05/11/2023: I booked one night here for the end of our 28 day trip to Italy based upon the photos, reviews and proximity to the airport. It is a stately property with a history. But it is a joke to suggest it is being run as a hotel - I counted two employees in total, one unfriendly desk clerk, and one Jack-of-all-trades fellow who hustled between being bellhop, bartender and server, who I suspect also cooked (microwaved) our “pizza” and “chicken cutlet” at the bar area. Folks at the bar literally had to wait for him to reappear from somewhere else in the hotel in order to ask for drinks or food. The room we were given - billed as a junior suite - was large but spartan, the furniture a strange mix of goodwill castoffs, the bed an uncomfortable futon on a metal frame, and a climate system that was turned off. It was warm in the room and no way to fix that, especially since the windows were shuttered and inaccessible. We were told the air conditioning is shut off in the “winter”. This was October and the temperatures still in the 70s. The bathroom was sizable but the lights flashed on and off at odd intervals and there were no amenities aside from an all-in-one shampoo/conditioner/body wash. All in all it served a purpose - we had a place to sleep the night before our morning flight. But aside from that, this place was an aged, possibly haunted, down on its heels pile that desperately needs real management and a desire to operate or it should just be razed. At a minimum it should not bill itself as a hotel with bar and restaurant. Joke.

10/09/2023: We stayed at Hotel Villa Malpensa for one night. The Villa itself is beautiful and our time there was excellent. It was a very good idea to go to hotel's Restaurant for dinner. We love cold beer in the. hot. evening. Did not order Entree (were not too hungry). Primi was squid ink gnocchi with pieces of octopus. Secondi was roasted in oven beef with potatoes. Very tasty. Price was proper. Thanks. We will come here again. (Next. morning. we had breakfast in this restaurant too, very good, thanks)
