Ricardo was very friendly and fun to talk to, and he shared the family history of the place, which goes back many generations. It made the experience feel very special and personal. Great vibes all around — highly recommended.

11/03/2026: Lunch. A simple word for a complex trauma. Janey and I—Janey is the wife, she’s the one in the sensible shoes—had just completed the trek to St. Luca. A pilgrimage of sheer, unadulterated verticality. We ascended through the porticos—six hundred and sixty-six arches of infinite, repetitive stone. It is, I am told, the longest covered walkway on this terrestrial sphere, and by the four-hundredth arch, it feels like a marathon designed by a particularly sadistic monk. A colonnaded tunnel of lactic acid and regret. ​We collapsed into Da Cesari. We began with the Romagnolo. Twenty-four months. Cervia salt. It was... brave. It had the saltiness of a jilted sea captain. We shared it, in the way one shares a secret or a contagious disease. ​Then, for me, the Green Gramignone. Veridian spirals. Twirls of emerald hope. Drowned in a sausage ragù that spoke of ancient, earthy truths. It was—dare I say it—seminal. The greatest pasta to ever grace a porcelain disk. ​Janey had something else. Something... quiet. I don't recall. I’ve erased her plate from my memory banks to make room for the ragù. One must curate one's experiences, mustn't one? Everything else is merely... chaff."

12/02/2026: Excellent! The dishes were incredible; we ordered tagliatelle with ragu and gramigna with red onion ragu, both delicious. The place is beautiful and the service was great! We loved it and will be back!

09/02/2026: Very nice and welcoming atmosphere, a bit noisy. The food was decent, but the quality/price ratio was a bit high (especially the starters). The price was €45 per person, with 1 starter for each person sharing, 1 glass of wine per person, 1 shared side dish, 1 main course (but it was for 2 people), 1 water, no dessert, coffee, or anything else.

21/02/2026: I strongly advise against this place, not so much for the overall quality, but for the owner's unacceptable attitude. We were a group of four adults and a child. After ordering and consuming the first bottle of wine, the second had a noticeable sour note. When we politely reported the problem to the waiters (who, unlike the owners, were very kind), the owner intervened. Instead of handling the criticism professionally, he responded in an arrogant and condescending tone, insisting that the wine was perfect and treating us with extreme condescension. Although the bottle was eventually changed, the atmosphere became tense due to his rudeness. The worst came when it came to the bill: after paying €150, we asked for a civilized discussion to explain our disappointment. The owner's response was a literal: "I don't care, you can leave." It's incredible that a customer is treated this way after having duly paid the bill. Even if the food is sufficient, the human side and hospitality are zero. Never again.

21/02/2026: Let me start by saying that we live in downtown Modena and that it's been a while since we last dined at Taverna dei Servi. This evening, we decided to return. The four of us sat down and ordered: so far, everything was fine. We started with a bottle of Arneis, which we drank while waiting, and then with our first courses. When the second courses arrived, we ordered a second bottle, a Müller Thurgau. When the waiter returned to the table to ask if we liked the wine, I politely pointed out that it wasn't convincing: the classic primary aromas were already missing on the nose. Looking closer at the bottle, I noticed the 2022 vintage—we're talking about 2026—and politely asked if it could be changed, inviting the waiter to taste it. After tasting it, the waiter agreed to the change. Meanwhile, the second courses arrived, but the new wine was slow in arriving. After a few minutes, the owner showed up, claiming that he thought the wine was fine and that there was nothing wrong with it. This situation greatly annoyed me and the other diners. I tried to explain that Müller Thurgau is a wine generally enjoyed young and that a four-year-old bottle can taste tired, but the owner continued to reiterate his position. The question naturally arises: why bring the wine to the table and ask for an opinion if you won't accept criticism? Personal opinions aside, a change without discussion would have avoided unnecessary tension. On the way out, after paying, my wife tried to calmly express her opinion, but the owner replied that if we didn't like his offer, we could go elsewhere. An attitude we found truly unprofessional. Final bill: €140 for four people for three first courses, two second courses, and two bottles of wine. A shame, because the dinner was ruined by the owner's arrogant attitude. We won't be returning and, unfortunately, we feel we have to advise against Taverna dei Servi.

15/03/2026: Overall, it was an okay experience. The food was good and the location was charming. The only flaw was the service, as we had to repeatedly ask for water and condiments to be brought to the table, which were brought at the end of the meal. I'm sorry, but it was a Sunday in spring and therefore very crowded.

12/03/2026: Excellent osteria on the canal harbor, with a uniquely decorated but overall pleasant atmosphere. The food is very good, with generous portions. They also offer a daily menu at a very affordable and interesting price of €20, which includes a first course, second course, water, 1/4 cup wine, and coffee. Since we're talking about fish, I was very satisfied. It's also in a beautiful location, the canal harbor of Cesenatico. It's a shame I don't live closer, I'd go more often. Well done, keep up the good work. Ps. The waiter is also friendly 😃

26/02/2026: We went for lunch on a Sunday in February. We ate outside, it wasn't cold at all, and we had an artichoke salad that I highly recommend. It was one of the best we've ever eaten. The baked potatoes were truly delicious, and the pasta with Bolognese sauce was plentiful and tasty. We had a great time, and the price was reasonable. RECOMMENDED YES.

22/02/2026: The mussels in the seafood rice I ordered were spoiled. I got diarrhea after eating—on the train to Germany! Don’t eat here. When I told them the food wasn’t fresh, they offered to replace it with the same dish, but I felt too sick to eat. Not recommended.
