05/08/2025: Excellent service, managed with extreme kindness by a young, multilingual woman. Traditional cuisine with authentic flavors (the unmissable mandilli al pesto) is prepared in a small, open-plan kitchen. The place is artfully furnished but somewhat cluttered. A dinner spent peering through the window at the chefs at work, thinking and smiling about the fact that the next day we'll be visiting a huge series of tanks!? Aquarium!

19/07/2025: Good food quality, terrible service. The waiters threw chairs to clear tables late, rushing around and slamming plates to get things done quickly. The food was salty, but the wine list was good; perhaps it deserves a second chance during the week. The waiters could definitely be more friendly and professional, even when the restaurant is busy.

15/07/2025: L’antipasto perfetto. Le linguine buone ma con eccesso di scorza di limone che attribuivano al piatto un retrogusto amaro poco appetibile. Servizio curato se tralascio di essermi dovuta sorbire ( è andato per ke lunghe ..) la reprimenda di un cameriere capo (?)? Ad un cameriere di colore. I panni sporchi vanno lavati altrove.

25/07/2025: I'm only reviewing the surreal phone call I had with this place. I'm doing so because, as a Ligurian, I'm honestly tired of seeing all the clichés about hospitality in my region confirmed. First call: a woman answers. I ask if there might be a table for two available that evening (it doesn't hurt to try). She says, "Just a moment," puts the phone down (without putting it on hold) and begins talking to her colleagues for a good two minutes. I assume there was some problem in the dining room, but so be it. She picks up the phone and simply says, "Call me back in five minutes, please." Okay, don't worry, I answer politely. I call back after 5-10 minutes. A man answers. I ask if it would be possible, if there were availability, to have a table with a view (not knowing the restaurant's table layout) at the time indicated. His response, in a clearly annoyed and rude tone: "Look, when you come here, if there's room outside, we'll put you outside; if not, we'll put you inside." His tone was so arrogant that I had a hard time not hanging up and telling him to go fuck himself. An incredibly rude and inappropriate attitude. I immediately crossed this place off my list, and I should point out that I've never even eaten there. Reading other reviews, I see I'm not the only one to have experienced this "pill of arrogance" branded Orto di Ameste. Only in Liguria... Until restaurateurs, hoteliers, and the like understand that not everything is owed just because they're lucky enough to work in wonderful places (thanks to nature, not them), we'll never escape the stigma we carry.

11/07/2025: I had the most bland Italian food of my life. I will give them credit for being flexible with the time as we arrived late for lunch but sadly food was extremely bland. Not bad tasting but simply tasteless even though it was spaghetti alle vongole which usually is savory.

02/08/2025: A small pizzeria with delicious pizza. The place is small and not particularly inviting, but lots of locals eat there or get their pizza from there. We had the Caprese and Quaddro Formaggi. With the Formaggi, they specifically asked if it had or had no pompdore sauce—the first pizzeria that asks for this. We had it without, and it was really delicious—the pure taste of cheese. The Caprese was also very good—simple but with very good ingredients. And the value for money? It's really good, €20 with drinks.

02/08/2025: Delicious!! Really, really cheap pizza, and the welcome was also very good. The lady who served us was very kind and really made an effort to communicate with us even though we were French. The pizzas were really excellent; you could really taste the ingredients on the pizzas we chose. And the tiramisu was also very good. I recommend it 100%.

03/08/2025: Posto magico. Cibo eccellente, servizio puntuale e sorridente a delle cifre decisamente accettabili. È la quarta volta che torniamo da Giovanni e sicuramente ci ritorneremo. Abbiamo pernottato in un ambiente familiare con una vista fantastica. Decisamente da consigliare

03/08/2025: Abbiamo soggiornato due giorni in una stanza con una vista fantastica sulla spiaggia e il golfo di San Fruttuoso. Personale estremamente gentile e disponibile. Abbiamo gustato degli ottimi piatti, cibo locale in un ambiente accogliente, familiare e con una vista stupenda. Location da consigliare e nella quale sicuramente torneremo

12/08/2025: Tried during a day at the beach, the restaurant offers a lovely shaded veranda where you can enjoy lunch al fresco. The mixed seafood appetizer is excellent (honorable mention goes to the very interesting tuna mosciame), followed by spaghetti alla marinara, the restaurant's signature dish, truly delicious in its simplicity, and finishing with seasonal fish and ice cream. Friendly service. Reservations are required. Prices reflect the quality of the ingredients offered.

