08/03/2026: Stayed with family over the weekend of March 6-8. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming: the common areas were just a bit "lived in," yet well-maintained and clean. The room was cozy and spacious: a comfortable bed, an excellent and manageable temperature, and amenities beyond our expectations. The location was perfect: right on the edge of the pedestrian area. The restaurant is fantastic, and after our first dinner, we never changed because of the authentic and balanced flavor (tagliatelle with meat sauce, ossobuco with polenta, a welcome appetizer, and complimentary limoncello). It's clear that the entire team has put in a lot of care, professionalism, and grace. Excellent value for money. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of dried fruit and cereals, and on Sundays, cakes galore. You can tell when someone loves their job. If I were to return to Varese 100 times, I'd always stay at the Hotel Bologna.

13/11/2025: This is our third time eating here this year. But unfortunately, we weren't as satisfied as before; what a shame... My wife was happy with the fish dish, and the pizzas seem to be popular with other guests. But my porcini mushroom pasta dish was a real disappointment in its sticky sauce. And the Caprese appetizer was even worse: tasteless, unripe tomatoes, no flavor at all, two small basil leaves, olive oil, no breadsticks... A restaurant with huge quality fluctuations?

20/02/2026: A charming place, surrounded by nature and perfect for horse lovers, with surrounding stables, paintings, and sculptures. We celebrated my birthday and were completely satisfied with the location, the staff, and of course the food! The appetizer with excellent cured meats and the risotto were amazing! We'll definitely be back.

06/02/2026: For a while now, whenever I want a truly good, rich, and easily digestible pizza, I've been coming to this restaurant. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. They also serve excellent classic dishes. And the prices are very fair. What more could you ask for? The four stars for the atmosphere are only because I have a different taste, not because anything is out of place!

15/01/2026: It's close to home. We ate mussels with Taranto sauce, turbot, everything was good and worth the money. 40 each, including prosecco, dessert, and coffee. Well done, well done, well done :-) And happy birthday to ME ;-)

20/09/2025: We came for pizza, but we had to go to the kitchen because there was an hour and a half wait. Then, when they served us from the kitchen, they told us we could also eat pizza. Very rude behavior.

05/09/2025: Terrible experience at the Kiosk (August). We were greeted by a stressed pensioner who huffed and puffed, talking behind his back, and shaking his head at every customer request. It's a shame about the restaurant, which is very nice, and the owner, who seemed very professional. But for goodness sake, let stressed pensioners act like pensioners.

14/03/2026: The pizza smelled of charcoal, black all around and underneath. Inedible. I felt disgusted at having bought burnt food that I wouldn't even feed to chickens.

12/03/2026: I had finished eating, but my plate was cleared away even though my companion was still eating. We weren't asked if we wanted dessert until we asked for the bill. The waitstaff seemed more preoccupied with the regulars than with attending to the entire dining room.

23/01/2026: Excellent local menu, impeccable service, and a lovely atmosphere. I'll be back again! A little tip: if you make a little effort and write the menus in English, foreign guests will be doubly happy.

At our table, everyone chose a different meat dish, a sign of a varied and well-designed menu, and we were all completely satisfied: well-selected meats, precise cooking, and balanced flavors that showcase the raw ingredients. Each dish arrived beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.

05/12/2025: Truly delicious! Great price and excellent quality, not to mention the friendliness of the lady and gentleman! Their son, who is also the chef, is truly excellent! I highly recommend it.

04/03/2026: Dinner for the first time, a pleasant surprise. Beautiful location, top-notch service, excellent food, and I'm not sure what the bill is. I think it should cost at least €80-100. Well spent, I must say.

28/02/2026: Well-prepared dishes. Service inadequate for the restaurant's level. Excessively long waits. Little attention paid to tables. The wine list, mostly French, is excellent, and obviously very extensive. A place for those who don't care about prices. Not for everyone. The clientele is very particular. Unfortunately, we've had to deal with some unpleasant comments due to excessive wine and a certain provincialism. Not exactly a place to return to, despite the high prices. Not recommended.
