16/04/2026: KING OF SPAGHETTI ! What fun to be back in beautiful Salerno ! My wife and I arrived here for a 6 day vacation on Thurs, March 27th after a long private limo drive from Florence. Martin our good friend and limo / tour driver dropped us off a short distance from our 4th floor Airbnb on Corso Vittorio Emanuele....the ( mostly ) pedestrian mall which runs the length of downtown Salerno. We intended to revisit most of the restaurants, cafes and gelato shops we loved during our 4 day visit here 18 months ago...and find some new ones ! In fact during dinner that first night at a very good pizzeria one of the staff suggested Al Dente to us...said it was very good. On Saturday we set off along the pedestrian mall and arrived here around 1.30pm to grab some lunch. THE PLACE WAS PACKED OUT ! As soon as we entered the eatery I ran into Mauro the very friendly manager who seated us at a table immediately...the only one in sight. GREAT VIBE ! Everywhere I looked I could see contented diners enjoying their spaghetti dishes. BEER ! Mauro was the right guy to talk to and brought me an ice cold Mastri Birra Umbri IPA with a tall stem glass straight off the bat. VERY SATISFYING ! This was an American style IPA - 6.5% abv and a pleasure to drink . FOOD ! There was an enormous selection on the menu. My wife ordered BACON AND EGG ( Fresh organic eggs, pecorino romano DOP, Norcia bacon, black pepper ) while I decided on TOMATO AND BACON ( Norcia bacon, San Marzano DOP tomato, Pecorino Romano DOP and black pepper ). POPULAR PLACE ! I noticed that every time a table was vacated it was taken straight away. FAST SERVICE ! Our beautiful looking dishes arrived faster than the bullet train. SPAGHETTI HEAVEN ! Our perfectly made meals tasted extraordinary...these guys have got it down to a fine art. We paid the bill and thanked Mauro the cool manager, Veronica & Giuseppe the kind servers....got selfies of course ! Without a doubt we would have come back again but we had a very full schedule ahead of us. ONE OF OUR BEST DINING EXPERIENCES IN ITALY !

16/04/2026: The restaurant is welcoming with its modern shapes. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff is very kind with you. I appreciated the possibility to see the kitchen, because there aren't walls or any kind of separation. The dishes are great and portions are correct for the price. The menu is not so full of dishes, but everyone of it needs to be tried once upon a time. I strongly recommend this restaurant, mostly if you want to spend an enjoyable evening with your friends or colleges.

05/05/2026: Wandered in today and so in love with the basil cucumber spritz and my beet salad. Step in for a wonderful meal and relaxing vibe… also it’s a bit of an oasis from the crowds and shopping

15/04/2026: I was there a year ago. The restaurant consisted of two rooms. In each room, only one table was occupied. A waiter showed me to a small table in the passageway between the rooms. I felt very poorly treated. The waitress was constantly moving back and forth. Apparently, maintaining constant presence was part of her job description. I consider it a fundamental character flaw on my part that I even sat there in the first place. The food wasn't bad. I only remember that the arugula salad side dish was so soggy that it was impossible to freshen it up with a knife and fork. The whole experience was somehow surreal and unpleasant. Not a single other customer arrived during my visit. Although I occasionally go to Montepertuso, I've decided not to go there again.

07/05/2026: It's always a pleasure to return to Salvatore, who has become a friend as well as a great pizza chef. High-quality, very tasty products. If you want a great pizza or a tasty panuozzo, you have to go to Salvatore's!!

02/05/2026: We had dinner with friends, the staff was super helpful and friendly, and the food was excellent.

04/05/2026: We stayed at Ravello for 3 nights and this by far was the best restaurant. Quality fine food and excellent service. We had a nice pasta and nice sea bass and excellent wines. A bit more expensive than the other restaurants we visited but well worth the extra 20% as quality was 50% better.

21/01/2026: We're coming back and we cannot wait to eat here again, I was merely setting a reservation, and I figured I would show some love and give another 5-star rating. Completely worth it.

