11/09/2025: The owner pretends to be friendly, it's a typical foreign tourist spot, the fish is frozen, I don't recommend the appetizer recommended by the owner or the waiters; for me, it's an insult to Italian and Salento cuisine, and Neapolitan neomelodic music is played throughout the meal. The owner slammed me for not being a football fan. Absolutely not recommended.

23/09/2025: The freshest seafood straight from the counter, cooked to perfection! We tried the cavatelli with mussels—excellent flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully blended with fresh tomato. The mixed fried seafood (calamari, cuttlefish, octopus, and shrimp) was truly unique: crispy, light, and completely oily. The shrimp were easy to eat whole, without having to clean them. It was the first time we'd tried such delicious, crispy fried seafood! We were truly impressed by how well-prepared each dish was. We paired everything with a mixed salad and a Mastro Bianco Campania white wine, a perfect pairing. The place is simple and authentic, with the atmosphere of a true Italian trattoria and friendly service. The bill for everything was €70—excellent value for the experience. It's definitely worth stopping here if you're in Taranto—we'll definitely be back!

23/09/2025: A very professional team serving delicious, absolutely fresh, and very high-quality seafood. The dining room is a bit loud, but lively. Those preferring a quieter atmosphere can dine on the terrace. Friendly and prompt service. Reservations recommended.

13/09/2025: We ordered two pizzas, and they were quick to prepare, even though it was Saturday night. The pizzas were cooked perfectly, the dough melts in your mouth, light and airy around the edges. I asked for advice on a pizza, wanting to try something different. They suggested the "DELIZIOSA" pizza, which includes plenty of stracciatella, prosciutto, walnuts, olive oil, and basil. What can I say? Truly delicious, we were extremely satisfied. Kindness and courtesy accompany the deliveries.

27/09/2025: What a great little bakery right by the water in Monopoli. The grottoes and swimming areas are right by it, so you can come and get something delicious before or after a swim. I tried their panzerotti, sfoglia and focaccia. All of were good, but the best way the focaccia with onions. So good, even for takeaway.

26/09/2025: After a long time, I've been thinking about it, and I'm finally giving my overall opinion, my review, of this place. Let's start with the assumption that, as described, it's an Osteria, and therefore should be compared to other establishments in its category. Both in the distant past and more recently, I've frequented it hundreds of times, from simply enjoying a simple but excellent pizza to convivial gatherings with family, friends, and dignitaries. It has never betrayed my trust. Never. At the Osteria of Maurizio and Letizia Protopapa, people I respect for their professionalism and great availability, it feels like being at home, in the best sense of the word, with the added bonus of good, typical local cuisine that's always fresh and plentiful, regardless of whether you're a regular or a passing tourist. They make no distinction, and I've always noticed this over time. Let's start by judging their "simple" mixed fried food and long potato panzerotti as a centerpiece. It seems simple, but there's art to it. To move on, even though we rarely order them, to the mixed seafood appetizers. For my tastes, the highlight is the sagne ncannulate (a sort of fresh pasta fettuccine rolled and closed at the ends), especially served with tomato sauce and horse meat strips, and then topped with a variety of seasonal accompaniments, such as today's fresh porcini mushrooms. The main courses are varied and always plentiful, from various types of roasted meat, pieces of horse meat in tomato sauce, quality cheeses and cured meats, fried fish, and more. They offer a wide selection of wines, both mid-range and high-end. The selection of beers is equally extensive, and finally, there's a wide selection of spirits to choose from. The price is very fair for the quality and quantity of food. My heartfelt compliments to Maurizio and Letizia, as well as to the kitchen staff, Salvatore and Antonio.

Excellent ingredients, both for traditional dishes and for truly exquisite and unique pizzas with a wide selection. Very good prices compared to other places considering the quality. Welcoming staff. 11/10/2025: Love this homey little restaurant, tucked away in a small alley. We have eaten here two nights in a row, and both nights everything has been great. Prices are reasonable, food is excellent, and the people are friendly and accommodating. Pizzas are great, with tons of options using local fresh ingredients. Meat was prepared to perfection (steak was prepared medium, as requested), and the salads were fresh. Both the server and the chef/owner spoke some English and were easy to communicate with. If you are into wine, the menu doesn't show all the available wines, so make sure to ask the server for help or look on the wall where bottles are displayed for the full selection. They have a strong representation of local wines with a few central and northern Italian options. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a more intimate feeling up the stairs on the first floor, away from the busy street. If you're looking for a small, quieter place with home-cooked, unpretentious meals, give them a try.

05/09/2025: We went to Fra Stefano in Peschici, drawn by the reviews and the idea of ​​trying the catch of the day, which the waiter had also suggested when we ordered. When we asked for more specific information, the waiter seemed hesitant and after a while returned, saying it couldn't be served because the oven was broken. So far, so understandable... except that shortly afterward, we saw the catch of the day being served at the table next to us, when miraculously the oven started working again. (Perhaps because the customer, in our opinion, wasn't a tourist but a local?) In the end, we were forced to opt for pan-fried sea bass for the modest sum of €20, but there was only a quarter of a half of a sea bass. This episode left us perplexed and disappointed. The rest of the meal was decent; I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

19/10/2025: So let's proceed in order. Appetizers, first or second course, and dessert. Everything was very good except for the desserts, where we ordered two spumoni (spumoni) but weren't told what flavor (olives) they had, and for us, it was truly inedible. The service was certainly very attentive, but I gave it 4 stars for the price. Nine of us spent €489, with the appetizers alone costing around €22, which honestly isn't justified given that the small pieces were so small and no mozzarella or cured meats arrived. Plus, the desserts were really expensive. As for the food quality, there's nothing to envy.

18/10/2025: It’s an amazing restaurant offerng delicious and fresh Apulian kitchen :) I loved it and went there for my birthday when I was visiting Bari. They offer fresh pasta, sea food, Italian cheese and main dishes, all unique to Apulian kitchen made w local products. I had a glass of white wine w my meal and it was perfect. The wines are local as well. The staff does not English that much but they help a lot in offerng nice selections from the menu. It’s a locally decorated restaurant w Apulian kitchen touches. You historically feel the vibes! In means of pricing, as they are serving quality food, the prices are exactly in line w their service and quality. Highly recommended!

13/10/2025: We sat in the small area of outdoor tables in front of the restaurant. The weather was cool and windy but this spot in the sun was sheltered and made for a wonderful afternoon lunch. We had a delicious pizza but the highlight was the tuna tartar on creamed avocado. Service was excellent with the staff tirelessly climbed the stairs from the outdoor seating to the kitchen.

12/10/2025: Delicious food, great service, beautiful views. The orecchiette with broccoli turnip was superb, and the pizza was amazing. I recommend it.

15/08/2025: We've been going to Anama Complex for years. The food has always been excellent, with generous appetizers and delicious dishes, always at low and competitive prices! Now that they've opened and renovated the New Maxi Hall, everything is truly even more wonderful and bright!! I recommend Anama Complex for any special event or just a family lunch. The staff is knowledgeable and always friendly. Well done!
