25/02/2025: One of the best hotels ever! There are many things to say but one prevails over all, the owner Mr. Fioroni. A man who will make your stay unforgettable. An artist, musician, writer, an invaluable figure, historical memory of the delightful village and in short a friend of every customer. A unique, incomparable experience, which will make you discover the true Italian culture, made of stories, music and good food. The historic place is well enhanced by the small square and the view overlooking the lake. A few meters away every service and honest prices.

22/08/2024: Good and friendly service, but the food is just not right. It does not serve the expectations of how they represent theirselves and how the prices are set. The ravioli were covered with three different sauces. Overall, a layer of thick sepia sauce was put on many dishes, such as the squid. Also, you can find their mayonaise kind of sauce on most dishes. Here, less is more in my opinion. The octopus was a bit on the chewy side. The prices might indicate haute cuisine, but it is not.

21/10/2024: Experience ratée pour nous. Malgré la gentillesse du personnel, les plats n’étaient pas bon. Nous n’avons pas réussi à finir les assiettes. L’eau pétillante ne l’était pas. Cadre un peu froid et prix élevé (rapport qualité/prix)

14/03/2025: A good hotel with nice and professional staff. I saw three different rooms, all clean and well equipped. The rooms on the lake side are quiet, on the street side they are noisy but that is logistical and you have to be ready for that.

23/02/2025: Rooms are spacious and clean Staff friendly and helpful Right by the forniculare - very cute town Restaurant downstairs has nice views and serves good breakfast in the morning Maybe a bit Expensive all things considered Street side is very noisy because of the Cars in the street so close to the room. I gave it 4 stars is because the room is not super luxurious or updated and still kind of expensive, but I think it's the product of the area. We had the choice between a lake view standard room or a street view double room (family room with 2 separate rooms and beds for 4 people) for about 130 euros in the middle of the week in the winter. I think though I have seen the same one bed room online for 85 euros which left me a bit perplexed because they offered it to us at 130 when we arrived asking if we wanted to change ours for that one. I'm sure they meant well but this is what happened. For us though it was great to have 2 rooms but some people might expect a little more at that price. This little town is very picturesque and we took a very nice walk up into the cunicoli and little viottoli.

02/04/2025: Excellent outdoor trattoria. I tasted excellent spaghetti with cheese and black pepper. Excellent!!!!! We also tasted the gnocchi and they were also very delicious. Very friendly staff!!! Correct price-quality ratio!!!!!

02/04/2025: Excelente trattoria al aire libre. Degusté unos excelentes spaghettis con queso y pimienta negra. Excelentes!!!!!. Tambien degustamos los gnochis y tambien muy ricos. Personal muy amable!!!. Relación calidad-precio correcta!!!!!

29/11/2024: Acogedor y encantador restaurante con bar. El restaurante ofrece un pequeño menú con antipasti, primi piatti, platos principales de carne y pescado y postres. Hermosas vistas de los alrededores y el lago. Servicio amable. Deliciosa comida. Las porciones no son demasiado grandes para que puedas tomar un antipasti, pasta y plato principal sin comer en exceso. La cocina está abierta a partir de las 12: 00 a 14 : 00 y a partir del 19 : 00 a 21 : 00 . Cerrado el miércoles. Las plazas de aparcamiento, como en todas partes alrededor del lago, son pequeñas y difíciles de encontrar, pero si tienes suerte, puedes aparcar a la entrada del restaurante. Entre semana el menú está un poco más comprendido pero en nuestra segunda vez aquí estaba de nuevo delicioso.

02/11/2024: After a long wandering around more or less well-known but full restaurants, we practically, almost by chance, found this restaurant. Destiny, luck?! We still ask ourselves that. Because everything that arrived at the table, from the starters, cheeses and cured meats, to the excellence of the perch risotto, to the desserts, to the house wine (Chardonnay), was all delicious. And if that wasn't enough, the friendliness and attention of the service won us over just as much as the food. Recommended, to be recommended, to be tried. We will definitely be back. They truly gave us a wonderful experience. Well done!!!!

23/03/2025: Nice restaurant, with a nice view and a good number of adjacent parking lots. Very pleasant location even inside, with warm tones and also a nice lit fireplace. The service was excellent, fast and the waitress helpful and friendly. I would have expected something more from the food, I liked the type of bread, but pasta, especially the one with roe deer ragù, was quite insignificant, better with mushrooms. A place I would recommend, and I would go back maybe to try something else.

04/03/2025: Rustic and welcoming atmosphere. The service, in my opinion, should be improved: a few more smiles would simply be enough (the customer would appreciate it). The dishes are discreet and correct in quantity. The quality-price ratio is also right. Skis recommended.

23/10/2024: Nous cherchions un restaurant traditionnel avec parking et vue sur le lac, et nous avons trouvé cette pépite dans les hauteurs de Menaggio. Le patron, Umberto, parle un très bon français, il a vécu un temps à Paris, et il s'est occupé de nous comme si nous étions des amis. Nous nous sommes régalés avec des plats traditionnels, des pâtes faites maison (Raviolis aux noix de Saint Jacques et crevettes incroyables) et des pizzas délicieuses, et un excellent amaro digestif offert pour conclure ce vrai moment de convivialité, un de ceux qui vous font forcément aimer l'Italie, merci Umberto et à bientôt!

20/10/2024: Questo posto è perfetto per un pranzo tra amici o in famiglia, personale disponibile e accogliente. Gli sciat e la polenta uncia ottimi e delicati. Pizzoccjeri e risotto al persico sublimi. La tagliata tenerissima. I dolci leggeri e delicati. Il panorama è incantevole, siamo stati a nostro agio mangiando molto bene. Da provare. Isabella

10/10/2024: Had dinner here on the first night of arrival at Cala Gonone and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to the trip. All the dishes were superb - monkfish starters, homemade pasta with clams and bottarga, and the salt baked whole fish, a cross between sea bream and dorado - and paired with a most delicious white wine made from a bud grated native grape varietal.
