08/12/2025: I had gone to visit the markets of Somma, and then I was looking for a restaurant, since the reviews speak well of it, I tried it and found it excellent, the food was excellent, the dish of the day offered was excellent, the dessert excellent, excellent service very kind and friendly and nice.

The dishes were delicious, generous, and the chocolate meringue was enormous 😍 compared to other restaurants that halve the portions. The waiters were very kind and very accommodating to every request. We'll be back, thank you. 😁 We'll definitely be back.

The staff couldn't even tell us if certain drinks or dishes were available. This gives a total impression of disorganization. We had ordered appetizers to share, and the staff tried to clear the dishes away when they weren't finished yet, while some people were still eating. Everything was done very quickly, with the clear impression that they wanted to clear the table as quickly as possible. One person at our table was served almost 20 minutes after the others, when we were almost finished eating. Unacceptable. The final bill was also higher than expected, likely with some dishes being double-charged. Going to a restaurant/trattoria doesn't mean going to a fast food restaurant. You go to take your time and enjoy the moment, not to be quickly sent away. A real shame, because the food deserves top-notch service.

15/01/2026: After hearing about Vicolino's Elephant Ear for years, we finally decided to go last night. My girlfriend, my friend, his girlfriend, and I booked a table a few days in advance. I'd never been here before, but I have to say my already high expectations were exceeded! Let's start with the signature dish, the Elephant Ear. "Huge" doesn't quite do it justice. It arrived at the table like a veritable monument, but every bite was a revelation: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, perfectly seasoned, and despite its impressive size, it wasn't heavy—perfect balance. We washed it all down with two bottles of wine, and the atmosphere immediately warmed up. But the real star of the evening? Milo, the waiter who looked after us from start to finish. A young man with a smile that immediately puts you at ease and an uncommon kindness. He never missed a thing, was incredibly helpful, and joked with us without being intrusive. His attention to detail and desire to make guests feel special from the start are the little things that make all the difference. 10 points to him alone. Without him, it would have been a good dinner, but with him, it was unforgettable. In short: exceptional food (try the Orecchia, you won't regret it), well-matched wines, and service that transforms an evening with friends into a moment to remember. Al Vicolino isn't just a restaurant: it's an experience. And if there's one reason to return, besides the menu, it's definitely seeing Milo again. Thank you for making us feel at home!

21/09/2025: Home cooking with quality ingredients. The legendary Brigida (owner and cook) truly knows how to live the life of a traditional innkeeper. So, in addition to her divine cooking, she also manages to entertain and delight her guests with stories and tales! 👏💪 Highly recommended!

16/09/2025: The food was not so overwhelming! The perch fillet was fried and quite bland. The only reason to visit, is the old couple who run it and they give you a bit of an italian experience.

14/01/2026: I went last night for the first time and it will also be the last. The starters and meat were good, the fish main courses inedible. We didn't even eat one of three different courses. What surprised me was that when it came to the bill, knowing that the three courses were brought back whole and they had asked why, and we kindly explained why, they didn't have the good sense to discount those dishes. We paid for everything in full without comment, but it will be the first and last time. An experience not to be repeated.

28/01/2026: This is my partner and I've been here for the second time. It's a wonderful place, the food is excellent, the prices are in line with the quality, and the service is excellent. The only downside is that once you see the menu, at least give us time to order.

05/11/2025: Incredible family restaurant with a truly picturesque atmosphere. We had seafood delicacies for lunch and everything was absolutely delicious. Even a colleague who doesn't prefer seafood had to admit that they made it so that he liked it. 😀 Added to that selected Italian wines and an extraordinary experience was born.👏

25/01/2026: Terrible place, terrible experience. Noisy, haphazard service, mistakes. But above all, it's a place that allows a group to shout, insult other guests, even severely, and mock elderly people and women without intervening beyond mild sneers. The waitress, or perhaps the owner, then asked the insulted guests to pay and leave, not the other way around. Totally not recommended.

22/02/2026: A very welcoming place, far from the chaos of Gallarate. It offers exquisitely prepared dishes, complemented by beautiful visuals. The ingredients are well-prepared and the staff is very helpful. I spent a wonderful evening with friends without ever feeling like I was in a small, intimate setting.

16/02/2026: Very salty pizza accompanied by wine. Sparkling tap water in plastic jugs. Best avoided. Response to the owner: I remind you that you served us the wine yourself, filling our glasses.
