfied. We recommend it to everyone for the lovely location and excellent food!

30/07/2025: A dear colleague recommended this restaurant, and it was nothing short of sublime. We started with the seafood, which was certainly fresh, and then went on to a first course of penne alla corsara, accompanied by a light but pleasant sparkling white wine. There's nothing left to say except that I hoped I'd never finish that excellent dish. Friendly staff and quick service. I'll definitely be back, thanks for everything!

12/07/2025: Siamo una famiglia con una bambina di 4 anni. Abbiamo ordinato due pizze e una salsiccia per la piccola. Dopo l’ordine, abbiamo iniziato ad aspettare… e aspettare. Dopo un’ora intera abbiamo chiesto informazioni e ci è stato risposto che la salsiccia richiede più tempo per la cottura, una spiegazione che ci ha lasciati sinceramente basiti. Dopo un’ora e un quarto sono finalmente arrivate le pizze, mentre la salsiccia è arrivata solo 5-10 minuti dopo, con un ulteriore sollecito. Un’attesa davvero difficile da giustificare, soprattutto con una bambina affamata. Le pizze erano nella media, ma il servizio lento e la cattiva gestione delle comande hanno compromesso l’esperienza. Peccato, perché il posto ha potenziale, ma così non ci tornerei.

06/08/2025: I spent the first week of August on a half-board basis. The modern hotel has an internal car park, 2 km from the centre, with an outdoor swimming pool, solarium and a brand new, well-equipped gym. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, from the girls at reception who are always smiling and good at giving useful advice on beaches and places to get around. The waiters are extremely professional, the modern rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and varies from savory to sweet. Dinner offered a choice of 2 first courses, 2 second courses and side dishes with dessert, with typical local dishes and you could also choose pizza. Compliments to the chef and the pizza chef. What can I say? A wonderful hotel, first place among all those I have stayed in to date....top

21/08/2025: We all ate well, the fish was good, the pasta dishes were well-prepared, and some were unique and tasted very good. The service was generally good, the girls were very kind and helpful. The only flaw was the rude waiter, who seemed pissed off because they'd mistakenly brought us an extra dish (at the counter they confirmed that the mistake was made in the kitchen, not when we ordered). He got annoyed and started asking, "So, what did you order?" Aside from that little incident, the service was excellent and the location was beautiful; we practically ate by the sea.

30/06/2025: El restaurante está situado justo enfrente del castillo en el casco antiguo de Otranto. El comedor interior es un poco estrecho, así que optamos por el Wintergarden, que ofrece un poco más de espacio. La comida está muy bien presentada y muy imaginativa. Comenzamos con anchoas adobadas servidas con achicoria y mermelada de naranja, una combinación inusual que funciona sorprendentemente bien. A continuación, tuvimos los espaguetis de erizo de mar, que era excepcional. El servicio fue impecable. Es un lugar muy conocido entre los lugareños, así que si estás planeando una visita, asegúrate de hacer una reserva, especialmente por la noche. Los precios son más altos, pero los ingredientes son increíblemente frescos y los platos absolutamente deliciosos.

25/06/2025: Abbiamo cenato in un ambiente poco confortevole ,e siamo stati un po’ isolati dalla cameriera .Sembrava quasi che la nostra presenza non era gradita .A chiudere la cena si è presentato uno grosso scarafaggio proveniente dal soffitto che girava intorno al tavolo. Il personale sembra abituato forse a scene come queste ,hanno schiacciato l’insetto e raccolto . Tutto è tornato nella normalità ,ma noi siamo andati via un po’ infastiditi ,tutto può accadere ma almeno ci aspettavamo le scuse .Sicuramente non ci torneremo. Qualità del cibo discreta per il prezzo pagato.

01/08/2025: Surrounded by greenery, we've stayed there twice, once in an apartment and this year in a room... both were lovely! All the staff were very kind and helpful. The pool was gorgeous and the mini zoo was lovely!! I highly recommend it.

22/07/2025: We stayed in the bungalow for four days, taking advantage of the many amenities offered by the property. First of all, I'd like to highlight the politeness and friendliness of all the staff who accompanied us during these days. The house was spotless, with a pool, and a peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommended for animal lovers who want to spend a few days in complete relaxation. We'll definitely be back!
