06/02/2026: We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here in 2015 and we try to come back every year. In those 10 years, the food, service and atmosphere have never dipped below 5 stars. They were very accommodating and really went above and beyond for our rehearsal dinner and remember us every year. Hopefully we're lucky enough to go for another 10 years!

19/05/2026: We spent two nights about ten days ago at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Perched right on the lake, its location is ideal. The room we were given wasn't quite right, but for a small extra charge, we were given another. It was large, clean, well-equipped, and perfect, with a view of the lake. Just a hundred meters from the dock where you can take a boat trip around the lake, stopping at various ports of call, you eventually reach Bellagio, a charming little town. In short, I highly recommend this hotel. I should add that the owner, a Frenchman, was welcoming and friendly.

17/05/2026: We booked at La Corte with high expectations and were disappointed. The dishes we chose didn't match those in the reviews, specifically the octopus and fried fish, but we understand that places remain the same and the chefs change. The requirement to order two fried dishes is also incomprehensible... it's a rule that applies to risottos, but I've never experienced this with other dishes. Furthermore, the fried food tasted very fried, and the batter flavor prevailed. The wine list is nothing exceptional... Our negative review doesn't apply to the service, which was very professional.

03/05/2026: We had reserved a table at this restaurant for our last evening at Lake Como. Our expectations were quite high due to the good reviews. We got a table right by the water. When we opened the menu, the prices initially shocked us. Yes, Lake Como is expensive, and we're happy to spend more for good food... but paying almost €30 for a 'normal' pasta dish was still a bit much. Well, since it was our last evening, we ordered what we fancied anyway (one pasta with pistachio cream and prawns, one fish with a side dish). Both were €30 each, plus a side salad (which consisted of just a few green leaves, some other carelessly arranged bits and pieces, and far too much dressing made from plain yogurt). This salad then cost an unbelievable €14. A bottle of wine started at €30 (online price €12). To our disappointment, the food didn't really live up to expectations. My pasta tasted of absolutely nothing. It was so bland that any homemade sauce would taste better. There were a maximum of three prawns on the plate, cut into tiny pieces. My partner's fish was lukewarm. For the price, we simply expected more. The only time anyone asked if everything was okay was at the very end, when the table was finally cleared. I said "well," and poof, the plates were gone, and no one asked any further questions. The female server (with short hair on the sides) was very friendly. The male server (with a larger belly), on the other hand, seemed forcedly friendly and was rather unpleasant. We definitely wouldn't come back. Yes, the view was nice, but you can get that almost anywhere on Lake Como.

18/05/2026: We stayed at the family run Albergo Il Vapore for 2 nights and the hospitality we had from Pinuccia and Simone was second to none. The evening dinner at the restaurant we had was so good we ate there 2 nights in a row! The fresh pasta and fish dishes were deliciously prepared by the chef Simone.... make sure to book if eating here as its very popular! Highly recommended!

15/05/2026: Had the absolute best lunch here with my wife during our time in Lake Como. Albergo Il Vapore is everything you hope to find in Italy — authentic, family-run, warm, and completely unforgettable. The setting in the heart of Menaggio is beautiful, but it’s the atmosphere and homemade food that truly make this place special. Every dish tasted like it was made with genuine care and tradition. Fresh pasta, incredible flavors, simple ingredients done perfectly — the kind of meal that reminds you why Italian cuisine is loved around the world. You can feel the passion in every plate. The service was equally wonderful: welcoming, relaxed, and genuinely kind, making us feel more like guests in someone’s home than customers at a restaurant. What we loved most was how authentic everything felt. No tourist traps, no unnecessary fuss — just outstanding food, a charming atmosphere, and a memorable experience shared together. Easily one of the highlights of our entire trip and without question the best lunch we had in Italy. If you’re visiting Menaggio, do yourself a favor and eat here. We’ll be talking about this meal for a very long time.

05/05/2026: We were a group of eight and ate here. A particular highlight is the large parking lot directly across the street. The restaurant is right on the lake and has a seating area directly on the water as well as on the other side of the street. The waiter, Massimo, was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food arrived very quickly. Everything was fresh and tasted fantastic. You can tell that the kitchen really puts thought into creating something special. Whether pasta, fish, or meat, it was all excellent. In addition, we were also recommended a very good wine at a very fair price. Keep it up! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

02/05/2026: Excellent dinner! Perfect and very pleasant service. Vegan/vegetarian options available. The perch rice was unforgettable. I found the seitan a little bland, but the hummus was amazing!! Unique welcome and a special atmosphere.

25/02/2026: Excellent food, but it's the soul of the place that makes the difference. The paella is exquisite and the meat is superb!!! Matteo and his partner make you feel like guests more than customers: he's down-to-earth, friendly, and like one of the family. We left with a smile and a free bag of herbs for our herbal tea, a truly thoughtful touch. Definitely book a table to enjoy this carefree experience. We'll definitely be back.

18/05/2026: We had high expectations for La Colombetta, the Tuna Tartare was amazing! However, we were not asked how we would like our filet cooked, and it came basically uncooked. By the time our server came to check on our meal, my wife and I had shared our other entree, and our server was very forceful in that we should’ve asked to have the filet cooked more once it arrived, when it would’ve have been impossible to recreate the dish in the first place, given the sauce. When the bill came, our server exclaimed that our starter, tuna tartare, should have a 20% split charge. Bummed overall by the experience.

13/05/2026: Being vegetarians we booked a table for dining last fall but couldn't cancel it despite enough advance notice. We were advised that it was clearly mentioned on the restaurant website that the 50 Euro deposit (pp) was nonrefundable in the event of cancellation (this should have set off alarm bells) but can only be used for a later visit. Anyway, we moved our reservation to a visit this spring. We were told in advance that we will have vegetarian options available. Unfortunately, both entrees that we ordered (Tagliolini with black truffle and Asparagus gratin and eggs with black truffles) were anything but extraordinary. The Asparagus gratin literally consisted of some shaved truffles and half fried egg laid over some asparagus shoots. So much for gourmet food. The staff was extraordinary in their service but food quality was no where close to the high praise that we had come across in the reviews. Interestingly, we were the only diners in the whole restaurant for a good 2 hours we were there that night!

11/05/2026: Anyone who gives this restaurant a bad review is because they don't know what to order and end up paying a lot for dishes that aren't typical of the lake. We shared an appetizer with excellent lake fish, ordered a risotto with Persian fish and another typical fish with butter and sage, a nice bottle of white wine (Pinot Grigio) from Lombardy, and our dinner was wonderful. I've lived in Italy for 13 years, I know that restaurants on Lake Como are expensive, but this one was worth every penny.

02/05/2026: Mediocre, very low quality with high prices for what's on offer. It's a shame because the atmosphere and the venue deserve it.
