20/07/2025: Let's start with the assumption that if you're looking for a typical Milanese restaurant, don't go there. You'll be too happy with the hospitality. My husband and I were craving southern Italian fish, and to our surprise, this restaurant thrilled us. Not because of the elaborate dishes, but because of the simple ones. The mother prepares a fish soup with tomato sauce that truly takes you back in time. Davide, the son and owner, is incredibly kind and has maintained the classic table service approach that I adore, as does my husband. I highly recommend you go because the fish is fresh and the ingredients are truly fantastic. Giulia and Paolo.

04/06/2025: Really little, probably some forms of catering think it is enough to mention the south to establish a presumed quality. Lazy, evasive, at times presumptuous service. Several times we had to call or request service after long waits. A dish was wrong, an unrequested label was pushed insistently. The dishes brought to the table were freely assigned to the diners without caring who - had ordered what. Some dishes on the menu were not available, declaring this only after ordering. The quality of the dishes was absolutely not such as to justify the cost, I would define it as classic, traditional cuisine, which is not a bad thing at all, but made in a flat and characterless way. Negligible desserts. Sorry, but our experience was really poor.

13/10/2025: Trattoria San Giacomo is the place you find yourself at after you’ve failed to make dinner reservations elsewhere. The wait isn’t too bad. You are in the prettiest part of Bellagio and they offer pillows that you can sit down on as you wait on the stairs. They try their best to accommodate everyone and the staff is very communicative about timing. The food is not great. Perhaps some dishes are good, but overall not great. I decided to keep it simple—I ordered the pasta dish of the day which was a mushroom pasta and the fresh ricotta and spinach ravioli in sage and butter sauce. The pasta dish with mushrooms was so bad that I had them replace it, which they were kind enough to do with no charge. The mushrooms were boiled, tasteless and soggy. The pasta was served with the boiling water it came with, or that’s what I’m assuming as it was clear and bland. The ricotta ravioli on the other hand was good. Good, but not great. This is definitely a restaurant catered to tourists, which is fine. You’re just not going to have a fantastic meal here.

11/10/2025: We waited in line 45 minutes before they opened as you have to or you won’t get a spot, no reservations accepted. They have cushions you can crab and sit on the steps. Inside they play older American music loudly. Wish they had Italian music, would make for a better ambiance. After we were seated inside a little after 7pm it took 15 minutes to take our drink orders then another 15-20 minutes to get our water and coke delivered. We ordered the salad and soup of the day which were fine after we doused them with salt. We ordered the Osso Buco di Vitelo and the Tagliolini with meat sauce. Both were very bland and had no taste, had to douse them with salt. The beef shank was soft and tasted good after seasoning. The pasta was below average even after seasoning, barely any sauce or meat. Over all disappointed with the experience-this is a very hyped up place and not worth the hoops you have to jump through and time to get in here. We hoped for a better experience, but will not be coming back.

05/08/2025: I chose this restaurant as it supposedly was good for seafood lovers. However I didn't enjoy the food as much as I anticipated. The service was super slow and the food was mediocre. For starter I ordered a "special" pasta as a local gentleman next to me who was a customer here had ordered one. The version I received was a "simplified" version of his plate. It looked more creamy compared to what I received. It tasted good though. After another long 20 minutes I finally got my mixed grill plate and again the quality was mediocre at best. For a grilled dish you expect it to be served hot, but you could tell the plate was standing on the counter easily for 10 minutes or more. The shrimps were cold and chewy without any garlic or taste. All in all was not a pleasant experience. I was only served some bread without any olive oil or balsamic, ...

16/08/2025: We stopped for a late lunch with a view of the lake. The place is classy, airy, the atmosphere was quiet, and the service excellent. The prices were comparable if not lower than most of the restaurants in the nearby piazzas, and if you're looking for a much quieter classy place this is it.

02/10/2025: Service was poor, plates were removed before we had finished Noone came to check in to ask how the good was My empty glass was removed from the table but noone asked if I wanted another drink (... I did...) Food was delicious, tasty, but definitely over priced. Preferred restaurant Barchetta for the pasta quality and half the price. No complaints with food quality- very fresh. Atmosphere was busy and bustling but felt very entitled and think we were just overlooked because we werent spending hundreds on wine. Overall a nice evening, but nothing special. Definitely would not come back.

04/10/2025: The quality isn't excellent. Too much of everything, and ultimately, everything is mediocre. The sushi is good, the meat and fish are adequate. The first courses are decent. The desserts are awful. This place is best for lunch, as it's more affordable, but in the evening, it's better to go to a traditional restaurant where you'll eat better for the same price.

30/09/2025: Grotta Azzurra in Gallarate is hands down one of the best pizza spots around! 🍕 The pizza is amazing – crispy, tasty, and full of flavor. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. Great service, great atmosphere, and definitely a place I’d recommend to anyone. it exceeded all expectations. Grotta Azzurra is undoubtedly a culinary gem in Gallarate and a destination that pizza enthusiasts must visit.

