05/01/2026: Last Saturday, January 3, 2026, six of us had a wonderful meal at this trattoria. We had, among other things, a delicious pasta with mushrooms and sausage, fried fish, and various types of grilled meat. The portions are very generous, and Giuseppe goes above and beyond to please his guests.

07/12/2025: We stopped for a quick bite, like an appetizer. The very kind waiter recommended the house appetizer for two. More than just an appetizer! It was like lunch, as they added a sample of risotto, which was delicious. Highly recommended for the quality of the food and the kindness of the staff.

26/12/2025: On the way back from the sea we decided to stop for lunch. Very positive experience, the unique location in the full centre of the salento peninsula makes it the right place for whom is criss crossing it. Said that the real add value was the food. We took the antipasto della casa made by 6 different plates all of them superb and unique. We then went into 3 primi orecchiette, cappellacci, and gnocchi each one with a superb sauce. Honestly food was so good that we could not decide which one was the best one. If you are really into locally made food with a view to innovation, then it is a must try. Well done indeed.

21/12/2025: The atmosphere is very charming, the dishes are sophisticated, and especially the desserts, one in particular is truly original! It was very crowded, so it took a while for the food to arrive, but that's understandable considering how crowded it was. I recommend making reservations, especially on holidays or the day before. Very charming, I especially recommend it to those who enjoy more unusual cuisine.

05/01/2026: I don't know how it gets such high reviews! Orecchiette with turnip tops floating in the water, all you could taste was the anchovy! Grilled vegetables full of garlic and terrible caciocavallo podolico cheese. Not to mention the coffee, undrinkable! I couldn't digest the orecchiette and was sick all afternoon!! Nope!

29/11/2025: Excellent food Courteous and friendly service I thank Giovanni and Gianmarco who welcomed us and guided us through our selection of dishes, suggesting their specialties while respecting our tastes and needs. I recommend it to anyone visiting Monte Sant'Angelo.

26/12/2025: A guaranteed family lunch, we had a wonderful time. The waiters were very kind and professional, and at the end of the meal, the hostess offered us coffee and liqueurs to wish us a Merry Christmas. I'll be back for Epiphany.

25/12/2025: The food was pretty inedible: overcooked pasta with no flavor other than boiled meat. The same went for the second course, dry pandoro. They brought the full plates back to the kitchen without even apologizing or bothering to understand why, given the rather uneconomical bill. Loveless cooking, zero attention to detail.

Nuestra experiencia con la cena fue 100% fantástica, desde el amuse bouche hasta el aperitivo y las cenas, tanto nuestros postres elegidos como los pequeños postres que vinieron con nuestra experiencia. El vino era fantástico de la bodega local Produttori di Manduria y el servicio era lo que cabría esperar de un restaurante de este calibre y, sin embargo, también amable, personal, y con un guiño. 20/01/2026: Unfortunately, this time I have to give a less than positive review of this restaurant. My husband and I ate there perhaps a couple of years ago and were completely satisfied, so much so that we couldn't wait to return. This time, however, things didn't go as expected. Unfortunately, one of our guests wasn't well that day, so we had to go up and down from the dining room, which was upstairs (heated), to the bathroom, which was downstairs (freezing and unheated), next to the exit, reached by a long staircase leading to the restaurant's exit. This isn't a bad thing; the place is fine, but at least heating the area would have been more pleasant. Aside from that, the €45 menu they offered was of fairly poor quality. The dishes included extremely salty chicory, grass peas, and pancotto, along with undercooked mushrooms. Several dishes were loaded with large pieces of garlic, so much so that I managed to remove a couple of pieces from my mouth, recognizing the flavor. And, even more seriously, something the staff and owners initially tried to gloss over, which makes the matter even worse, was that one of our guests found a piece of glass the size of a lentil stuck in his teeth while eating the chicory and grass peas. When we alerted them, the staff members quickly removed the food from the table, apologizing but failing to notify the appropriate authorities. When we reported it, one of the managers/owners tried to turn the tables, saying it could have been a pebble or even a lentil. The other manager came to apologize, but still sounded as if we were the ones making the mistake, saying that a glass had broken, but not near the kitchen and some time before. We also immediately informed them that three out of six people were lactose intolerant, including one of the three lactose-free children's menus. And amidst further confusion, our appetizer arrived, along with pasta with sauce from the children's menu, which was then followed by the children's appetizer consisting of "cooked ham and lactose-free mozzarella," according to the staff's description. But upon looking at the mozzarella from the regular appetizer and the one from the lactose-free children's menu, they found the same ones, so we called their attention to it, and only then did they bring us the three lactose-free robiola cheeses. In short, without further ado, we had to explain and request the staff's attention several times over numerous small (and not so small) details. Personally, I lost my appetite and trust in them after the glass incident. They did, of course, try to remedy their behavior somehow, but always with an air of superficiality and annoyance. Perhaps only the staff members were truly kind because they realized it wasn't a good day, given the diner's health, who had been unwell the entire time. Despite everything, we apologized several times for this, having somehow delayed their work, while from them we only received annoyed looks and attempts to downplay the situation. And honestly, given that the glass incident is quite serious, I think they should have been a little more considerate. But that's okay. I'm sorry, but we're not there yet. Good luck!

18/01/2026: Besides the charming location, the dishes are truly top-notch, especially the appetizers. The meat is also very good, and the staff is super friendly. My partner and I went there last night. I absolutely recommend it!