09/06/2025: Spaghetti with goat cheese = al dente, very tasty. Pizza also good, Caesar salad also OK

02/06/2025: Dinner: first course, water and house wine €27.00. Prices are normal but the quality of the food is not up to par: large portions but the fish that dresses the pasta has raised many doubts about its freshness.... So much so that we decided to stop at the first course and not go any further. Conclusions: Cuisine for those who seek quantity at the expense of quality

20/07/2025: A nice-looking restaurant. The service was okay but not overly friendly. Apparently, tourists aren't particularly welcome. They don't serve pizza in the evenings. Instead, there was a selection of all kinds of seafood dishes. If you don't like that kind of food, this is probably not the right restaurant for you. The pasta was okay. The fried seafood was mediocre, as it was quite a mix and there was a lot to sort through (e.g., fried scampi with the head on, not deveined), which made it difficult to eat in places. All in all, a fine visit, but one I wouldn't repeat.

18/07/2025: Nous avons des pizzas: pâte épaisse et moelleuse, garniture fraîche, pas trop de fromage. Un bon produit, idéal pour ceux qui ne sont pas fan des grandes pizzas à pâte sèche. De plus, le service était rapide, agréable avec en sus quelques mots de français.

01/08/2025: Il locale tipico nei vicoli di Genova si presenta come una classica osteria vicino al porto. Il personale è sbrigativo e poco cordiale, mal disposto da dare spiegazioni e parco di sorrisi e gentilezza (tipoco in Liguria ma qui si rasenta l'antipatia). In otto a tavola chiediamo alcuni secondi da condividere come antipasto: acciughe fritte, acciughe ripiene e tagliere di formaggi. Le acciughe ripiene sono 4: presentate su un piatto enorme con una fogliolina di insalata come guarnizione, ne abbiamo mangiato mezza a testa; le acciughe fritte saranno state una decina, con sospetto che fossero congelate; i formaggi di qualità da discount. I primi sono le portate migliori: il pesto è di qualità e anche la pasta è stata cotta bene. I secondi, scarsi: il pesce del giorno, un trancio d'ombrina, è stato servito crudo; rimandato in cuicina è stato passato malamente in padella e riproposto sullo stesso piatto già in parte mangiato. La carta dei vini costosissima per la qualità delle bevande proposte, il vino bianco è stato servito caldo nonostante avessimo chiesto una bottiglia da fredda. Un Vermentino da supermercato venduto a più di venti euro a bottiglia. Infine i dolci: anche'essi caldi e di bassa qualità. La sorpresa finale arriva con il conto, quasi 40 euro a testa per aver mangiato: 2 acciughe come antipasto, un piatto a testa, un dolce scadente e un paio di bicchieri di vino. Tipica osteria che sopravvive grazie al nome e alla posizione, qualche turista ci può anche casacare, ma chiunque abbia un minimo di palato e gusto non ci metta piede.

01/08/2025: Nel corso della cena ci accorgiamo che le due bottiglie di birra rossa Birrificio La Superba sono scadute a settembre 2024 (scadute da 10 mesi). Lo faccio presente alla cameriera che prende le bottiglie e le porta via. Terminata la cena chiedo il conto e pago. Dopo aver pagato, e pagato anche le 2 birre scadute, faccio presente che sarebbe stato gentile da parte loro non far pagare le due birre scadute; la cameriera/cassiera, pure irritata, ci ha risposto che era stata consegnata la birra scaduta e senza salutare se ne è andata in cucina. Veramente ineducata!

30/05/2025: Excellent food at a very affordable price! It's one of the few restaurants open between 4 and 7 p.m. Perfect for those going to the train station.

04/05/2025: È la terza volta che torno a distanza da due anni dall’ultima volta ed è sempre una conferma. Oggi abbiamo provato due piatti fuori menú da perdere la testa: trippa e tagliatelle al ragú di anatra. Menzione d’onore al dolce che era davvero strepitoso, un creme caramel fuori da comune, elaborato e buonissimo.

21/04/2025: Belle decouverte en ce lundi de Pàques..Visite prevu de ce joli village italien et decouverte de ce petit restaurant qui proposait un menu de Pâques et sans avoir réservé nous avons pu y dejeuner et nous regaler de ces bons produit .Ce pain maison delicieux..Tres bonne adresse

09/07/2025: Posto veramente spartano, tavoli di plastica, tovaglie di carta.arriviamo a nessuno ci guarda, dobbiamo fare sforzi per farci notare. Ci assegnano l'ultimo tavolo nell’angolo, tavolo che non dovrebbe nemmeno essere offerto agli ospiti per questione di pudore. Ce ne andiamo senza neanche sederci.

22/07/2025: Excellence in cuisine and a breathtaking view, an unforgettable experience. We dined at Le Cupole Restaurant on a summer evening and were thrilled. The dinner was a symphony of flavors: the seafood appetizers were a triumph of freshness (especially the red tuna with bottarga and the purple shrimp paired with prescinseua and basil), well explained by the staff and served with great attention.