10/10/2025: We're in a Milanese neighborhood experiencing a resurgence. Its proximity to City Life has sparked a change of direction. Previously, it was a restaurant almost exclusively for the neighborhood's longtime residents, a medium-high clientele who wanted certainties and risottos. Today, their children and grandchildren also want to experiment, but with style. Versilia embodies this, with its longtime clientele, who crave risottos but love tartare. The two teachers who assist the chef, the true soul of the place, are elegant and kind. Good wines, a 1990s-style atmosphere. Certainties, nothing but certainties. Milan definitely needs them. Long live Versilia!

25/09/2025: I went with some colleagues and we tried various dishes for several days in a row and always had a great time! The staff was very kind.

20/09/2025: Paella served cold, when I asked to heat it up I was told that it was eaten like this... two and a half paellas (a baby portion for the child), three skewers, water cost 50 euros... for a delicatessen service on paper plates.

08/09/2025: Not recommended. The lasagna was just reheated. You could tell because it was only warm on the outside and completely cold on the inside. The polenta with beef was an absolute disaster. €19 for tiny portions and poorly presented, not to mention the taste, made us consider going to another restaurant afterward.

02/09/2025: We wanted to end our last evening on a high note and go for a really nice Italian meal! Unfortunately, we were very disappointed; the restaurant is not recommended at all; it's more show than substance! 1. The Aperol was completely off the mark, as it didn't contain any Prosecco. We politely pointed this out to the waitress, who was completely unbelievable, saying this couldn't be true. After a long discussion, we were given a new one, with the explanation that it didn't contain any sparkling wine! This one, however, was much lighter and tasted okay. 2. The food was abysmal. The Spaghetti Carbonara arrived, actually a traditional dish. We had to explain to the Italians how Carbonara is made! This one was completely greasy with pancetta! You'd look in vain for egg yolk! The waitress was completely stunned and explained to us that this was common practice here! The pasta was inedible! My girlfriend ate the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and shrimp out of politeness. It was incredibly creamy, cheaply made, and included two shrimp for €19. It was time to pay. Of course, the manager came over, who was totally unfriendly and unkempt! She presented us with the entire bill for €70, including all the food! But since the food was immediately cleared away after we complained and not even touched, we didn't see any point in paying! After a long discussion and argument with the manager, We only had to pay for the pasta with scampi, water, and Aperol. We went home hungry! Because everything was closed by then, we went to Carrefour and got fresh pasta with pesto, which was a thousand times better for €3! (third picture) This restaurant is not recommended! Please save your money for this restaurant!!!! P.S.: No waiting time, as it was quiet!

28/09/2025: We had a very bad experience. The waiter who took our order was rude and did not pay proper attention. He also forgot to write down one of the orders at our table and, when we asked about it, he reacted with annoyance and bad manners. Such service completely ruins the dining experience.

23/08/2025: I chose this place from the photos, by chance, while looking for a restaurant in the center of Desenzano for lunch on a rainy day. We entered this magical space, which is covered but feels like an outdoor dining area. It's meticulously designed, with a rustic yet refined feel. We ordered gnocchi alla sorrentina and a seafood first course with fresh pasta. The rating was...fair. The gnocchi were good, bathed in a very flavorful sauce, but with very little mozzarella, not blending in with the rest, as the recipe calls for. However, with the delicious bread they offer and all that delicious sauce, I made endless mopping up the sauce. The seafood first course was apparently good, perhaps a little too oily. Then I ordered grilled vegetables, but—probably my mistake—I expected them to be already seasoned. Instead, they arrive freshly grilled (grilled vegetables disgust me when they're hot) and with salt and oil on the side. Oh well... I was dreaming of those delicious side dishes with garlic and parsley, cold and flavorful (I think they could be made both ways and let the customer choose how they like them, but hot and plain absolutely not; freshly seasoned hot vegetables are truly awful). Then I had a crème caramel that seemed homemade, and I really enjoyed it. The service was efficient and very friendly. The bill was a bit steep, in my opinion, compared to the food. The ambiance, in my opinion, is the restaurant's strong point.

17/08/2025: We dined at this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The outdoor seating is located in a charming courtyard. The dishes are generous and of excellent quality. I recommend the tagliolini with pesto ragù; they are truly excellent.

08/09/2025: Family-run trattoria, with extremely friendly staff and owners, and a varied menu offering plenty of choice between first and second courses. Fair prices and carefully prepared food. Highly recommended for a lunch break!

18/04/2025: Il primo è arrivato dopo una mezz’oretta invece il secondo dopo quasi un ora ed era freddo e il contorno era senza sale ed era cotto male. I camerieri si lamentano tra di loro e poi si dimenticano di portare il cibo alle persone sedute.