22/04/2026: The service was super nice and friendly. The restaurant, both inside and out, was very elegant. The only flaw was the food, particularly the pizza, which was a bit bland and very oily, but overall it wasn't bad.

20/04/2026: The fried foods were excellent. The quality of the ingredients is good. It's a shame that I was served a different pizza than what I ordered, and no one bothered to exchange it or have it remade.

15/05/2026: We visited Salerno with my friend and we had the most amazing dinner so far in Italy. The food was great and the service was exceptional! These guys deserve a pay rise, they really made our experience unforgettable!

12/05/2026: Truly beautiful. Discovered thanks to a Smartbox. I had actually included the 4-course menu, but given the occasion, I paid the extra and opted for the 7-course option. In total, for two people, water, and a glass of wine (including the Smartbox, of course), we spent €169. And I must say, the experience was absolutely top-notch. Starting with the entrée, kindly provided by the house, which opened the experience and introduced us to the mood of the cuisine. We were then offered a snack and bread, delicious, with extra virgin olive oil, equally good. The actual menu is fusion-inspired, contemporary, and with a nod to experimentation, but there are also some slightly more classic options. It's definitely not a cuisine that those accustomed to eating pasta with sauce will appreciate, with all due respect. The "cappuccino" thrilled me; it was absolutely perfect as a first course, an explosion of flavors with unique textures. Truly powerful. The second course was a Fassona steak, perhaps my favorite of the whole meal, which balanced the dish out but was truly delicious. The first course was a lemon risotto with cuttlefish, seaweed, and bottarga. A strong aroma but a strangely delicate flavor. Truly, truly good. Then there was a middle course that involved mopping up the bread with the meat, delicious and fun, which made us feel right at home. For the second course, a pork with scampi tartare and a sweet sauce that was out of this world. Finally, the dessert was superb, but more flavorful, so it depends on your palate. The service was perfect, not at all oppressive, in fact, invisible until absolutely necessary. The wine list was endless. I asked the maître d' for a glass, and he recommended a Ribolla Gialla, perfect. Finally, speaking of the location, we sat in the garden, which was delightful, perhaps a gem in the heart of Salerno. The interior rooms, on the other hand, have an elegant, urban feel; I could live there. Ultimately, how could I not recommend this beautiful restaurant? Excellent service, unique and carefully crafted cuisine, and a location with meticulous attention to detail. The price is absolutely in line. Congratulations!

28/03/2026: What can I say? Unique traditional dishes made with care and attention to detail. The prices are also low considering the quality of the finished product. The portions are generous. The service is simple and welcoming. Whether you're passing through or a local, I recommend this place for a proper lunch without spending a fortune.

13/05/2026: Highly recommended Staying in Atrani for our Amalfi coast trip was the best idea as it’s quiet and only 10 mins walk to Amalfi town. On our first night in Atrani we wanted to stay local and dined at Le Palme and were served by Luigi. He was so hilarious, friendly yet professional! The food was delicious and we views of the sea made the entire experience great. The restaurant also gave us a free bottle of wine which added to the entire experience.

13/05/2026: Nice restaurant by the sea. The pasta al limone was very good, and very rich in sauce. A real treat to mop up the sauce at the end with their bread, which was particularly good (and that's saying something, we're French). Very friendly waiter. Prices are inevitably a bit high, that's to be expected in this area, but the quality is there, and so is the setting.

26/04/2026: Palazzo Avino is an enchanting place, where the beauty of the location blends perfectly with exquisite cuisine. However, what truly made our stay memorable was the kindness of the staff. A special mention goes to Marinella, who looked after us with extreme care throughout the lunch. In particular, we thank her from the bottom of our hearts for the support and sensitivity she showed when my fiancée was slightly ill; her presence was essential in managing an unpleasant episode with discretion and professionalism. We will definitely return to this corner of paradise. Highly recommended!
